I think the idea of sitting on a finished game is still a very rare occurrence. The only one I can think of is Bloodlines.

From her post, I gather that since this was an Obsidian game, she assumed she would be able to make a female character. Moreover, the comparison with DX suggests she thought it would be an excellent game. The comparison with Deus Ex, a game that had only a male protagonist, is a blatant juxtaposition to her point and undermines it. Deus Ex is an example of her enjoying a game without having to play as a female character. If she's upset for assuming something that Obsidian never said, while at the same time in light of Obsidian stating (repeatedly) that the game was going to be about the protagonist "Michael Thorton," I think she was setting herself up for disappointment.

ETW is 1700s. I actually don't have a problem with it being one (very powerful and rich) province.

They Declared on me. I was kinda wanting to head north to take Berlin rather than south, but it looks like I'm gonna march for byzantium. That said, anyone know good mods that are similar to Total Realism at least map wise? I'm not exactly fantastic at medival and it's melee heavy partners, but I'm frustrated that ALL of france is one province. But isn't that going to require you to DOW a ton of other countries before heading south? Or is this not right at the beginning of the game?

NOLF is more like GoldenEye in that it was a game that said "use stealth" from the aspect of "you can sneak up on people and kill them." It's not really a spy game at all, but more of a shooter game at heart. Not that I mind. Both games were fantastic with hilarious writing.
