Not buying it (as in, reserving judgment; I wish I didn't buy it already but alas) but that would actually be pretty awesome, considering the sorry state the game is in. It would be nice of them to (finally) point out themselves the fact that they released a game in beta state with non-existent AI. It would be be the acknowledgement from devs that we can't seem to get on these supposedly "support" forums. Although it might be too sad, if not downright infuriating because they're so true. I might end up throwing my keyboard across the room at those zingers because it's as if the game itself is mocking us, "You paid $60 for a broken game and STILL shelf out another $25 for more bugs?! Hahahahahahahah gotchu twice you ****!!!"

Great job? Did you actually play the game (or read this very section you're in *right now*)? Every patch introduces more problems. We're 6 months and an expansion after launch. And still the game has more bugs than a CCC indie title. Nothing works. If your game isn't even working why rush to make an expansion? Is this their idea of keeping up with their KS promise, by half-assing everything and delivery a sub-par product both times? "Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing." - Ron Swanson

In my old build Sagani had Graceful Retreat. When retraining the option is removed from selectable talents. Tested on my PC (priest) and Pallegina. Graceful Retreat is learnable at level 1. Also tested on customized ranger character, Graceful Retreat is no longer available. Is this working as intended? If so, can we get a detailed list of which generic talents are available to what class?

Ranged fighter viable?
LaSpeakeasi replied to Malignacious's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
They are never fire-and-forget builds. You still need to re-position them quite for max effectiveness. Because of the 2m backstab range. -
So why can't Defender be active at the same time as Savage Attack or Cautious Attack? Why does Gallant Focus turn off Vicious Aim rather than simply not stack it's bonus? A better solution seems like nearby allies should get the bonus, but not the Ranger if you don't want them to stack. I wouldn't be surprised if the modals simply bugged out and don't work as intended. Why don't you post this on the bug forum and see if you'd get a dev response?

Upload the save file onto dropbox and post the link here. A dev may take a look for you. -
The Grieving Mother

That's a given, I think. GM implies that her glamour is not something she can willingly suppress - it may even be a natural talent. (My headcanon is that she's the reincarnation of Eothas.) Wouldn't that make her a teenager? Eder fought in the Saint's War as a young man and he looks to be in his 30s tops. Maybe she came out of the Les Enfantes Terrible project alongside Solidus Snake... -

Taunts are needed
LaSpeakeasi replied to sapientNode's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ive also read that WM mooks have an ability to vault over a frontliner, knock them prone, and land near a backliner for facemelting. So I'm curious about something. Lets say your in a bottleneck and you have your tank up front, maybe the offtank behind them, then the rest all in a line down a hallway. Can the mook vault all of your party members at the same time, knocking them all prone on the way to the backliner? Or can they only vault one party member at a time? Do you mean Flagellant's Path? It has a range of only 2m, and I don't recall Zahua knocking anyone prone or my guys being knocked prone by it. The rogue also has a similar abilty that let's you trick-switch position with an enemy, potentially landing in the face of your backliner. That's why traps are useful. And the more you bottleneck the more you should use them. -

If your purpose is specifically tanking, and if you have decent perception. I recommend the Rose of Salthollow + Interrupt Blow (the talent). Morning Stars can interrupt and entire second. It worked really well on my Pallegina, especially if you give her a perception boost item as well as that WM cape that prevents flanking.

In PoE it feels less of a problem. BG2 had to be that way because low level adventures in AD&D are really low level. Wizards can do next to nothing with their one spell per day. PoE flattened that power curve considerably. But if they do stick to Unity and doesn't significantly fix the gameplay much, then it means for PoE2 we have to repeat the level 1-14. I'm not sure that's what I want. Unless they change the protagonist; which I'm also not very sure about.

Whether or not the enchantment system as it is now is robust enough is beside the point of this request. No matter how many options we have, this request is about having the freedom to not be locked into the option you previously applied. And that is a completely different topic than "whether crafting should be in the game" or "we should have more/less/as many options". It seems people who don't want overidable enchantments also don't want enchanting to be a thing at all anyway. And seeing how we aren't going to get rid of enchantment at least for WM2. I say we go ahead and at least give some people what we want.

The Grieving Mother
LaSpeakeasi replied to Alexander1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
That's actually a pretty good explanation. At one point she does mention how she had to use more and more Cipher powers to shield her from the people who were "onto her" but I was curious if there was a more specific explanation that I'd missed. Still a good breakdown, though. Who's "onto" her anyways? She lived in a village. Yes she essentially murdered a young mother and but her guilt in the matter was never proven. And she admittedly ran due to her paranoia. Villages typically don't have that kinda of resolve or resources to track her down this far away. I just find it unacceptable that she continually does this to people she travels with. This thread is making me realize I should've gotten rid of her when I had the chance. -
This is a feature that has been requested multiple times before (e.g. here and here.) With WM2 being the end of the PoE I figured this issue requires a definitive address from the devs. Personally I think freedom to customize is pretty integral to a modern RPG experience. And it should be integrated into PoE if we want it to be remembered for the best version possible. Seems like people who oppose the idea don't want enchantment to be in the game in the first place. And people who do enchant would rather have the option than not. And since we probably aren't going to remove enchantment whatsoever, might as well go ahead and make enchantments overidable. Would appreciate a dev response / update on the design meeting where this was supposedly brought up.

But times have changed. Younger RPG players require constant reward/stimulation. And older players that played BG2 simply don't have the time to play it like we used to. I could spend hours on end trying to get that +3 scimitar in BG and it would be fun. When I was 12. Now if I had 2 hours to spend on a game, I better get something good. Or it feels like I've wasted my time. That rare and unique loot system still has a place in indie gaming. But PoE isn't an indie game. Nobody plays games like that anymore. Well I guess one. You.

Wait. But if I upgrade that to superb later does the Burn DR go up retrospectively, or stay the same?

Save game data lost / rollback

Yep. It happened to me recently too, so it's apparently still a bug.
