Darth Bane is very important to Sith History - he's the only Sith that survived Thought Bomb unleashed on Ruusan and founder of new sith brotherhood that produced Palpatine and Vader.
-
Light, she was quintessential Jedi and she would never fall to the Dark Side if not becouse of Malak's torture and brainwashing (and devs' hatred toward women - they just couldn't stand pure female hero)
-
.... and of course lovely Bastila Shan who mastered battle meditation and was a great hero... until devs decided that they are male-shovinists and she must be trashed. Yet girl with doublebladed yellow saber shouldn't be neglected!
-
Oh! And don't forget about Ulic Qel Droma who was third most powerful force user of the Great Sith War after Nomi and Exar!
-
Nomi Sunrider who was hero of the Great Sith War and a great lass too. She was very powerful - second most powerful force user of her times after Exar Kun Kyp Durron was most powerful and gifted of all Luke's students. Love him or hate him he must be on that list

The relevance of the Chronicles

I guess that's why he has opinion of so powerful baddie... -
In the end Exar was trying to destroy Luke's body but all his students gathered in the Great Temple and their joined light proved to be more powerful than his darkness - with the aid of Vodo, who was ancient spirit of Exar's teacher and knew his weaknesses.

The relevance of the Chronicles

Exar was hiding from Luke practically all the time. Read Jedi Academy, it's a great trilogy. Exar was using the same trick that Vergere will use in Destiny's Way. -
I guess he was quite mad after 4000 years of instant boredom and his actions were weird (to this day I don't understand why he killed Gantoris) And seriously: Luke is a symbol of Star Wars. It would be stupid if some ancient ghost killed him. I treat SW as a pure fantasy so Force is something like magic to me yes

Not bigger than Yoda and his lackeys who were spending hours on conferences with a Dark Lord who "accidentally" was a Chancellor of the Republic... -
I mean Jedi Academy Trilogy by Kevin Anderson, my favourite star wars author!
-
Than Lord of the Rings is also crappy.

You have an answer in Jedi Academy: Exar's spirit kicked Luke's ass in matter of seconds. Later he was destroyed by Luke's student with aid of Master Vodo's spirit. But it took 14 Jedi to destroy his spirit, and thousands to destroy him when he was in full power. While it took 2 Jedi to finish Palpi And don't forget that Exar as a living being, not a spirit, was far more powerful than his ghost. And yet this ghost threw Luke into coma. And please don't tell that this is lame EU. Anderson sent his question about Exar Kun to Lucas and Lucas said "make him a Dark Lord" (he was supposed to be Dark Jedi in the beginnning) and also made a list of abilities that Exar and ancient Sith were intended to have.

I vote for Exar Kun and Luke Skywalker. Exar mastered ancient sith magic and alchemy and it took thousands of Jedi to destroy him. Without his artifacts and spells he would have powers of Anakin Skywalker, howewer. Palpi was the victor but don't forget that in his times Jedi were proud, arogant and stagnant, Force diminished in them and Republic was a sham. Exar existed in times of Jedi's Golden age and despite their greatness he destroyed their entire planet full of libraries and artifacts and reduced Jedi Order by half... to me Exar Kun is symbol of what Sith Lords can do, he, not some rotten fossil like Palpi! Luke was a final Jedi who opened new era for the entire galaxy so this choice is natural. Despite that idiot Zahn decreased terribly his image by overshadowing him with pathetic bitch Mara Jade. PS Lucas himself was overseeing Exar Kun's birth as well as ancient Sith in general, so don't tell that Exar destroyed his vision of Star Wars!

Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Nur Ab Sal replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Most of what game tells us makes no sense at all. Yellow subtitles reveal that Malak was fighting over Taris with Jedi Battlefleet that tried to stop him. Later Carth says that they were ambushed and never wanted that battle. While subtitles tells about something similar to last stand at Endor, with Jedi as the ones who are behind that battle... -
The relevance of the Chronicles

Since Tales of the Jedi are main inspiration for KOTOR (even title was taken from one of series' comics) it is understandable why LA is posting TOTJ on their site. Here's official timeline for Tales of the Jedi series and KOTOR video games: The Golden Age of the Sith - - 5,000 BSW4 The Fall of the Sith Empire - - 5,000 BSW4 Knights of the Old Republic - - 4,000 BSW4 The Freedon Nadd Uprising - - 3,998 BSW4 Dark Lords of the Sith - - 3,997 BSW4 Sith War - - 3,996 BSW4 Redemption - - 3,986 BSW4 KOTOR - - 3,956 BSW4 KOTOR 2: Sith Lords - - 3,951 BSW4 -
Since the game has gone gold....

