In star wars books and movies common thugs and soldiers have no chance against a force user. I want to feel my superiority as a Jedi and it is natural that I should have a possiblity to disarm force blind pigs and slaughter them defenseless. Even simple padawans can do that (ex. Obi-Wan in Darth Maul Shadowhunter)! Not to mention that cortosis is extremely rare resource so all these loosers simply shouldn'tt have swords made of cortosis BTW I don't like to feel like superman but let's have everything real shall we? In Star Wars Jedi don't have any problems with comnon folks!

Republic is amazing! Duursema and Ching are true masters of the pencil! BTW who do you like more? I prefer Ching for his Jabiim masterpiece although Duursema is almost as good in "Light and Dark" (Dooku looks there better than in the movies) Tales of the Jedi could be a match for the Republic but when Gosset really shown class (masterful Redemption) the series was ended by Dark Horse so Gosset went with his constantly evolving talent elsewhere (his newest Red Star comics are better than Redemption+Republic million times!) I think that some idiots are responsible for killing series that began to look interesting. Republic series in the beginning was rather lame - Twilight was first good comic and today when you compare Twilight to latest Duursema's achievements it looks lame!

Chronicles of the Old Republic is a nice idea to present "Tales of the Jedi" comics' storyline to those fans, who haven't read them yet. As a damned-by-other-users dangerous fanatic I love this of course. Chronicles are describing events that took place 1000 - 40 years before KOTOR 1 (Great Hyperspace War was 1000 years before KOTOR and Freedon Nadd Uprising 40 years) BTW in last Gamespy interview Feargus assured that hardcore fans will be satisfied, so you can only imagine how happy I am.

Exactly my thoughts although I think that it's difficult to compare low comic drawings from 1990s to GL superior prequels or KOTOR that was made by many artists. I treat TOTJ art as excellent concept art. BTW what TOTJ part had best art acc to you? My favourites are Redemption, Golden Age and Dark Lords.

Not much but since Star Wars are among my major interests and I want SW to be as coherent as possible (just like I want Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms to be as coherent as possible) I would feel distaste in case of TSL's suspected EU mistakes.
