I don't know if it's uncool to link to another forum, but this one just boggled my mind. http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ad.php?t=384132 People here are complaining because Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, does not have a CD Key, complaining that it will ruin the Multiplayer experience because of "hackers." Complaining of a lack of DRM? Buh? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone over there haha. Of course, these people also feel that the original Operation Flashpoint was an unrivaled success story in PC gaming...

But was it put as eloquently as me? No!

As someone that has worked in the service industry, I can wholeheartedly say that the customer is rarely right haha. In any case, I suggest people enhance their calm and keep their blood pressure levels static. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that your life as a whole will be pretty unaffected by the release (or lack of release) of Alpha Protocol.

Playing the demo of ArmA 2 completely turned me off of the game. When the training mission involves the AI "combat training" guys to start attacking me when I'm not even at that point of the tutorial yet, including shooting and killing my CO for the tutorial, I grow very cautious of the game.

I have a quick question. What is California's situation regarding corporate taxes as well as progressive taxes (i.e. the rich get taxed more than the poor)?

So, Is this game delayed or not?

That makes much more sense haha. -
The market continues on with or without the presence of illegal aliens. This is why it very much seems like the illegal aliens are used as an excuse. Their presence has existed pretty much forever, but at this moment things are bad, so lets blame them, not things like government mismanagement and poor laws that restrict businesses and cause them to move to other states.

Is that company name "Homosoft?" -
Well, I get the impression Vince is similar to the Codex guy that was basically arguing with Chris Avellone that Planescape: Torment was a better game than Chris Avellone thought it was.
-
Are you rating it based on its claims that it's an RPG? That is, would you rate it higher if they categorized the game as an Adventure game?

I'll concede that illegals can take jobs away from US citizens, though IMO that's more through the minimum wage law. I'd find the issue less of an issue if both could compete on the same level for wages. But they are here illegally and do not deserve to compete, stay in your country and get the proper visa like the rest of the world does. $8.00 an hour does not go very far in CA as I indicated before, lowering the wage does not fix the problem it only causes more. Lowering/removing the minimum wage would do wonders for ensuring that businesses aren't artificially constrained. This is irrelevant to the illegal immigration crisis. One of the big side effects of minimum wage is unemployment. $8.00 an hour may not go very far, but if the alternative is not having a job and going onto welfare (and then being a 100% drain on the system), what is better for the economy? Back when minimum wage got bumped from $5/hr to $6/hr when I was just leaving high school, my boss (at a small restaurant) went from employing 6 people to 5 people. His costs stayed the same, but the rest of us ended up getting overworked because his kitchen really ran more efficiently with 6 people in it, but he couldn't afford it. The only alternative would have been to raise prices, which would have stymied business and been bad for the restaurant.

Yeah that's what I'd expect.

Yes go DA go. I am incredibly biased though in that regard

Do Illegal immigrants still count towards the unemployment rate? This I can definitely agree with. For example, I loathe minimum wage laws, and based on your post, it sounds like they are negatively affecting you and others because illegals can undercut it.
-
I asked you because I did not know. This isn't the first recession California has ever had though. Is it increasing the unemployment rate because businesses have decided to hire illegal immigrants instead of citizens? The rising health care costs I can see, as you even supplied a link for it talking about providing health care for illegal immigrants.

There is no argument, it's a problem, period end of story if you don't think it is well good on you but it's a huge issue. Though hasn't it always been a problem? Or has it gotten worse?

So was Karl Marx. Not that I'm accusing Enoch of being a Marxist. Comparing a poster to marx doesn't refute the fact that you were incorrect in your initial post. Karl Marx was never on these forums

I only compared him in a positive way, for the sake of the argument. And why don't you show how I was incorrect? I already did, but since ignorance is bliss, you probably have me on ignore Fortunately everyone else can see.

A high risk of flight? You don't say?

Do you understand him going "Seriously" right after he made that comment? And perhaps the emoticon? It seems you don't understand economics though. Taxes, like any price point, are going to have an optimal point where either increasing or decreasing the taxes will result in a net decrease in total incoming cash. It's easy, simplistic, and wrong, to simply say that lower taxes cause economic growth, which causes higher revenues in the long run, just like it's easy, simplistic, and wrong, to simply say that lower prices will cause increased sales,w hich causes higher revenues in the long run. There's always an optimal point and the tough part about economics in practice is finding that point. With migration between states a pretty easy thing (and taking Guard Dog's word for it), I think it's safe to say that the potential income from taxes is at least somewhat elastic as opposed to inelastic.

Aren't you the Austrians?

At the same time I think that BioWare may have placed significant time after the events of KOTOR 1/2 so that they can be a bit more creative in the story and not be restricted by the events. My guess is that things have been quite unstable for a long time now, due to the war with the Sith in the first KOTOR game.

It's a simple, functionalist approach of setting up the website (with me mostly getting sidetracked playing around with .php - curse my programming background). I'm mostly just using it as a medium to allow me to go rather.... excessive with pictures and youtube embeddings which the gracious hosts at Obsidian Entertainment forums understandably place limits on me doing I'm just putzing around with Dreamweaver so that the website doesn't look like complete ass. Though I assure you, it WILL look amateur. So you don't need to worry about that . I don't have much time to really make it look nice, but with today being a rare day that I don't need to be at work late, I figured I'd get some time in with working on it. I had created threads in the past about my exploits in the games and people seemed to enjoy reading them, so it's mostly just for that. Fionavar gave me permission to post quick synopses with links here, so (hopefully) you'll get some info on it there. Given my budget for gaming is about to fall to 0, a game like WITP (which can take a very long time to complete in its entirety) will occupy me for a long time.

I thought so too! Wait...perhaps Maria was just being cautious for other people?
