On XP try: "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Petroglyph\Empire At War\Save" On Vista try either: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Petroglyph\Empire At War\Save" Or: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Empire At War\Save" I think those paths are correct - if not then I'll install the game again and see if I can find the correct one.

You find the files and copy, not cut, them to a new location.

Do you have any disc emulation software -including Nero- on your PC?

Are your discs scratched? Also, have you tried cleaning them?

Try manually uninstalling KotOR II (id est deleting all of the files yourself) and then run CCleaner to take care of the registries. After this try to install the game.

You're looking for DirectX? Here's a download from Microsoft.

You might try launching the installer directly from the disc - it might be an auto-read error.

Are both of you using Vista? If so, try installing the games outside of the "program files" directory.

Had that been confirmed? Because last I heard no-one was sure that was the case.
