I think if I mentioned all fixes in all versions of TSLRCM I would have gone insane... and created an unreadable mass of text no-one in their right mind would go through. Not to mention a lot of times you just go fixing, and don't want to keep a list and keep going, and then need to back-track what you fixed. And what if 5 different fixes where in the same file. Do you list all 5 (useless clutter) or just said you fixed stuff (unclear for user what changed). Etc. etc. But I think you probably already knew, just putting it out there. They weren't all-compassing either. Especially with larger overhauls of stuff they just mention that it *had* been changed, not precisely to the how (as this thread asks) so we had to check out ourselves what exactly the new stuff was and if it was an improvement over the old system or not. I can't really believe making that list would've been easy either, breaking stuff and then fixing it between versions released to the public. What was fixed that was never broken in the open beta in the first place, and what was just fixed in internal versions that never saw light outside Larian? Just summing up a list of what's in the bugtracking software would thus list many issues fixed which players didn't even experience, so just using that can't be used as release documentation.

New Tombraider is actually Uncharted with Lara Croft... also, tortureporn. So wildly different that you can either 1) Love it, if you hate platformers 2) Hate it, if you love platformers DX:HR is pathetic compared to the original DX. So many horrible design decisions... that it's still more fun to play than most other modern games is more akin to those games than a testemoy to HR's skill. Mass Effect 2 is the game where "infinite ammo" got replaced with 'limited ammo, but atleast the gun doesn't overheat' and figured that was an 'improvement'... something a rational civilisation would never do. Infinite ammo? No more transportation of ammo putting the wareffort at risk... F that... FO2 is a RPG, FO3 is, well, a Bethesda game... all looks, much exploring, no substance. All in all, it's really all a matter of subjectivity, there's no objective discussion to be had here. If I like RPG's more and person B likes FPS for I like Deus Ex more and they may hate having to aim and love bulletsponges in Deus Ex: Invisible War. Away with inventories, ammotypes... I hate it, they love it. Does that make more right then them. Nope...

American Riots, Michael Brown....is it justified ?
Hassat Hunter replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
While I don't really want to discuss this, just need to comment this... Gromnir, did that study also mention how the relation high school/four-year is... since if that's lopsided (like 90%-10%) it could infact be just because there are far less four-year degree cops out there, and with that calculated in might potentially even be higher. Without that statistic, knowing 75-11 is really just a meaningless number... [/math] -
Path of the Damned not rewarding enough

Prob the same reason 'HARD' is there aside from Normal and Easy in most games... and neither Normal or Hard need to compensate you with extra stuff to make 'hard' worth it... :? -
I hope not from Steam? https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly EDIT: And according to Steam I already spend around 50 dollar this sale 0_o. Most went up to Defense Grid 1+2, and then several games at 5 euro or less (including Shadow Warrior, which is surprisingly fun... more than I expected).

Actually, the idea is that the opposition needs to be stronger than the party. While technically they are the stronger, the player can still beat them by beating smarter than the AI... not exploiting some loophole. It's why strong encounters are usually more satisfying than the easy meat, you know they should technically make mince-meat of you, yet you survive, and become victorious... Also, lol at this topic going from "Obsidian better removes engagement since it can't fix the AI to go around this single exploit" going towards "AI should be super-human like and do all kinds of stuff AI's never have been able to do"... -

Might also be one of the reasons Stargate is liked so much, rather than going with the usual stuff... I for one liked it very much, also in Serious Sam... and now again in the latest Payday 2 heist. Egyptian RPG? Obsidian? Insta-buy! -

Well, just won an auction of I game I wanted for less than 1 euro (regularly 13 euro... probably wont get that low with Steamsales either). Someone tried to snipe me, but was just too late But really, you got games for the picking for 1 euro at the moment...

*Of course* we care about sales... If it doesn't make a tidy profit, you'll just have the big publishers laughing at us... "See, you can't make a RPG these days anymore..." ... and begone is the re-rise of RPG's The questions is... Why would anyone NOT care? Unless of course the total lack of economical know-how (as discussed in another thread)? -
Currently 1000 gems is 90 cent, but it has steadily risen for a while now... it was 50 cent when they were re-introuduced with the dupe-bug fixed. EDIT: Steam Sale starts the 18th...

Even if under... first I posted 10 gems (114) then I raised it to 13 (84)... doubt I will win a copy for that, but we'll see how it goes... It's not really friendly you need to make a bid to see how viable that bid is, but it's the best method now :/

Double post! 0_o The auction starts pretty soon... used my 13 gems to make a bid, seems it's nr 84... so unless 16 people go over me (which isn't unlikely in 3 days) I actually get the game for that price too... but we'll see how it goes...

