  1. Lucky you. I've had a PS Vita, Wii U, and Sega Saturn. All of which were way worse.
  2. And I heard he hasn't worked for Obsidian for over a year.
  3. Not to totally derail the thread, but yeah, this was the big hole in Thanos' plan in Infinity War. You can more than double your population in a single generation.
  4. And yet it's an inflation league. One player does it and everyone else will try to get the same amount of money and suddenly Mahomes is just one of a half dozen QBs with a mega contract despite being the most talented of the lot and then restructuring talks begin. I didn't say it made sense from a fiscal standpoint, but that's how business works.
  5. His position doesn't makes no difference in my prediction. A decade is a long time. During that time the value of the dollar and cost of living will change. Either KC will feel like they're pouring too much money into one position and that limits their ability to win a championship as a team (I'll go on record and say barring epic collapse any team Mahomes starts for will make the playoffs). Or, as is more likely, Mahomes gets to around year five of the contract and feels under paid and wants to sign a new deal. He might play 10 years in KC, but he won't play out this contract because they will restructure at some point.
  6. Welp. It was only a matter of time before the NFL jumped in on the MLB style decade long contracts. Has any of the MLB 10 contracts lasted the whole 10 years? I'm pretty sure this one won't because at some point either Mahomes or the Chiefs will want to restructure it and if it doesn't get restructured it's likely that the whole contract won't be played out in Kansas City, which means restructuring it for another team.
  7. They already spent a ton of money on Deadfire and it only just break even a few months ago. It's estimated that the budget of Deadfire pre-release was over 10 million. Then they made the DLCs, a bunch of bonus free content, new sub classes, and a turn-style mode. Just about anyone who was going to buy Deadfire on PC already has. That doesn't mean there aren't people out there who wouldn't love it if they gave it a shot, but odds are if they haven't by now they never will.
  8. Is this about vampires or is it a metaphor about the spread of cancel culture in Hollywood?
  9. It's based on Bethesda's Fallout which means it's basically based on fart jokes.
  10. You'd think I'd get that seeing as I am sitting in a room with a window unit on right now. I'm a sad person.
  11. Call me dim, but I don't get this one.
  12. "The Schindler's List of shark games." I can do one better: Fifty Shades of Chum staring the Mat Damon of sharks.
  13. Oh, God. Now I can't unsee this. As someone who grew up a big Detective Comics fan I'm gonna need some time to come to terms with this. I knew that the creators were into some alternate lifestyle stuff, but damn.
  14. Even better: Wonder Woman has an airplane . . . despite the fact she can fly. The kicker, it's invisible. You'd think that'd make it harder to find but you'd be wrong 'cause the plane is invisible and not the people or objects inside it.
  15. With or without rule 34 mods?
  16. Just finished Elex. It was the rumor that Elex 2 will be out later this year or early next that prompted me to replay. There were a couple of things I forgot about the game. Namely times where environmental audio was so loud that I couldn't hear what was being said (I don't usually turn subtitles on because I'm visual textual and will spend the whole time reading the subtitles rather than watching the animation). There were probably a good dozen quests I didn't feel like doing and dropped. I had three talent points I didn't even assign because I was so OP. Anyone who wants to play Elex on PC, I highly recommend the fog remover mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/elex/mods/3 Now moving on to Bard's Tale 4 elusively.
  17. Find out next time on Desperadoes 3!
  18. I'm about 50 hours into Elex. Finally sided with a faction (berserkers). Siding with a faction wasn't the big boost in power that it was the first time I played Elex. I think that's because I was around level 35 by the time I did all the other content that I wanted to engage with before joining. A weird thing I noticed due to the way I'm played this time is that I found out the 'secret' location of an important NPC by moving the main plot too far forward and and forgetting to follow up on a few B plots. I, as a player, already knew were this guy was, but it was really fourth wall breaking that another quest giver was like, "we need a hero" and then I magically knew where this guy was. Also, the first time I played I found Nasty very amusing. This time, though, she's just annoying mostly 'cause . . . She. Won't. Stop. Complaining. The first go around she was novel in that her character was prickly. But her personality really wears on you a second time. Besides, I'm trying to romance Caja anyway. There are five other games I'm playing on and off. Chief among those are Bard's Tale 4 and Avernum: Escape From the Pit. Bard's Tale 4 is great once you get past the poor quality graphics and really dive into the game. It's part rpg and part puzzle game. Neither part is great but the sum of those parts is much better than it has any right to be. I had to, of course, play as a bard. My character is using the Brian Fargo portrait and uses the bemused voice. You don't have a whole lot of dialog trees and you can't really role play. Instead voices are determine what your character will say in ambient dialog--usually observational stuff. My character says some incredibly dumb things which fits as I get him hammered every fight. I suspect even if Ned the Dead survives Skara Brae, his liver won't. Snow in summer. Ice in my heart. Death's cold fingers. Tear us apart. P.S. It also has one of the best soundtracks in resent years.
  19. Just sent a message to melkathi to brush up on his Mordheim skills.
  20. I hate how imgur will say I'm logged in when I'm not. I hate even more how I get confused every time.
  21. You have to embrace Darkest Dungeon before it will embrace you. Just think if it as a retail middle management sim. Your job is to squeeze every drop of use you can out of these unskilled workers. Leaving the dry, insane, and with a drinking problem. And then you move on to the next one. Once you start thinking of it like that, DD is great.
  22. Is anyone else having trouble finding their imgur gallery? Is there a purge going on or something?
  23. 'Alive' is a strong word for a guy DC killed off several times now.
