  1. I have been loading up the save after every patch to see if it was resolved, but it still occurs. I suppose whatever happened to cause the spirits to go hostile could have been patched out, but since they're already hostile towards me, I'm stuck. Unfortunately, I don't have a save from before I did whatever I did that caused them to attack me. I really appreciate you looking into this. I don't think there are many other developers out there, if any, that would pay attention to a bug reported by just a couple of players. Every bug is important to us! I know its been a long time, but do you recall on how the spirits became hostile in the first place? I have loaded you save and it is indeed in a state where the spirits are attacking you. I have written up a report and added it to our database. Though, if you were to make a new game, you shouldn't have this problem happen again. Thank you for your support and patience! I think I know. In one of the central corridors on this level there were a whole bunch of Animats (just outside the room with one of the parts the Vithrack colony asks you to collect). Those spirits don't materialize until you get to that room. So it's likely they will materialize in the middle of the animat fight. It's very possible that you attack a spirit with an AoE attack not noticing they were there, and they ended up turning hostile.
  2. Anyone can have a high mechanics. Rogues are not an end game necessity. I just completed a PoTD Trial of Iron run without one. That being said they are amazing damage dealers and a compliment to any team. Also like he said Chanters are the bard equivalent. They can cast Paralyze and summon "spells" also some damage dealing ones. I know they are called invocations but they are still types of spells. The highest skill check in the game is 15. For anyone who isn't a rogue (and not using Brighthollow bonus) that's every single skill point you ever have in the game. You won't even have points left for athletics. And the party's athletics is only as good as the lowest member. Rogues start with 3 mechanics. By the time they get to 15 they still have 23 points left. The starting skill bonus makes ALL the difference.
  3. Nope. The devs confirmed it's a bug. They're not in the game. Maybe til the next patch.
  4. > Still believing in the wage gap myth in 2015 > Funny you should use that picture. Did you know Patrick Stewart is militant feminist?
  5. You see, people like you is the reason why we should never censor any opinion, no matter how offensive or non-factual they may be. I can't wait to share this on Facebook and have a laugh at everything you said in there.
  6. So you admit that the most important thing you see in a person is their gender? No wonder you think equality equals preferential treatment. "I call this person a woman because I think she has a uterus and I've always made up my mind about what her role in society should be and I will treat her according to how I expect her to behave. If she dare defy my expectation i.e. demand same pay as men or have sex with whoever she wants she must be asking for preferential treatment. I can't allow that because I'm too narrow-minded to adapt my behavior to accommodate other people." News flash. We live in a world of preferential treatment. Men are treated preferably to women. Heterosexuals are treated preferably to gays. Sis-gender are treated preferably than trans-gendered. Stop pretending life is better than nursery school. In today's Victim society if you can't claim victim status you're SOL. I'm a white male so everyone can treat me badly since I can not be a victim since I don't happen to be homosexual or even dress up like a woman from time to time. The statistics used to show that women are paid less do NOT take into account that many women choose to leave the workforce for a period of years to raise their kids and also generally choose careers that allow for more time away from work in order to care for their families. If you limit the comparison to career ladder types who work 60+ hours per week in high pressure fields you'll see that the pay is comparable. When women start to choose to raise their families via a voice on the phone like many successful men do you'll see similar payscales. I keep hearing this about straight white men being treated badly. I feel for you bro. And I gotta ask, what did people do? Because for me, being treated badly means working in a coffee shop to pay for college and have random stranger telling me to "**** off back to China or wherever I came from". Or walking down the street in hot pants, being cat called and threatened with rape; Or hearing politicians on TV saying people like me should be stoned. Must be hard to have something like that happen to you *just because* you're straight, white and male. No seriously. Let's stop doing that to each other. Or in the words of Louis CK, "what can you possibly say to a white man that would hurt his feelings?" Funny you should mention that about women's career choices. Because: 1) How many high profile CEOs do you see are men and how many are women? 2) Why do you think women take time from their careers to raise children? Could it be because society expect them to? How come men don't get to take a few years off and raise children without being frowned upon? Your points basically just argue themselves.