Economics: It's a hard concept... Doesn't matter what game I hear people about... people are all shocked and outraged over companies needing to make money (profit). It's not *that* hard is it? Or is it really that baffling to the ordinary person? Infact, the risk of not making a profit is all the higher with Pillars of Eternity since many of the people they aim at already have their copy. If all they do is get even that's a VERY bad situation for Obsidian. So no, "it's already paid for" doesn't mean they can give away their game, actually it makes it more vital to reach additional people to buy and make a profit. Aaaaaaaaanyway, I think they should marketize it as the spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate... did them well on Kickstarter after all, and it's the goal. And with the EE's of the BG's and soon IceWind Dale (where are you; Planescape Torment?) it's likely more people are familiar now with the game than 2 years ago!

The 18th actually. Got some gems when the exploit was running at 3 cents of the market, crafted some booster packs, then went to sleep since Steam was unstable (and it was late) to wake up to the gems being gone and my money refunded... :/ Oh well, I don't mind this gem and auction business... sold off stuff for 15 euro, hopefully making some more selling more cards. Also, from what I gather the gems are to stay even after the sale, to use for destroying your junk and making boosterpacks of it. Though it really depends if you're not cheaper off selling them and then buying a pack.

Dude, how the hell can *I* know what exploit you used. I'm not you, I can't watch you game... all I can see is "I love that exploit"... I doubt you called it that if the devs intend it. Stop asking me to explain your actions, you should know them better than I do. @ Osvir; Yes, and we all want that fixed, but this thread is "I cast cloudkill ofscreen and all enemies died without responding" > "Obviously we need to remove cloudkill from the game" -

Flames going high, but I don't have time now to reply to all of it. Lastly, I have *no idea* what you defined as exploit. You just said you exploited the fight. Making my point that with or without engagement you would exploit mechanics. And that the IE-mechanics obviously weren't infallible aswell since you could exploit it, but now blame Obsidian for the same in an unfinished game even. It's rather funny I apparently now need to explain what exploit you used... as I have no clue what it is. Everyone's pulling stuff in now that I apparently called exploit but the "I love that exploit" were it was actually aimed on. Don't hate me for actually reading what you write. EDIT: @ Archangel; Don't really want to fight more about the XP system. About a dozen threads are on it, all is said, and I know your side is a big giant wall where it's no point talking to, so why should we waste time on that. And yes, I read them... if you would have you'd known I have participated in most most valiantly... Still, it's a valid question; "what is called an exploit" and obviously many people disagree with Obsidian's definition of it (like restspam) and then go in arms to get it back the way it was. Since most really don't need their IE-issues fixed... apparently. -

And there it is... "We want an IE-game but without the issues it had" *fix issue* "No, you can't do that, it wasn't in the IE-games" Nice Catch-22 for OE. *calls something an exploit* *expects me to explain the exploit* What? I don't even know what the hell you exploited... just that you freely admitted that you exploited that battle was what I was after... and that was what this thread's all about, no? -

And thank you archangel for making my point, now with a perfect example added to it. See what happens if one tries to adjust some of those exploitable mechanics? -

Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
True... but since it's all about the #1 spot on Steam, it would only be foolish to ignore other genres. That's like saying you'll become top one seller when there's a CoD release since 'it's an other genre'... yeah, sale lists don't care. -
I was coming here expecting to find pages upong pages of posts on the Holiday Sale and the gem-issues... and I come here, nothing since 4 december... What's up Obsidian Forums?

Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Return my sarcasm back to me please... :/ That's the whole POINT. But as one can see, everytime OE tries to take away one of said flaws (like combat XP), there's a mirage of people flocking to bring it back to "IE-standard" and curse OE for steering away. Same here, they try to fix something broken in IE, and the sollution provided by Sensuki is to just get rid of it, and let IE-flaws run strong again. There's also the obvious very thin line what one might think is 'exploiting' and the other thinks of as 'the way IE is played'... especially if frequent exploiters of the strategy employed. Most noticable if a MMORPG fixes an exploit and everyone using it going on a massive whinespree, even if really everyone knew it was for the best. I agree that Sensuki does a great job, and I *am* glad he's doing his best to rid bugs and issues out of PoE. That is not being disputed. However, here, on the instance of Melee Engagement, it's gone beyond the call of 'making developers aware of issues' towards a personal crusade to have it completely abolished from the game. I think I would get slapped pretty badly if I suggested taking blasters out of The Sith Lords for example since 'everyone plays with lightsabers anyway, I don't use it... and the enemy AI can't handle it so let's all give them melee weapons instead'... There's making developers aware of something, and then there's making a dozen threads to 'force' the developers to modify the game in your vision. Personally, I am not very fond of those, I paid OE to make the game they wanted, not the game Sensuki wants. So the sum up; Bug-hunting, issue-reporting and thoroughness yay! This personal crusade nay. Hopefully people will also complain less now how I should not hate upon Sensuki for all he does for the game, while I'm not even doing so... EDIT: Not everyone plays like you. You can't expect everyone to have a 18 dexterity build. I know it's a shock people might play IE a different way, but we also need to think about them making PoE, not just the person who played BG(2) so many times they basically have the munckin build for the entire game, and then frown on everyone not having that same outset. Also good way to prove my point about exploits...
