Why would you hope it fails? Off loading instructions from the CPU tends to help streamline processes and speed things up as well. It may not have the speed boost that you are hoping for at the moment, but neither did the original GeForce with its Hardware T&L. As for physics, IMO you can't really tell when looking at a screenshot. That's not what physics is all about.

Having plans to add something and actually adding something is quite different. On the plus side, they WERE just given about a 1 month extension to work on it, which would make adding stuff to it more likely.

Believe it or not, but that doesn't mean that they will add anything or not. That post is asking for a sticky.

They could. Given people were upset at the initial delay to begin with, I'm surprise you're now asking for them to do it. Weren't you really upset when it was mentioned that it wasn't going to be in? Now you're saying they should add some extra functionality?

I wouldn't be surprised if the changes are intrinisc, to get it working properly with the changes they made to the engine.
