Yes good idea. But already the case for part. Or you cut the strength/resolve aspect and reinforce the power level aspect ? But it is not ideal because here is no way to increase the value other than by the level up, with your solution. Monk is not in the same case. There is no massive list of spells in monk panel. Obsidian lets be very clear that the "window of level up" is mixed between PASSIVE and SPELLS ... If you have 90% of spells. You can not have 50% of passive. You have 10% ... Contribution of the offensive attribute : 33 % (max without buff) Contribution of spiritshifting : 15 % With your system : 33 % / 2 (we cut the pear in half) = 15 % ~ Contribution without offensive stat scale = 15 + 15 = 30 %. (vs 48 %) Min-max are not happy : p -

If you take resolve for spiritshifting = you become fragile when untransformed. This is the main difference. Main problem, druid is hybrid by essence. Your core IS spiritshifting. And your progression is mainly spells. And even as shifter you can cast spells (before). If you want my analysis : beserker + Devoted > Druid shifter + Devoted. Because too few passives of druid. There only one of the TWO following solutions for the druid : 1) Make Resolve become the offensive attribute of spiritshifting. 2) Reinforce the panel of passive. Like that with a spe melee, we have Strength (offensive), no resolve, and you pick passive rather than useless spells. Think to single classes... Single shifter. What do you take with full spiritshifting ? Tell me ? ^^ +10 will +10 reflex +10 fortitude only^^ (and 40 % elemetal damage obviously) -

Except if Obsidian balance the druid for a great ensemble. In this case, Obsidian must buff the two aspects to compensate. Because each level, now, you chose only one spell by level AND spiritshift is a core ability. So, it is not a choice. It is a forced hybrid !... (if you want spells) Yes you can don't take the spells aspect, yes ! But you deprive yourself of 90% of the panel. Stay 3 passive useless +10 will/reflex/etc. OR another solution, internal resolve give you strength : "Inner power" = Spiritshifting via Resolve. Spiritshifting = determination = resolve of the nature = your true strength = Resolve attribute ? -
Stats nerf ? In first version of beta beckoner was really OP. Now for 10 seconds = racket. The main problem of that is : you are less effective AFTER 10 seconds than NOW in 3 seconds. So, after your casting time, you are always less effective than a melee with less time !? : p This is the main problem. Even if Mini-wyvern (I forgot the name) can be invoke in 3 seconds, it is always less effective than melee with the same amount of time. So the problem is BIG : p

All the good things have disapeared. 25 % burn danage on all the team ? = 20 % now. Dragon thrashed ? = Poop now. But now the spell of paralyse is very good. Will be a good support the day when dragon thrashed will be better. (actually buggued or what ?...) Beckoner : 10 seconds + Recent Nerf. Absolutely not OP compared to good combination of melee. I dislike this subclass now. 6 seconds of cast seems to be more realistic in the course of the fight. Skald : Surely the best, if we weave around the paralysis. Strange thing : this is only with melee attack. Not ranged and not offensive spells. Like Sharshooter only ranged : weird decision... Troubadour : Good in acceleration of phrases, good in multiclass but... I don't know. Without a good dragon thrashed = trash for me : p

A good druid need : Intelligence (storms) Strength (Spiritshifting) Perception (accuracy) Resolve (damage spells) Dexterity (Speed for spells (obligation with the situation of casters...) and spiritshifting) a good ranger need : Strength (Damage) Perception (accuracy) Dexterity (speed) It is not very fair... You cannot give 15 in all stat. If you don't have dump stat like resolve, resolve have 15 and you have less points to spends. So there is a problem. True. Single class is awful. POE1 have a better system for passive. A better list. A better choice each level. All in POE2 is do for multiclassing. I don't see yet the interrest of single class. Perhaps kill apps 2 last levels of abilities/spell (perhaps...) -

