  1. Hello, Matthew! From what I've gathered, TWM pt II will put an end to Pillars of Eternity's story. Let's hope for a second chapter to be developed soon!
  2. Hi there! The WM story starts at the beginning of Act II, when you gain control of the Stronghold. So, in order to play the expansion, I'm afraid you'll need to restart you game once more.
  3. Awesome thread! So: I'm currently reading these books: - The Name of The Rose (U. Eco) -The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien) -The Name of The Wind (P. Rothfuss) [following AndreaColombo's kind suggestion] on top of the many philosophical treatises University keeps throwing at me. In a good way though.
  4. Oh! I thought you were literally in the first part of the game, so I was just assuming you were referring to the "I'm a Watcher but I don't know it yet" affliction. Looks like I was wrong. Have you already brought this issue to the dev's attention by opening a thread under the "Technical Support section"? I'm sure they'll have the right solution to your problem.
  5. Wow,awesome! I'd love to know more about each character's design choices.
  6. This thread might help you out https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/84239-time-of-poe-wmii-release/?do=findComment&comment=1775262
  7. Hmm... I am NOT a min-maxer, and I'm truly terrible at remembering specifics and optimizing characters, as I prefer to build each party member according to their character and background, trying to develop their abilities in the way I feel to best emphasizes the role they have in my watcher's story. But anyway, here is my party of choice: -Watcher, the Cipher. High MIGHT, Very high INT and PER. Must be a Fast Runner and has to possess the technique for a Graceful Retreat, so to quickly move across the battlefield, aggressively spamming her mind-breaking powers before running back to the edge of the battlefield, Blunderbuss in hand, where she would mercilessly mow down every enemy from a distance, side by side with -Aloth, the Wizard. His weapon of choice is St Graham's Spark (Wood elf PER bonus works wonders with guns, and this pistol's ability to grant +10% accuracy to allies targeting the same enemies is just great), with which he would snipe and wear down even the most ferocious creature, before destroying it with one of his grimoire's devastating spells. He wears the legendary Aru-Brekr armor, and his fingers are blessed with two magnificent pieces of jewelry: the Ring of Wonders and Telda's Ring. In the meantime, the heart of the fight is dominated by -Edér, the Fighter. Enemies stumble and fall under the Frenzied blows of his enchanted Sabre, while uselessly clawing at his sturdy shield (which looks suspiciously like a big Larder Door). His imposing, muscular figure looks even more menacing while clad in the White Crest, a magic armor which grants him control over the powers of the Sea itself. Side by side with him, an Aumaua of impressive size, -Kana, the Chanter, rhythmically whirls his Pollaxe, all the while keeping the party's morale up with his booming voice, reciting melodious chants and summoning creatures of tremendous power to help them in battle. But, in order to ensure the victorious outcome of a fight, crucial is the role of -Durance, the Priest. Equipped with nothing but a simple mail armor, sloppily put over his old burnt robes, he heals his allies and shuns his foes by invoking the divine force of Magran's cleansing Flame... and occasionally stabbing people in the face with his crooked staff, muttering an infinite (and quite imaginative) string of curses.
  8. They look awesome, and their concept is quite cool! Can't wait to encounter them in-game!
  9. Same here. I always seem to run out of Pilgrim's Crown and Orlan Cradle for my weapon and armor upgrades. Sigh.
  10. I managed to check, at last! I believe the culprits to be: -Blessed was Wengridh, Quickest of His Tribe -Come, Soft Winds of Death -Dull the edge, Blunt The Point.
  11. Yeah, I'm aware of that. This "rules sheet" is only a first draft I put on (virtual) paper quite hurriedly. If you have any suggestion, I'm all ears! Well, due to the laws of probability anything can happen, am I right?
  12. When he calls her a whore, does that count as "speaking highly of"? This is *exactly* what I mean with "speaking highly of" u.u
  13. It has occurred to me that there seems to be no tangible proof of the existence of a Pillars of Eternity themed drinking game. This has made me a very sad panda, and so I decided to brew one up myself, for the sake of a good laugh. If you come up with more "rules", please reply to this topic, and I'll add them to this post! It goes without saying that: -This thread is for entertainment purposes only, and it is does NOT mean to encourage alcohol abuse in any way. -Before drinking, make sure you have reached your Country's legal drinking age. -Always drink responsibly. Moderation is good. Abuse is not. And thus, without further ado, lay back and grab your beverage of choice, for I bid you all a courteous welcome to my PILLARS OF ETERNITY DRINKING GAME Take a Sip every time- -Somebody mentions the word "Watcher" -Your Watcher has a vision -Your watcher talks to the dead -A new companion joins your group -Aloth gets knocked unconscious -"Aloth has found something..." while in stealth mode -Aloth behaves strangely/freaks out -Edér doesn't want to alarm us (but he's slowly dying of poison) -Edér wants to pet something -Durance mocks those who have fallen in battle -Durance speaks highly of Magran -Kana will be as quiet as a calm sea -Pallegina goes "Que?" -Sagani comments about the undisputed superiority of raw foods -Somebody steps on a trap -Maerwald repeats the word "Marauder" -One of your party members gets charmed* *If you are playing as a Cipher, empty your glass every time you have to re-charm them back to order. -You find a cat Empty your glass when- -Watcher faints due to a sudden vision -Your companions wonder what the heck is wrong with you. -Maerwald fires the famous line "No sleep for the Watcher" -Thaos starts body-surfing -Aloth fails an athletics check -Aloth reveals one of his secrets -Edér *gently* helps you to wake up from your fever-dreams -Hiravias cracks you up -TPK occours -One of your companions dies for good (feel free to take a second shot) -You are confronted with The Big Reveal
  14. Hello Aarik, thanks for your reply. I apologize: I haven't had the time to check the chants' name yet- I'll post them here as soon as I'll be able to.
  15. Woah, that's stunning!Well done, Cyseal!
  16. @AndreaColombo Haha! Actually she isn't! Too bad: that would explain it all! @SkySlam I'm quite positive I chose the "Benevolent" voice setting. PS: I love your signature. I was tempted to use that as my whatsapp status for a while, after playing Pillars of Eternity.
  17. So, in order to celebrate the upcoming release of The white March, pt II, I decided to start my third playthrough, and created my new Watcher,a lively Fire Godlike Chanter lady. As clearly stated by her background and behaviour, she had always been famous for being quite a peculiar character: a passionate thinker, restless and nonconforming. But she finally revealed her true heavy metal side when, during a fight against some vicious wolves, she belted out a thundering, powerful, virile growl (very much reminiscent of Kana's battle grunts) instead of her usual melodious phrase-chanting voice. Needles to say, the poor beasts were literally frightened to death, allowing me to enthusiastically compliment my chanter on her unbelievable vocal range. This happens quite rarely however, and always when my character is going solo on an enemy. Could this be a bug? If it s, it doesn't bother me at all, but I thought it would be a good idea to let you know about it. I play the OS X version of PoE and downloaded the game from the App Store.
  18. Niiiice! Can't wait to try those new Stronghold features out!
  19. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it is exactly like you wrote: in order to reach Caed Nua and start your adventure in the White March, you would need to restart the game. unfortunately, once you plummet into the pit that is Sun and Shadow, there is no way back (the game actually warns you about this as soon as you are presented with the option of entering the last dungeon).
  20. Let's hope so! I can't wait to witness more of this game's epic one-liners!... And to click my companions silly only to hear their annoyed reaction, of course.
