  1. No, actually, BG series does suck.
  2. Wait, why are you choosing between two poor titles? Pick something better.
  3. Just going through the tutorial so far. Seems pretty cool. Lots of potential. Hmm, seems like HoI2: Doomsday xpac is coming out in April. I might have to pick that up.
  4. Those fools. It should have been Father Gregorius up in that tower with you for the ending scene. He should be the main character this time around. Alyx can go jump in a ditch.
  5. Hearts of Iron 2 ^_^
  6. I agree with alan too! I'm sure he wouldn't randomly antagonize people just for the sake of it!
  7. Meh, Alyx was a pretty forgettable character. HL2's other chars were much better. but she's a chick lol lol stupid fanboys
  8. Anything for you, my sweet succulent Jedi princess .... But, erm, yeah, IIRC Reynolds left Firaxis after AC to make Big Huge Games, which explains why Rise of Nations has a lot of 4X game similarities (this is a good thing). He's also the lead designer of Rise of Legends.
  9. The plot thickens...
  10. Rise of Legends, from that Brian Reynolds dawg whose new company made Rise of Nations.
  11. Wait, why are you singling out a specific forum member? Is is because he's a... wait, what kind of quotes are those, anyway? What the crap?
  12. Stop voodoo-cursing him, jerk.
  13. Nice going. I like that new city site. You should have named it FO3 I'd be leaning toward the pink site for the next city, though the green spot could also be pretty helpful in preventing another civ expanding near there. Given how many close neighbors we have, we need to expand fast. Or murderize them all, either way. Montemuza gets on the Black List. Anyway, the next spot is open. I'm not taking it yet.
  14. I couldnt care less about FO personally either way. I am simply stating they are going to gut, more or less, and re-image it. Is that a good or bad thing we will have to wait and see. You seem to think I am one one 'side' or the other FO wise, and that would be a incorrect assumption on your part. I am simply making the observation with new devs FO will be much different then then vision of the past. For myself, I am pretty much all burned out with fallout and all the whining about it for the past several years. Even if Obsidian did it it can NEVER acheive the expectations of the now rabid and carzed fans. Hell, if Tim Cain came back and did it you'd still have a ton of ppl crying 'its not real fallout, you screwed it up!'. Feargus hit the nail on the head when he said he was glad Obsidian isnt doing FO3 as there is NO possible way to please the fans. They will cry about it no matter who does it or what the end result will be. And I agree. Its a lost cause, and I have better things to worry about PC gaming wise then fallout, or lack of. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Obsidian was doing it, it would please me immensely. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, Bethesda will be making FO3. http://www.bethsoft.com/news/pressrelease_071204.htm
  15. Wait, wasn't FO:T a bastardization of the series?
  16. Pretty much. Something I'm not expecting or looking forward to, though, given Bethesda's track record (and from everything I've seen and read about Oblivion so far, the writing hasn't improved). If they somehow managed to magically rectify that, I'll eat my hat. Again, though, I'm not even remotely holding my breath. RT vs TB, perspective, all irrelevant. I don't even care if it's 'Fallout' or not. Heck, Fable and Dungeon Siege are complete drivel, but if somehow their sequels suddenly start feature good storytelling/roleplaying, I'll play them. My prejudice is against stupid games.
  17. lol lol denial Fallout is alive and kicking and FO3 will be a blockbuster hit and sell millions. All your wishing thinking isn't going to change that.
  18. Meh, writing transcends game genres.
  19. Endure. In enduring, grow strong.
  20. Relic is making the Outfit, Creative Assembly is making Total Warrior, etc, etc. Nothing prevents one company used to making one genre of games to make good games from another genre. The difference between that and Bethesda --> FO3 is that the genre is irrelevant. Their storytelling/writing skills aren't going to magically start existing (lol subjective crap) just because it's another series.
  21. Keep the comments, they've been good so far. The point of making this a team effort is that we all go away learning from it.
  22. Same difference. The games have good production values, but I can't really find anything remotely appealing about them when it comes to actually playing the game. Writing quality is subjective, but I don't see Bethesda suddenly producing good writing just because they're working on FO3.