Yeah kids are usually wiser than adults, despite that their mental growth isn't finished. -

I can say the same about you. And please have some respect for older users - Weiser Cain is a veteran here, while you are some unknown brat. -
The Sith Lords has gone gold!
Nur Ab Sal replied to Exar_Kun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't care much for Xbox release. PC release is important to me, and I'm glad that my version will come out later and will have better graphics, less bugs and maybe some surprises for disappointed pcgamers (excl. me, I'm not disappointed  ) Well, well... what do you know! My 800th post! -
When Luke met Kun he was already a Jedi Master, and the one who has defeated Vader (with little training) so he wasn't completely defenseless, but I agree that in times of NJO he may be able to resist Kun'a attack (although NJO rather portraited him as a weakling who listens to his agressive wife all the time) Don't forget that the Prequels potrait Jedi in their twilight. They aren't as great as heroes of the Sith Wars. The problem is, that in Palpatine's time, Jedi were weak lamers. 4000 years ago it was Golden Age of the Jedi and Republic , so its pointless to say palpi that or palpi those. Palpi destroyed Prequel Jedi using simple intrigue not power of the Force and made advantage of their pride and stagnation. Old Sith Lords were fighting with Jedi at their height. And Anakin wasn't most powerful Jedi ever lived. Revan and Ulic were as powerful. In the eyes of his contemporaries Anakin was maybe most powerful, but Nomi would spank him easily. During his duel with Vodo Exar was at same age as Anakin when dueling with Obi. Exar succeded without a scratch and Anakin failed completely (well he's going to fail... in may ). And you really don't witness Anakin's exceptional talent. In AOTC and following Clone Wars comics and novels he's rather moderate Jedi. It took one Jedi to destroy Palpi. It took thousands to destroy Exar Kun. Such is difference between their potentials. I guess that point of view depends what you like. You like Anakin and Palpi, I like Exar and Ulic... so we'll never agree

Star Grazers. That's one of my favourite scenes too. But Nomi handled that illusion fast.

What is your least favorite character?
Nur Ab Sal replied to Darth Nole's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah all RPG fun is, that you can speculate about it, as it would be real! What greater pleasure is, if not playing a role of a mighty orc king or zhentarim spy after hard day at the university! Seriously the fact that I admire Bastila doesn't mean that I want to marry her, and so on... I crave only real girls, even if cyberbabes are cool too (sometimes). -
Yeah! There are great many scenes in TOTJ like destruction of Ossus, Exar in the galactic senate, Naga Sadow's invasion of Coruscant and greatest of all how Exar was destroyed on Yavin - it would be fantastic to see those 20.000 Jedi repelling his dark side energies using battle meditation, guy perished in great style, no doubt about that!

What annoyed you about KOTOR's plot?
Nur Ab Sal replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Of course. Anakin-padawan lost with 80-years old Dooku who was a Sith Lord. Anakin! Humans show true talent in the Force after 20 years old. Earlier they are limited by their age, and Bastila was 17-19 years old (assuming that she wasn't much older than Mission) Bastila was still padawan, and none padawan even so gifted one, cannot be a match for a Dark Lord. Not to mention that she and Revan were tortured by Karath and tired by slaining entire Leviathan crew - while Malak ambushed them with fresh energy He was an impossible loser, and few years later when Bastila would be a full-fledged knight, she would wipe floor with him easily (like Anakin will do with Dooku in EIII). It is the same analogy as with Dooku-Anakin. Anakin was more powerful but Dooku was more experienced. Here Bastila was more powerful and gifted, but Malak was more experienced and rested. -
Agreed but today Lucas could show Yoda wiping out entire star system - he has technology! There aren't any limitations today, really. But on the other hand Lucas promotes his vision of the late Jedi as the ones in which Force diminished. I think that if GL ever would like to make movies set in Sith Wars era he would show us sith lords blowing stars and making powerful illusions. Ancient galaxy was very fantasy like with magic and other stuff