  8. No it was the other way around, the people who were offended by the poem and demanded its removal were 'progressive' activists who considered the poem 'transphobic'. You can see both the original and the replacement poem on the wiki page, and judge for yourself. Wow. The second poem was even more offensive. Like I said, Sensitive messages are always about the listener, not the communicator. If this person thinks his poems can be misread at all, he doesn't know the first thing about writing poems. And the 2nd poem implies he or OBS isn't sorry at all. They are just digging the hole even deeper. Where most people see "hahaha that Firedorn person is such an ass" someone with a personal connection with trans community may say "yeah I know someone who loved someone would rather die than sleep with them". That's the beauty of lyrical literature. Both readings are right. Don't defend it. Just learn your lesson and move on. OBS did a disservice by censoring the situation. The PC police may think they've won. But in reality at least the 1st poem acknowledged the fact that transgender people exist. And that transphobic people also exist. And a discussion can be had about representation; now, there are no trans people in PoE at all. My previous criticism was that OBS avoids controversy. And you never see Bioware do that. Because when people complain about homophobia in Bioware games, they can always point to the fact that your PC can specifically be gay in Dragon Age. OBS doesn't have the same track record. Yes you can hire a male prostitute in a brothel in Ondra's Gift. You could already do that in Neverwinter 13 years ago.
  9. Nah it's a western thing. I speak Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese. All of those language (in spoken forms) don't have gendered pronouns at all. And people communicated just fine. Or in Japanese's case, the gender is specific to the pronoun not the person. A grown man can just easily use the pronoun for a young female, if he wants to take on the social disposition of one. And it would be socially acceptable. I also happen to think letting controversies quietly die will ultimately do equality a disservice. Even if sometimes it hurts, it's still important that people talk about it. That gives the trans community visibility and a voice. And it's better than avoid them and pretending they don't exist. I always think of sensitivity-related issues as this: the ones affected make up all the rules. Others just follow w/o questioning. I tell **** / race / woman jokes all the time. I'm not gonna stop telling them. Because I find them funny and I'm secure enough about my solidarity with them. But I will still have to apologize if someone says they're offended. It doesn't mean I think I did something wrong. It just means I care about how they feel. That's how human decency works.
  10. It offends me that it's 2015 and the mere existence of trans-gendered people offends some people. I may sound sarcastic but I'm also kinda serious. What were they supposed to do kill themselves? Would that make the conservative man-children happy in their little imaginary man-child land? And OBS let the man-children bully them into censoring their ****? I've compared OBS unfavorably before to Bioware before in that regard. And this just proves my point further. PS. as you should never referred to a trans-gendered person in gendered pronouns without asking his or her first. There will be the odd Caitlin who prefers his own pronouns.
  11. Probably an oversight. Dunryd Row and the Valian Embassy were the only 2 factions to even acknowledge the end of chapter II.
  12. I find Pallegina to be a more competent tank than Eder. Because of her high perception, I gave her Rose of Salthollow and Interrupting Blow and just watch her stopping mobs dead in their tracks like nobody's business. Of course, you need a lot of bottlenecking because she isn't as sturdy as Eder and can't handle being ganged upon nearly as good; but my playstyle is all smoke em and bag em so it works for me. Zahua, and monks in general, don't require as much micro as people say. Some builds focus on Wound abilities and they do require micro. But you can choose only talents that passively give bonus proportionate to wound gain. Then monks become pretty much slightly squishier fighters with a few more tricks up their sleeves. I also have Zahua and my PC is a Berath Priest designed for tanking (just spam consecrated ground and watch him stand in a door way blocking every hit thrown at him and generate right back). So I'm pretty much always running a human wall. Eder just seemed overkill, even though he's technically the best tank.
  13. Evidently they don't. Because the beta and official patch were virtually the same. off the top of my head I could think of 1-2 bugs reported during beta that ended up fixed in official release. The vast majority were just left there. It's hard to imagine them being so unprofessional as to having read the beta reaction still decided to go ahead with the official release. In fact, one of my 2.02 beta ticket just got an acknowledgement today. It was posted weeks ago. “Once in a while" may be acceptable for your typical B-listed studio. But for the indie-mongol OBS is trying to position themselves as these days, that is sorely inadequate. I was pretty active on Bioware's forum around the ME2~ME3 interval. David Gaider may not have taken player suggestions. But he was there. His posting frequency was on par with the most active OBS dev on this forum. Before the ME3 controversy man-children used to bitch to him all the time for including gay romance in his games. He would address them, sometimes flat out told them off. And I gotta give him credit for that, even though I hated ME3's ending myself. Not because of it being what it was, but because of the promise specifically made to players that we'll get to shape the story's outcome. Then Bioware broke it. I always thought the reason was they envisioned ME as a trilogy but by ME3 they knew they needed to make more games. So they weren't able to leave the ending open-ended as promised.