Arcane Assault was very useful level 1-8 in POE1. Sort of Instant attack very quick. Stay honorable after that (continue to evolve) Now Wizard is... ...Bad. -
change absolutely all the statistics of the bestiary is generally a bad idea. Because if you change amplitude of penetration. You must adjust armor in return. It could be a solution, if it's done soon enough. But here an other problem : and that why Obsidian make this choice : Obsidian don't want a non-viable system for starters. Because if you go on a system at 5 - 20 penetration rather than 5 - 14, you take a risk for novice players. With a bad build you have 5 of penetration rather than a highter Max (here 20). Same problem with old game with high growth rate. Obsidian create POE2 to decide faster if the current strategy will work. All... or nothing. That is true. + 100% recovery, we don't want to take it.... -20 deflection is terrible but... it's the least worst : p

This explain the nerf of devoted and berserker and even with that ! there is the "suppressed effect" with weapons. (case of berserker, read lower) So, at the end, the system can break because Obsidian want to limit the gain of penetration, but nerf again and again all the subclasses with a boost in penetration. So eventually, at the end, you have the penalty and not real gain. Like now. Berserker have a bigger penalty than devoted. But, with the nerf all the two classes have Penetration + 2. BUT Half-sword, a modal of sword, give a +2 in penetration. If the logic is respected : stack. Obligation, because if not, you broke the interrest of berserker (bigger malus and base fighter have 50 % hit to crit, without penalty). Yet this is not currently the case, and it is not normal. The non-stack is a solution of ease, illogical. So Obsidian MUST create a violent and logical metagame. If not, the game will be less fun, or the bonuses still have few nerfs (at the risk of breaking the logic) Like you said, one of the solution is to increase HP of ennemies. But Obsidian will not do that. Why ? Because Obsidian want to create dynamic fights AND not that novices get lost in endless battles where 5 resources would not be enough. So it's limited as an option. (When you are novice, you don't know the best options like optimal way of play). Indeed : if you have "no pen" "no pen", more HP is worse ! This moves the problem. Even, make it worse. Obsidian must balance his game, but this is limited : the penetration, as you have shown, is a fairly restricted space from level 1 to 20. So there is too few solutions, except accept a meta-game quite unbalanced, they will try to balance at best. In PoTD, I'm afraid we'll see more Ranger / Berserker / Fighter. Penetration is a key for do all your damage and +30 % damage. It is not nothing...

For me it is impossible. Boost via a modal = counterpart in POE2. This mode becoming useless. There is also a rule in description of the game : "All abilities stack". Except all declinations of inspirations/afflictions. Berserker become totally useless, now it is +2. OR you modal become totally useless : p In the 2 cases it is a bad choice. If not, I take a standard barbarian without malus + this mode (Half sword) give me +2 penetration...^^.... And for hit to crit, I have base fighter, and better : devoted etc. So Berserker become largely less useful. Devoted stack. Berserker doesn't stack. -

Length + even longer if it misses = something is wrong with casters... 5) Black jacket, Stalker, Fury, Shifter, street fighter, ghost heart, nalpazca have great "background"/idea, good "essence". -
Powder burns = resolve ? It is intended ? To consider as a spell? For exemple, bow and arquebus do damage with Strength, but this modal is resolve ?...

Hello, I play the new version of the beta again and again to try all the possibilities. Ranger is good, but not really at the level of devoted or Berserker and few others classes. Main problem for me, if I want to play Melee ranger, the interresting concept is the sharshooter but it is impossible to make it profitable. I think, this is not a big problem indeed, but the concept of Sharshooter is proximity attack. So... Why not extend the Penetration +2 for melee characters ? If the background of the class is a problem and the name (greatly affiliated at the sniper, I confess), perhaps remane it like "Scout or Pathfinder". Because I have try to play, but this is a little bit strange to micro a ranged character like that. Impossible to view exactly the distance (> or < 4m). So... Logic want a melee character but this is impossible. What do you think of this idea ?

