  1. It's a holiday tomorrow, but I'm going to see if my local store is open and if they still have their copy.
  2. Put little green "stink" wavey line type stuff. It's what I did in elementary art classes :D
  3. But written orkish rules. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dabue? Zub Zub.
  4. On a side note, why on earth would we not talk about KOTOR 3, in the only thread that the moderators would keep open regarding the topic?

    NHL

You were the one saying the Rangers' should sue, not me. Because it's obvious that, in the middle of a heated competition, it's possible for a player to get injured. It happens all the time in the actual NHL. If they expected players to play like it was an All-Star game, then the NHL and the NHLPA are a bunch of morons. Besides, the NHL lets players do the same **** in their own league without repercussions. Getting their panties in a bunch would just make them appear like class A hypocrites. The Owners signed the deal that let the players play. If they wanted to go back on it, why did they RENEW the deal for this Olympics, and into 2010? If the NHL owners feel the threat of injury is too extreme, then don't sign off on contracts that allow NHL players to play in the Olympics. And anyone that doesn't think the Olympic Hockey is "real hockey," is either just trolling, or has no real concept of the sport of hockey.
  6. Fallout's ending must have pissed you off to no end then.
  7. Neither do I. After what happen to Bloodlines and Troika itself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you referring to Activision keeping Troika's doors open long enough so that they could actually release a much needed patch? They could have closed shop right after release, but they didn't.
  8. To be honest, I just pull them randomly until all three are lit. I've never really gave it much thought. It didn't take me many pulls at all either.
  9. I would think that developers would be a tad bit more cautious since the whole Fable fiasco, then again I guess it is too much for people to learn from mistakes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They didn't make Fable, and IMO this is hardly the same thing. Especially when I have yet been unable to see where they guaranteed mounts would be in the game. The way I see it, as it stands right now, it's as if they never announced mounts anyways. It's not like it was suddenly taken away from us after using them. To use your words though, I guess it's too much to expect people to not buy in too much with the pre-release hype.
  10. With true iterative development, you get the Extreme Programming/Agile Development paradigm, in which alphas are indeed given to the end user for them to see how it is coming. One of the big goals of this method is to ensure that issues get fixed while they are still easy to fix. You typically don't expand on the code base, until what you have is working properly, been extensively tested (i.e. it's now robust), and only if it is necessary.
  11. I've heard of bridges that let you use an RFID tag to pay your toll, so as you drive by it just charges you. I do think that, as this type of technology becomes more and more accessible, the ability to counter illegal spending sprees will also improve. I mean, already I am not responsible for merchandise purchased by my credit card if stolen...though the supplier is still SOL.
  12. I found Presence useless. I don't think I ever used it actually. If I did it was in 2004. I'd suggest skipping it personally.
  13. Is presence the one that weakens all around you?
  14. Wasn't there actually a good explanation for the binocular pic?
  15. You can also save money by not having to pay people/equipment to make it. Hysteria over information theft and all that continues to increase as well, but as you indicated with the movment/spending tracking, they are already capable of doing that. I guess the concern is that it becomes even easier.
  16. Oh, I definitely do not think it would work from a "you buy my product, and we'll continue to improve it" type model. More from a "hey, help us test our games for free" type model
  17. For hordes of easy bad guys, I still used melee weapons with my gun build. It's not much of an issue though, as blood buff gives you the ability to use almost any weapon effectively.
  18. Thinking about it a bit more, I can see how it could be very useful for interface issues especially. Level progression issues, game mechanics, rules, etc. could probably all be successfully done in an iterative testing environment.
  19. I can't see how it could be used, when dealing with anything story related. I suppose ideas for types of character interactions may be iterative. Don't use your story perse, but have different, short stories that demonstrate your idea for NPC interaction and receive critiques like that though.
  20. I don't see it as being bad. I know there are those out there that feel this will only strengthen the government's hold on us and whatnot, and help promote big brother....but I'm a skeptical of it going that far.
  21. No arguments. Those guys fly down those hills at speeds that make me drop my pants.
  22. Ah. Hehe, the true test-driven, extreme programming. I didn't think that that was necessarily what meta was suggesting, but fair enough. I'd be very surprised if they didn't iteratively test single player games in house though.
  23. Azarkon, what exactly are you trying to say? It seems initially like you were trying to say iterative testing cannot be done in RPGs, or something to that effect. I had some stuff to say about your most recent post, but I want to be certain that I understand your point before I reply.
