Please make KOTOR 2 longer!
alanschu replied to SteveMcCool's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Are people deleting posts or something? This thread is at the top as most recently replied to...but GoA is the most recent poster from days earlier? -
Important word there.

How could you have several strongholds in Baldur's Gate 2? I know you can do the "stronghold qualifying missions" with any character, but how can you do the stronghold? As a Paladin, it was impossible for me to do the Fighter stronghold missions in the castle. Back to KOTOR 2, IIRC I believe they mentioned something along the lines of certain areas only being open on planets if certain conditions were met (like a level requirement, certain NPC, LS or DS, or event triggered). So it sounds like we'll have reasons to go back to certain planets. -
True sequel. You don't need KOTOR 1 to play it, and KOTOR 2's story is significantly different from KOTOR 1s IMO. As has been said, identical engines does not mean it cannot be a sequel Baldur's Gate 2 is most definitely a sequel to Baldur's Gate.

Please make KOTOR 2 longer!

200 hours? Wow....I don't know what to say. I did it in less than 100 and did every sidequest that wasn't class specific (i.e. the Strongholds). I was a Paladin though.....are other class strongholds more involved? -
Why are threads like this one constantly at the top of the list with "new posts" when clearly, there are not any new posts? Is this a new bug that has come up since the message board update?

I would agree that the Manaan trial should have had endless hordes of level 20 guys (and possibly with damage resistance) coming at you to detain you. Realistically, I don't think it would be possible to get out of Manaan after you admit to killing the Sith for fun....but rather than just cutting to your execution, set up an impossible fight where you get knocked unconscious, captured, and executed. However, having said all that, you were likely already incapacitated in some form when you were on trial. They probably should make this endless horde come when you attempt to resist capture. It'll give the illusion of doing your own thing, but still limit the player down an easier to maintain path.

That's my intention. Depends on other confounding variables too. Half-Life 2 is probably gonna be released soon...so that should make me disappear for a while. Once the game comes out for X-Box, I'll likely try to avoid these forums as best I can. Although once the game comes out, I'll probably disappear for a long time....until NWN2 is on the horizon. Once KOTOR came out for PC I have only visited the forums a handful of times in the past year (you could probably even ask someone like Adria to verify....she's one of the ones I noticed a lot on Bioware's forums). Although I'm also involved in discussion in Gaming and RPG, so I'll probably still come back to check those out.

I actually agree. It doesn't make sense that it is possible to do EVERY sidequest. I know the game wants to make your choices more significant this time around, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some exclusiveness in the quests. -
To be fair, I find the APA to be pretty liberal with "mental disorder."

To lie and be free is much wiser than to tell the truth and be sent to prison. In your deffinition, no one can be wise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ????? Depends on what you value. I would think many of the martyrs in history would like to disagree with you.

Only if the sidequests are mutually exclusive though (which I wouldn't necessarily disagree with). -
I get the impression that HK-50 will be the first "boss" character you fight, and Peragus

It's basic economics. Obisidan has a limited amount of time and resources. This is indisputable. Building any sort of multiplayer component requires time and money. Since they are currently using ALL of their time and money for the single player experience, it would be impossible for them to implement any sort of multiplayer mode without taking away from the resources available for the single player game experience. Hence, it will affect their gaming experience.

Hello all....just wanted to introduce myself

Could be of the same line of thought, that a planet far away that is similar to ours would evolve the same way as ours, hencing giving rise to people that look just like us. -
It's also only be possible if planned from the beginning.

Hooray for bringing back a thread from the dead!

I got the impression from the original trilogy that Vader was actually a real badass with the lightsaber. He toyed with Luke by fighting with only one hand. At the same time, it's probably difficult to compare speed, since the original movies would have been much more limited since it's a dude in a costume that doesn't want to hurt himself. Until Episode 2, did anyone think Yoda was fast? Maul may have been the man with the lightsaber...but I would say Vader would be more akin to using other aspects of his training while fighting Maul. All the spinning around wouldn't help Maul at all when by the time he got there, he realized he just spun through Vader's saber. Vader had enough killer instinct (prior to meeting Luke, who began to turn him to the LS), that Obi-Wan would not have been able to get out of that hole.

I would suspect because someone went a little overboard when designing him. To be fair, I actually haven't read the comics, so.....

UNOFFICAL countdown to KOTOR 2 : TSL
alanschu replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmmmm...I know works for images...but not sure about how you could post a flash file. -
You don't really hunt it down in either game. You just sort of acquire it in Jedi Knight, and in Jedi Knight 2 you just don't use it. I'm sure Kyle knows exactly where it is.

I'd like to see some sort of sacrifice, as long as it isn't too cheesy or drawn out. I still get emotional as Dupre pushed me aside and before anyone can react, throws himself into the crematorium
-
Still...wouldn't consider that to be much of a celebration either. It seemed rather clandestine, and there was what....zero people in attendance?

Most attractive GIRL in Kotor

So sayeth the history of patriarchal dominance in Western (and almost every) culture -
I wouldn't say episode 2 has a celebration. Unless listening to a remix of the Imperial March while stormtroopers load into giant machines of death is a celebration.