[Bug] Sword 2 penetrations + Berserker Tenacious

Hello, Simple bug. The modal of the sword 1H : Half-Sword +2 penetration -20 Deflection Frenzy of the Subclass Berserker --> Tenacious Strength +5 Penetration +2 = Tenacious (Supressed) Tenacious is suppressed. (Penetration part) I think it is a bug because modal have a heavy coutnerpart and become useless in this case. Ability ==//== Weapons. Must be stack. If you want, I give a screenshot or a save. -

Problem is, empower is a... more powerful version of the abilitiy. Except if you give a penetration bonus... you must increase actual values ? All empower effects in "locked ability" seems to be different. Flames of devotion offer +5 penetration and +20 accuracy when few spells incrase all the variables values. So there is a lot of choice for sworn ennemy under empower : 30 accuracy 40 % damage. Like said above. 23 accuracy 30 % damage. Considering the bonus is permanent until death of the target. +3 penetration +15 accuracy +20 % damage Etc etc. But no effect seems to be weird. There also could be a reinforcement, for some support spells. Which, under empower, are not crazy. (apart from the duration, but that's only one variable in a certain point of view...) -

I think, there is urgent need to complete informations on each spells/Abilities ! I'm not sure. Flames of devotion is a locked ability. You mean in general ? Obsidian if you read this : If I understand right the logic of Obsi, globally, empower is a big x2 in all aspect, once in a battle. So sworn ennemy should be gain 30 accuracy / 40 % damage. -
I think Obsidian must make an intuitive and comprehensive system. It is not normal and logical that few abilities gain nothing under empower. All numerical values = empower with a 50 or 100 % bonus. All conceptual values = eventually upgrade one by one (different case for each) EXEMPLE ... Flames of the devotion (values fixed since POE1) No power level effect (We stay with that concept), except under empower. +50 % fire damage - > +100 % fire damage. +20 accuracy - > +40 accuracy Or if it is too much. a 50 x 2. +50 % fire damage - > +75 % fire damage. +20 accuracy - > +30 accuracy Sworn ennemy - Under empower +15 accuracy - > +30 accuracy +20 % damage - > +40 % damage. OR +15 accuracy - > +23 accuracy +20 % damage - > +30 % damage. Don't forget you have only one EMPOWER by battle. So, high value is totally normal.

We can view the virtual gain for empower. I see for exemple Flames of devotion add +20 accuracy. So it is 100 % of one value. So 50 % x 2 or 100 % once. Sworn ennemy - Under empower +30 accuracy +40 % damage ? -
Personnaly I think in POE1, CC spells was indeed a little bit too effective. A little. But Obsidian has nerf all the aspect. Cast time / Critical hit / Damage ratio DPS / Effect of affliction (Stun ? -30 to -10) for MORE delay of general cast (cast time + Recovery) While there was a difference, a required change, but not that big ! If you are a novice, in classic mode, it is like a good player in PotD. I remember my first playtrough for that. I was less effecient in classic mode than few years after, in PoTD. So...^^ It is true Boeroer, but it is above all the knowledge of the game. For now, in my team, no way there is a wizard. Maybe a priest, multiclassed. But not even solo, because he's going bored and ineffective. Let's say it clearly : The casters of this game have a VERY bad image that makes that I do not even want to test them. I feel like 4x more time to finish the beta with them ... I do not take pleasure in playing druids (worse now with the choice : resolve or Strength), cipher (same), wizard and even priest (as his palette is limited at the moment).

1) No boost via Empower. If a novice try to do that, his curiosity is not rewarded. Pretty simple ! : p I think that the values can remain fixed (origin of the problem in my opinion...) but that the values can still move under empower ?... ________________________________________________________________________ 2) For two points of abilities each, Marked for the hunt is CLEARLY superior : Marked for the Hunt - 20m - Cast once, and he jump automatically until the end of the fight. Total : 0,5 sec only once. Less worry, same spend. - Pet can do damage with his master. Sworn Rival - 10m - Refound, but must be cast each time for each new ennemy 0,5 sec * Y. - Only the paladin can do damage on the target. ------------------------------ Possible changes for Sworn rival : Sworn Rival - 10m - Refound, but must be cast each time 0,5 sec * Y. - Paladins of the same order can benefit of the boost The paladin has this notion of sharing = congruent with the concept.
