  1. Heh, my newbie ways would always put guns and shields on "increased" Especially in the TIE Defender. It's so bloody fast anyways. It was teh r0x0r
  2. It is always possible, that because of their financial status, they had to sort of pull the plug on KOTOR 2. And were very apologetic to Obsidian that they could not fund the game anymore, and Obsidian said they could quickly wrap things up to still get some sort of a finished product (or some sort of discussion anyways), and that's why the product made the cut. It was sufficiently done to not get the axe, but it needed to be put out quickly since the money just wasn't there to fund the project. So in the end, Obsidian and Lucasarts still get along fine, and it's just a reflection of unfortunate circumstances. Hence, MCA has no problems wanting to work with Lucasarts on KOTOR 3 (or whatever), since he knows they're still good people....and he realizes that they're not going to be working together until Lucasarts has some $$$$ to fund the project. What does everyone else think? :D
  3. As long as the ships from the first 3 are cannon fodder :D
  4. I think it'd be bad for the game, as smaller teams, which often develop talented players, are not able to retain their investment as the big boys gobble them up with the big term deals. If the NHL wants to have a diverse market exposure (which they do if they want to make more money), a salary cap helps this. Without a salary cap, players follow the money, so smaller teams that would like their fans to retain some sort of interest in the game have to try to remain competitive. However, you'll just end up with teams in the big cities that can match the salaries. I can't imagine hockey being limited to the biggest cities as being good for either hockey or the NHL. And the NBA has a great salary cap implementation IMO. I like how if you resign a player, you can sign him for whatever you want, even if it's a bazillion dollars past the cap. But any new player you sign, the team must not exceed the cap after the signing (salaries of the minimum amount are exempt...likely for injury reasons). So you aren't penalized if you get good players on your team and would like to keep them, but at the same time you don't want to excessively exceed the cap in case a big free agent comes up, or a big trade deal comes up.
  5. http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/articl..._finances_2004/ Look, New York, -3.3 Million Edmonton, +3.3 Million Calgary also made 2.3 million.
  6. Seems like even New York wasn't making money. http://www.nhlcbanews.com/transcripts/levi...ript100104.html
  7. I know I know...I'm just being difficult :D Limited funds by the Empire!!?? Nevah! They eventually understood and through shields on their new ships, like the TIE Defender!
  8. It kept them unemployed....and made things drag on longer. Only to take a much worse deal later....smaaaaaaaaaart. I guess you'd rather have that garbage. Edmonton did make money in the last two seasons. Edmonton's payroll their last season they played was $31 million. I thought you said we should treat hockey like a business? Businesses try to make money. And they try to maximize their profits. Gaining US fans is what brings it in. And the only reason why hockey is as popular as it ever was is because of all those broke, incapable teams. Lets see how much following it has when it's only played in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, New York, and LA. I'm blaming the players for being retards. Clearly their actions support my conclusion. Well, if the players were right, why did they sign the newer, much crappier deal? Surely they could have gotten back up to what they were originally proposed.
  9. Did Fallout/SPECIAL come before 3rd Edition? Who borrowed 3rd level feats from who? And besides, you could make it 4 levels with Skilled Trait
  10. Never! I refuse....lalalallalalallalaa In a universe where shields exist, and they seemingly can be put on anything, it sure does suck to not have any I think it'd be better for morale if they at least had a token deflector, at least to say "your life is worth protecting" from the Empire :D
  11. The basic plan for my module is to have a series of branching nodes, where the story eventually comes together at certain parts, so that things don't get TOO out of control for me That way you can play through various parts of the game in a variety of distinct ways. I'm also planning on getting as much attribute and skill based choices in dialogue, as well as environmental interaction.
  12. I guess strike wasn't the best word. But the players still weren't signing the deal. It was their choice to not accept it. I guess you'd rather the suits be the only ones that enjoy the game. Never mind the fact that Edmonton had >100% attendance one year (thanks Heritage classic), and the fact that other teams and people have considered them to be one of the more exciting teams in the league. Perhaps you should know what you're talking about before posting. Teams like Edmonton and other smaller market teams are finding it harder to hold on to players. You get these garbage teams like New York, that buy so much talent that they become boring to watch, as it's a bunch of shmucks who have no idea how to work as a team. But I guess you'd rather have teams laden with players that don't mesh and all want ice time. Look at all the high spending did for New York. When was the last time they made the playoffs again? A team like New York can continue to make money because they have a market large enough to charge $1000 dollars for a seat. Some big suit's still gonna buy it, just because. Clearly people agree. That's why they're tuning in to the NFL, MLB, and the NBA. Then why didn't they sign the first deal? Or why are they signing a much worse deal now?
  13. I'm pretty sure it's all outsourcing now. I'll look into it further. EDIT: I think their last in house game was Republic Commando. Pandemic did Battlefront and is doing Battlefront II. They also did Mercenaries. Empire at War is Petroglyph. Galaxies is done by Sony Online Entertainment (and is a struggling MMO) They currently only have three games in development.....all of them by a third party.
  14. He may have beaten Vader by giving into his anger. But he "won" by turning his back on it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But he wouldn't have been in a position to turn his back on it to the Emperor without first giving into it and defeating Vader
  15. Rebels just realized that unimportant things like shields and structural integrity were useful? :D Although I suppose the Imperials did have the mass assault doctrine, which the TIE series are probably more appropriate for. But still, can you imagine being an Imperial Pilot and being told you're assigned to a TIE Fighter. To hits and you're dead!
  16. Wasn't the X-Wing originally an Imperial Prototype? The one with EVIL technolgoy~L@!!!@111
  17. Production houses don't close down all their in house development when times are good.
  18. Usually those divergent paths only really come at the end though. Even KOTORs, which I admire for their attempts to provide a different game experience, are for the most part the same game story wise until the end.
  19. The Sabbat grouping in Bloodlines is a little less structured IMO. Perhaps a not so organized sect of the clan Given that you are initially would simply be there for the sake of having an option to join the Sabbat. It certainly would have made the game more complicated to program. As much as I love choices and actual branching storylines, I understand that they do become expensive
  20. Hmm, I think someone has too. How about Or perhaps Are you lucky enough for ?
  21. Agreed. I hardly considered myself to have a life when I worked in the kitchen of a local Boston Pizza. But it brought home the bling for me to actually have a life
  22. Do you have an emoticon? The ones I can think of off the top of my head are: :darque: :alanschu: :musopticon?: And I'm not sure if it's kiotuii (surely I butchered that...sorry ) or metadigital:
  23. I have recently gained some XP in T.O.M.B.S. Soon I'll be able to get myself my Spidey Senses, so I can be Tobey's Stunt Double in Spiderman 3,4,5,6,67,7,8,,,6789879., And cast Magic Missile!! (attacking the darkness of course)
