Well apparently you haven't read Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover - favourite novel of George Lucas these days... Shatterpoint is all about Mace Windu who travels to a jungle world of his childhood. I suggest you read it, then you'll understand differences between him and Luke. This is best novel I've ever read! And it's almost official since Lucas praised it for further development of Mace Windu's personality! Details

Xboxers are most pathetic kind of mindless animals They are parasites and should be treated with Saddam's supposed biological weapon " It is their fall that penguins are dying!

Qui Gonn forced Jedi Order to train Anakin and therefore he's the one responsible for the downfall of the Republic and slaughter of the Jedi... where's greatness in this? This guy should have a trial or something.

Of course you are right, but we're doing this only for fun. Can't believe that someone takes that topic serious...

Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?
Nur Ab Sal replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That ain't saying much. I hope he at least omitted 'Around the survivors a perimeter create.' <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let's say that Salvatore's star wars novels: Vector Prime and AOTC, are better than most of his fantasy novels. -
Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?

Salvatore's novelization of Attack of the Clones was better than the movie itself... On the other hand your examples are painfully true - Athans' Baldur novelization was a total crap. Maybe becouse Athans is a crappy writer In case of KOTOR novelization you have already wide array of comics and various other sources aboiut that era, so author guided by lucas licensing editor would just have to follow all that sources + KOTOR storyline to write good and EU compatible novel with mood characteristic to ancient star wars. Don't forget that KOTOR only follows Tales of the Jedi. -
Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?

It depends what author writes such novelization. Matthew Stover surely would write excellent KOTOR novelization. Yeah Kevin Anderson wrote excellent Saga of Seven Suns that is true masterpiece. I read also Matthew Stover's Blade of Tyshalle and it is as great. Troy Denning produced many nice novels set in Forgotten Realms like Parched Sea and others. -
Yeah Adria is very formal and she definitively likes locking things.

Star Wars universe is today too big and has its own life. One man cannot control it and his word is insignificant. GL maybe had starting idea but he realized it with help of hundreds various specialists. While I respect him for inventing Star Wars I can see also that he has his own favourite heroes and wants to show them as uber-lame. I have my own favourites too and I don't see them less powerful or worse than Vader or Luke. During expansion of Star Wars many people had as strong influence as Lucas and forced their own visions and ideas often as brilliant as his. The day when powerful characters will be reduced to few figures from the movies will be the day the Stars Wars die. The entire beauty of Star Wars today is that you can choose your own era and heroes who are equal to other heroes from different times. So what Knight3 is trying to say sounds just lame cause he presents limited version of Star Wars reduced to George's dogmas and movies that aren't that good to worship them and nothing more. I personally tend to believe that such religious approach (as knight3 has) to Lucas' holy word is stupid ass-sucking. Movies aren't more important to me than books and comics. And acc. to them Exar Kun, Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos were most powerful Sith Lords in galactic history and they surely overshadow Vader. I'm sorry but in the movies Vader is slow and un-impressing he doesn't have any special powers and lightning speed (don't start tale how special effects were weak in 80s Vader even doesn't know simplest sith spells)... and his achievements are lame. He killed some weak depravated Jedi that cannot be compared to Ancient Jedi and lost with his own master and later with Luke who had little training. I don't care what movies are saying, Vader is just unimpressing and if you treat books/comics as a relevant source than it turns out that Exar and Sadow are the greatest. It took one near-jedi to defeat Vader while it took thousands fully-trained Jedi from their prime to finish Exar and Sadow, not to mention that real Sith draws his power from nature while Vader was some mechanical thing and couldn't even heal his body, while ancient sith lords with their alchemy could do such thing. These are facts. If you don't treat EU as a source and worship movies only and GL as a prophet than Vader is the greatest. But tell me Knight 3 why you are here? This whole poll recognizes EU sith lords and therefore EU as a relevant thing. So movie-only enthusiast have no place here. Get lost newbie.

Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?
Nur Ab Sal replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah that's nothing wrong in KOTOR novelization especially that Official Site recognizes only LS ending as truth. -
Good explantion but you seem to forget that Mace in Prequels is nearly in his 50s while Luke in ROTJ is just 20 years old youngster. It is more fair to compare 50 years old Luke from "Unifying Force" with Prequel-Era Mace, Luke in that time is fully developed Jedi Master with greater selfcontrol that Mace ever had.
-
Now you see the Truth.
-
That would be cool
-
Hopefully not. It would destroy that character's concept completely. I think she should be head of the Jedi Underground (single, so I could seduce her once again during saving the galaxy hehe)
-
The idea is to keep that doubled topic in case first one will be locked by the mods. Emergency Exit you know... This way the Flame Wars will begin once again
-
Oh it's so melodramatic! Should do the trick...
-
Listen to his advice. A straight way to being a true JEDI it is.

And you were right.
