  1. I have my money on Cab the Commie being a friend of Guildmaster to test out the software. Or some l33t h4x0r.
  2. I hate cut content. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really bet that that is not the case. You, like most people, probably love the ginormous amounts of utter crap that get cut out of games.
  3. I know you do.. Let's put it this way: Pirates! has more RPG elements than Diablo or most JRPGs that are marketed as RPGs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait a minute. Maybe it's your definition of RPG elements that don't match up with the rest of the world, if two game types marketed (and branded by customers) as RPG games supposedly have less "RPG elements." I mean, if RPGs don't have much RPG elements, are the RPG elements actually RPG elements?
  4. Actually, I think the 7th is when they opened to the public. Guildmaster created himself on the 20th of January, and developers registered on the 6th. A gajillion people on the 7th.
  5. Hmmm, must have been a huge influx of people on the 6th then from a different forum. A ton of people have registration dates around there, as well as the 7th.
  6. Is today the second anniversary of Obisidan forums?
  7. I've always considered it an action/adventure game :D
  8. Decent Dialogue? Getting married significantly affected the game? And Lancer, if you don't think of Pirates! as a sim, then why did you just say it could be called one? Besides, since we're playing the semantics game, I doubt many people would consider Civilization to be a SIM game either. Most people call it turn-based strategy. EDIT: Fair enough points all around BTW. I guess I never really considered it an RPG because, at the time, there was really no other game like it. I always thought of it as an open-ended adventure game, but that was over a decade ago.
  9. Since we've opened up the semantics can of worms, what are the heavy RPG elements? Not saying they're not there, but the term "RPG elements" does get tossed around quite a bit.
  10. Then it was the first sim on a console. Just because a genre isn't predominant on a particular platform, doesn't mean it's suddenly in a different genre. How could you "technically" have sims or whatever anyways? IMO a genre defies the platform.
  11. Awww, I was hoping for more backlash from the Kreia = Bastila comment. I did get a rise out of a few people though
  12. I guess. KOTOR 2 though, is definitely playable to the end.
  13. Lots.... Warriors of the Eternal Sun, Shadowrun, Buck Rogers, Pirates!, and even Sword of Vermillion and Super Hydlide are better than the Ultima 7 SNES port. A very good strategy RPG on the Genesis is Warsong. That is one friggin awesome game. EDIT: Probably Rings of Power too.. I have heard good stuff about it but never played it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Calling Pirates! an RPG now? I suppose. I wouldn't really be able to pigeon hole the game into any genre really....except maybe sandbox.
  14. Actually, I didn't think it was that obvious because I assumed that you were referring to the total package of NWN. Is it fair to hold the NWN OC up against Baldur's Gate 1&2 when it's clear much of the design and effort went into areas other than the OC? If you enjoyed the NWN package, are they still resting on their laurels living off of past success? Did you play the first game?
  15. True, it is German. Perhaps I should have just said "command of language." It did seem appropriate And yes, I think Epiphany was a plant as well. I've seen it before, especially during elections.
  16. No....I never said kiss their ass. Let's not take things to the extreme here. Though I am skeptical that you were initially as critical towards NWN as you seem to be now, in order to be so excited for the sequel. A sequel likely in production because of the merits of the original game. I suppose it's not impossible, but I find it difficult to think that someone would be so interested in a sequel of a game he didn't particularly care for.
  17. Given your command of the English language, I have a feeling 'putsch' was pretty deliberate?
  18. Though seriously, I had no idea Angel of Darkness was #6! in the franchise. Wowsers.
  19. You mean the marketing power of voluptuous women no doubt.
  20. The recruitment guys from EA said they suspect the PS3 to be #1 again when they came to my University. They didn't mention a percentage though.
  21. Though Volurn does have a point. The fansite you spend so much time running is being made by a company that received a leg up by making a sequel to a Bioware game, and the game that you so avidly follow through its development is because of a Bioware game. Surely you must have enjoyed NWN at least a little bit in order to create a NWN2 news site. EDIT: Darque's ninja bunny snuck in between somehow.
  22. I have heard that the PS3 is indeed pretty powerful.
