  1. Would you have expected something different with Kerry?
  2. What do you use the DMC for? It sounds like the bug testing advantages it has for NWN are already included in NWN2, if the developer's word means anything.
  3. I was thinking more a restraining order.
  4. NHL

Listen closely, you may hear me going "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
  5. You made it sound like, the main reason why you couldn't move over, is that because you haven't been doing scripting and dialogue until now, and it would take a while to redo all the non-scripting and dialogue stuff. As for the rest of your post, I'm well aware of the extensiveness of dialogue and scripting. I just got the impression from this line:
  6. For the record, you shouldn't use the term "chipsets" which are entirely different that CPU processors. Intel does make excellent chipsets (well, the used to), but AMD has been a fantastic alternative, especially for gaming since 2000 when the Athlon Processor came out. If you prefer to have a processor that, while still good, typically doesn't perform as well in gaming, continue to buy an Intel processor.
  7. If I put Oblivion on minimum settings I could pull about 100 to 120 frames per second. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's the rest of your computer like?
  8. I just went for the gusto since I'm working and have near zero expenses. Plus, given school, I can declare some of it for taxes.
  9. You don't have much to tone down.
  10. He could still use a Pentium II as a photocopier as well. If you don't want windows XP and just want an internet explorer, you can get away with stuff that is practically 10 years old. Same goes for word processing.
  11. We'll see how well his computer plays games in a year, let alone 5 (or even 3).
  12. Oh, there is to much to list. I use Office programs for various sundries I do desktop publishing for various things. I use my computer to watch television shows, listen to music, and the such. I use it as a photocopier thanks to a scanner and my printer. I got graphic editing tools that I use on a rare occasion. I use it for communications such as the Internet and teleconferencing for long distance PnP gaming on occasion. You can't do that on a console. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But, do you need to buy Radeon X700 Pro graphics cards to use that stuff?
  13. Does it really freaking matter if it's 5 or 6? The point is that consoles are a better value and have longer use before you have to "upgrade" and the fact PC developers are always pushing (always always always) for higher and higher specs each game they make means the target audience keeps getting smaller and smaller <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess an emoticon for sarcasm was required. Sorry.
  14. Curious Hades, what else do you use your computer for?
  15. I agree, Darque was a bit off. I find the typical console life expectancy to be 5 years.
  16. Ah yes. The superficial scripts and all that.
  17. What on earth have you been working on if not scripting and dialogue?
  18. I don't find combat affects my FPS too much. It typically chugs around at a constant rate. I just notice it more because my life depends on it more. I typically have no problems with 30, but once it starts dropping below that and I can easily perceive the missed frames, I start getting a headache. It's similar with the 60 Hz monitor refresh rate. You're the first person I have met that said 15 fps is a-ok for them. EDIT: Darque, my point still stands. It's been that way for years.
  19. 15 to 20 fps.... More willing to sacrifice than me I guess. I get headaches at that framerate. What card do you have though, that does 6xAA with high selected on all other settings, but doesn't support HDR?
  20. Not really, as it has been this way for many, many moons already. EDIT: A whole PC that plays Oblivion at mid-to-high detail for $600??? ....
  21. New confuser should be here on Monday!
  22. It's always possible to down the graphic details as well. I find most minimum requirements tend to be pretty spot on actually.
  23. Cue an Einstein quote!
