It was funny, because one of my units identified one of your BT-7 tanks as a "T-34?" at one point. I was confused as to how the heck he would even know what a T-34 is! Next thing you know he'll be thinking the tanks are IS-2s or something silly.

It's not necessarily that they don't make sense, but movies are typically filmed in widescreen to begin with. With the widescreen version, you're getting 100% of the recorded content. No pan and scan or anything of the like.

If that's true then it's opposite of the '78 film, which would be bad, imo. I don't mind a slow beginning to help set the backstory or characters etc. but having it be the other way around is no good...well, I'll try to see this film during the day next week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Movies do this all the time, to good effect as far as I'm concerned. The beginning is often quick and entertaining, as it provides the hook for the viewer that catches his interest.

The "widescreen" of a widescreen monitor is still woefully inadequate compared to the eye analogy you are making. Nevermind the fact that somehow the "eye" is able to be completely in focus wherever you look.
