Hehe, good ol' Hacky-sack. The Jester was hard to do! There was the rollerskating, though that one sucked IMO. The surfing one was my favourite though. There was also the discus. I played it on the Apple II though. I was a big fan of Winter Games and World Games (no wiki ) though.

The only version I played was on the 3DO. It was good times.

I didn't mind the control scheme actually. After a while I was able to perform the actions while still watching the actual action on the screen, which made it seem a bit more cinematic. Also, the simon says reaction, particularly the last one or two sequences, typically made sense for what your character was doing. For example, when it had you pushing down, your character would often end up ducking in the scene just afterwards. I really enjoyed the game, and have actually played through it 3 separate times now.

Success and failure is based on the seller's expectation, not necessarily about whether or not a game made profit. Future games in the Jade Empire universe theoretically could have lesser (I say lesser, but it will likely go up since it will be on a new platform...just less up) costs as much of the research into the mythology and design of the setting has already been done. But it's all about expectation. I'm sure Amazon expected to lose a good chunk of change their first few years on the internet as well. If Bioware and Microsoft were not expecting the game to make sales, but perhaps to make up the differences with possible sequels, then the game could still be considered a success. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if it did or did not meet their expectations.

Not I. I used a battery! Though my cousin was much, much faster than me on the buttons, I was way better at timing the jumps and getting good angles. When we combined forces, we started reaching the sand pit on the "skip" part of the triple jump. The game gut buggered up when that happened. He was too fast for me for high jump though, I could never time it before we ran into the mat! Skeeting shooting was mine and all mine though :D
