  1. Some have may noticed there were some areas on the E3 demo one screen marked "NAR." Could this be a hint that Nar Shadda is in the game? And perhaps "HAR" was Haruun Kal in the Al'Har system. This planet can be found in the starwars.com databank and looks interesting. There is even a reference for RPG stats. (E3 demo video) Edit: Sorry, the link is broken.
  2. Djungle is very common, however. But for my part Waterworlds and desert planets don't have to be always in. PS: By the way perfect argument! Why haven't I thought of this myself?! I'll better keep mum next time...
  3. Hopefully. I wonder what PER and HAR are. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm guessing PER is Peragus? Not sure what HAR is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps HAR is Haruun Kal in the Al'Har system. This planet can be found in the starwars.com databank and looks interesting. There is even a reference for RPG stats.
  4. In Kotor1 one Jedi and two non-Jedi could easily defeat a group of Dark Jedi. Not very plausible, but okay... Did I get your point correctly, that in Kotor2 you'd like to have three non-Jedi who manage to crush Darth Sion and every other Sith Lord in the galaxy? What the hell came over you...?
  5. You are absolutely right. This feature is the most important one to keep Force users alive. But this aspect of the force can be poorly simulated in a computer game.
  6. At last a samurai is nothing more than a japanese version of a medieval european knight. Put "Jedi" in front of "Knight" and we have it!
  7. Interesting opinion. But I think THE evil and THE good don't exist. It's a product of our mind. Unlike Star Wars fantasy, there we have the two sides of the Force.
  8. I hope it became clear, my understandig of balance is purely physical not esoteric. (A good example of disequilibrium is a thermal energy source. Energy flows form hot to cold because the system is out of equilibrium. You may be astonished, but even stars aren't in balance since the vastness of the universe is cold and waste)
  9. The only difference might be, that the Samurai didn't construct their swords by their own...
  10. The reason why WE exist is because of some imbalance in the universe. Mismatch of matter and antimatter, for example. And our planet Earth is very different from the average place in the universe. ALso a living being represents such an imbalance. It's essential for everything we're seeing in the real world. Maybe in Star Wars it's the same? (But it's a pity that in a far far future even protons will break apart... and perfect balance rules the world...)
  11. In the original Star Wars movies there is the concept of a mystical force field. Fights between good and evil don't seem to be as calcuable as for example in Pokemon.
  12. I think it has been confirmed by the devs that they are not planning to release a demo. Technical issues might have led to this decision, but I think not few would be ready to download this 2GB demo anyway.
  13. Have a bad feeling becoming unofficial and finaly irrelevant... :smiley_crying_bitterly:
  14. And you'd also affirm that sci-fi writers of today are very close to inventing hyperspace-jumps...?! Oh, and I think this will remain forgotton for a long time, too. The Holocrons have been lost, but not the Holocron technolody itself!
  15. umm thank you. main thing we talked about it. (obstructionist! )
  16. But that has to do a lot with shield efficiency. I think that in the movies they definitely had shields with the ability to block solid matter (including swords of all shade, A-Wings, etc.). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps when refering to ship mounted shields but not personal shields. The Xwing strategy guide stated that there are two types of shields in use on starfighters. The kind that deflect energy, and the type that deflect solid matter. Personal shields probably act like the former not the later. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then we only have to find a reason why rebel soldiers and imperial stormtroopers don't fight with personal shields and ancient swords anymore...

  18. The reason for that is explained by the Ithorian merchant and carth on Taris, shield generators used by the rep/sith block blaster shots but a swrod will cut straight through it. So you think shield generators, not blasters, are undeveloped in this age? That's the argument we are waiting for! The Levithian just had poorly shielding.
  19. and what about ancient swords? in kotor everybody seems to carry a sword about with him/her. blaster technology isn't developed very much. but aside from that lightsabers are clearly as good as they will be 4000 years later. never mind, it's fantasy...
  20. The MSG could be Kreia. Look into her old eyes and you'll see it.
  21. This always happens (and not only in this thread) when there are no more news by the devs that we can talk about
  22. Did you even bother to read my follow-up post? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay sorry, there has been a big misunderstanding! The only thing I don't agree with, is that the Hitler dictatorship seemed evil from the beginning of. At the beginning (mid-30's) the majority of the German people couldn't actually forsee what there would be coming. They first saw improvements, increasing economy etc., not WWII. I dare the speculation, that most of them (including many of the Jewish citizens) also didn't imagine that something like the holocaust would happen. But at the latest with the invasion of Poland by German and Soviet troops the "shroud of the dark side" fell...
  23. The only thing I can follow here is that you have quoted Communist propaganda. If you believe this or not is your problem . But what would you say if someone else comes into this forum and posts Nazi propaganda? Words can sound sooooo nice, but why don't we speak about the results of these words? In history both ideologies have led to the deaths of millions of people. They both didn't care about individuals! After a long time (when everthing seems so far far away....) there are always some people left who tend to glorify the past for unknown reasons...
  24. The Soviets seized power with the purported objective of creating a 'classless' society in which all people were equal and the working class and proletariat had absolute control, after the supposed 'transitionary phase' of absolute dictatorship. They were a dictatorship that pretended to hold on to power for a limited time, claiming to be preparing the way for a 'better' society. The Nazis seized power with the purported objective of absolute dictatorship, with a strict hierarchy leading up to one all-powerful leader who could make decisions quickly and efficiently, without the encumbrace of Senates and commitees and such. They seized power, and they never pretended they were ever going to give it up. Which sounds closer to the Empire? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't know much about Stalin, don't you? He was an ice cold imperialist. He claimed for power, crushed all opposition and expanded his empire. Under his brutal rule millions of people lost their lifes. And by the way he was also used to kill communist idealists. So the only difference that remains compared to Hitler is that he never initiated a world war. Your view of "Communism" sounds very nice , but has absolutely nothing to do with reallity!
