multiplayer
It's basic economics. Obisidan has a limited amount of time and resources. This is indisputable. Building any sort of multiplayer component requires time and money. Since they are currently using ALL of their time and money for the single player experience, it would be impossible for them to implement any sort of multiplayer mode without taking away from the resources available for the single player game experience. Hence, it will affect their gaming experience.

Hello all....just wanted to introduce myself
Could be of the same line of thought, that a planet far away that is similar to ours would evolve the same way as ours, hencing giving rise to people that look just like us.

multiplayer
It's also only be possible if planned from the beginning.

Favroite Overall Sith
I got the impression from the original trilogy that Vader was actually a real badass with the lightsaber. He toyed with Luke by fighting with only one hand. At the same time, it's probably difficult to compare speed, since the original movies would have been much more limited since it's a dude in a costume that doesn't want to hurt himself. Until Episode 2, did anyone think Yoda was fast? Maul may have been the man with the lightsaber...but I would say Vader would be more akin to using other aspects of his training while fighting Maul. All the spinning around wouldn't help Maul at all when by the time he got there, he realized he just spun through Vader's saber. Vader had enough killer instinct (prior to meeting Luke, who began to turn him to the LS), that Obi-Wan would not have been able to get out of that hole.

I would suspect because someone went a little overboard when designing him. To be fair, I actually haven't read the comics, so.....

UNOFFICAL countdown to KOTOR 2 : TSL
Hmmmm...I know works for images...but not sure about how you could post a flash file.

"Your" Lightsaber
You don't really hunt it down in either game. You just sort of acquire it in Jedi Knight, and in Jedi Knight 2 you just don't use it. I'm sure Kyle knows exactly where it is.

LS/DS Endings...
I'd like to see some sort of sacrifice, as long as it isn't too cheesy or drawn out. I still get emotional as Dupre pushed me aside and before anyone can react, throws himself into the crematorium

LS/DS Endings...
Still...wouldn't consider that to be much of a celebration either. It seemed rather clandestine, and there was what....zero people in attendance?

LS/DS Endings...
I wouldn't say episode 2 has a celebration. Unless listening to a remix of the Imperial March while stormtroopers load into giant machines of death is a celebration.

Favroite Overall Sith
I like how people talk about the tactics of Maul in the Duel of Fates fight and how a lot of people seem to be quite impressed by how he lead the Jedi on. However, whenever I speak with anyone that actually has experience with weapons training, they generally regard the Duel of Fates fight as the least realistic and most silly. I do think it is the best looking one too though.

Because some comic book said so?

Considerations for Cooperative Gameplay
STALKER would be a good one too. What is this Dungeon Lords game?

night n day?
That would probably be a huge part of the problem. If you look closely in KOTOR 1, the lightsabers don't actually give off light (which is probably why it "cost" too much in terms of performance). It would not be too impressive if there were night sequences where the lightsaber didn't actually light things up. As for retexturing...you don't need to do that for less light (which is all that darkness would be doing).

Considerations for Cooperative Gameplay
Must be a technical limitation perhaps? I can see potential nightmares if a situation is heavily scripted. Although at the same time I would think it would be possible to implement most scripts with some considerations. I don't see, from a technical standpoint, why a game like Call of Duty (which is heavily scripted) would be technically limited from a co-op standpoint. However, perhaps they would need to rework their AI algorithms since they seem to follow you around. Maybe with two entities they would get confused and broken? Having said that....I would really love to play Call of Duty co-op :D

If KotOR was made into a movie...
- If KotOR was made into a movie...
I'm a big Michael Biehn fan. Apparently James Cameron was too Guess he's a cult figure though....too bad he wasn't a bit more popular after some of his bigger movies like Terminator and Aliens. Figured those roles would put him on the map (or at least typecast as some cool tough guy). But then again, it's hard to convince people you didn't do Navy SEALS (of which Michael Biehn was the only redeeming factor IMO ). I wonder if he and Bill Paxton are friends at all, seeing as they were in a lot of movies together with James Cameron (along with the Governator too boot).- blocking lighting
Blockable in the original trilogy????? In any case, I'm sure they could implement it with some sort of AC or Dex or maybe even based on BAB (since that's your skill with a lightsaber). Or maybe a combination with your saving throw. Beat the DC and it does half damage...beat the DC by 10 and you block it. Make it a reflex save so that Dexterity can help it out.- Master Heal
Yup. Heal worked perfectly, and I generally just used it as a ran along (providing I was even hurt at all).- Self Taught - how many get along with this?
I know this wasn't directed towards me, but I feel confident in my decision to go into CompSci because even the boring coding I still find really fun. Our first project this year was to do a run-length encoding file compression which is really straight forward, but I still had oodles of fun doing (although it would probably be more of a creative algorithm thing though).- Self Taught - how many get along with this?
Though programming practice is usually covered in such degree's along side the algorithm theory. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. But from what I hear only so much for the first years (I'm only in my second year, but already the instruction for C/C++ is much quicker than when we studied Java the year before). It's funny how an algorithm can really speed up the efficiency of your program. One of the simpliest and most obvious ones is summation of numbers 1 through x. It is exceptionally easy to make a loop that can do this (a simple while loop), a much quicker solution is [x(x+1)]/2. In the first method, you have to do x assignments for every number, whereas in the second method you only perfom the instructions one time...so if X is huge, it's way faster. Admittedly this is a really, really, REALLY simple example, but as I learn the algorithms it's kinda neat how much more efficiently I can code, and like Gorth mentioned, see the errors of my previous code. As for xanas, sounds like you are well on your way. Although I speak from limited experience, I'd recommend getting a book on Data Structures and Algorithms. Data Structures help you deal with the common structures such as stacks, queues, the various linked-lists, hast tables etc. It also generally helps you to analyse the efficiency of these structures. (e.g. for small lists, a linked-list works fine, but for huge lists, a hash table with linked lists works much, much, faster). Algorthims will go along far in these instances as well. Coding efficiently cannot be overstated IMO, and will help you out in the long run. As for post-secondary education, look into some scholarships and other financial aid. It's possible to get bursaries from various organizations based on financial need (I know I did). Furthermore, look into scholarships from the institutions you wish to attend. I found out that there is over $50,000 in various scholarships for just Computing Science students (not including the scholarships for the Faculty of Science, which CompSci students are a part of as well). Work your ass off in school (which is mostly what it takes) and get a piece of the pie. That's my plan for this year :D- News Compilation
That's what the poster just before you just said! Force Clairvoyance is in the game. - If KotOR was made into a movie...