  14. Skyrim has a huge fan base. I imagine it would be hard to keep track of every opinion, or do anything about most feedback without upsetting others. OBS on the other hand, just comes across as lazy TBH. Their devs don't even seem to read this official forum. There's not a lot of activities here. It's not that hard to read most if not every thread posted. But they obviously don't. Even the bug report threads sometimes get left unresponded for weeks, even months, if at all. There are even smaller studios that do this community involvement thing much better. HBS comes to mind. Even OBS' buddies over at Skyshine. Bedlam may be a mediocre game but they were so quick to acknowledge it. Being on Kickstarter doesn't automatically make you an indie favorite, ya know. OBS still behaves very much like a stuck-up major studio.
  15. I would think 'being revived 5 times' is much worse. Am I supposed to have my people die on purpose?
  16. I can't PC's customized hot keys to line up from F1 to F12. They line up out of order from F7 onwards as you can see in the attached screenshot. I've tried unbinding the hot keys and rebinding them in the order I desired. But F7-F12 continues to line up in reverse order regardless of the order I bound them in, PC is the only one with that problem. Everyone else is working fine. 17. It seems to be universal. Happens after every fight. As seen in the attached screenshot. I have the skull equipped therefore have the spellbind summon. But the skull is no where to be seen. It stayed behind after an earlier encounter. If you reload the save and enters a new area, it will go back to functioning normally until the next time you enter a fight.
  18. I don't think *uses* her power per se. When you discuss her cipher abilities with her she mentions she has no cipher training and doesn't consider herself one. So it's possible her cipher abilities yields itself entirely without her conscious control. Which would explain why she puts on the caul involuntarily and can't take it off if she wanted to; and how she doesn't have access to her own memory without the Watcher reading it for her. They are all unwitting defense mechanisms of hers.
  19. Here's a question for the people who started WM1 at lv12 right before they jumped into the pit: do you get enough XP to reach the lvl 14 XP cap? I'm keeping a similar save myself for WM2. There's virtually nothing left to do in the main game and WM1. And I wonder if WM2 will have enough content for me to level from lvl 14 to lvl 16. I did WM1 mid-game. It didn't feel exceptionally long. I believe you needed around 25,000 exp points to level from lvl 12 (66,000) to lvl 14 (91,000). I'm pretty sure there weren't enough content in WM1 to earn 25,000XP, excluding Concelhaut's castle. I would rather not have to redo any of the main game or WM1 quests to reach the cap.
  20. Yes. This is about 30min prior to the Sagani bug happened in Celestial Sapling. I went back to Northweald and did Sagani's companion quest. Then went back to inn. That's when I discovered the naked Sagani there. I have since progressed from this save without doing anything differently from the first time and thankfully wasn't able to reproduce the bug. So it seems to occur at random: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mp87wrjzm1i003o/5261c5b57ee34a1084f1fc5dc3d93636%2019823672%20TempleofHylea.savegame?dl=0
  21. ...I mean, anyone? It just feels like a missed opportunity to throw in yet another homage to the IE games. They don't even have to be voiced. If only they could have him make some specific remarks at certain spots of the game, or (even better) have him join in on the party banters (similar to Zahua's oneliners). I understand those two's personalities are nothing alike. But you never know. Maybe Concelhaut has a wicked sense of humor too, albeit a more laidback, cynical kind of humor. Like the Louis CK of . It's not too late OBS. put that in WM2 or PoE2. He could even be the one to do the 'previously on PoE' segment for the sequel. What do ya'll think?
  22. It`s a pity. Have to begin from the start of WM (( Yeah I find myself frantically making new saves after that happened, just in case...
  23. So it is NOT normal and intended effect, that chanter can only finish 4 phrase and stuck? Can You check a chanter in Your game? I would appreciate. I've cast Summon Drake before with 5 might. In my experience Kana likes to cast Summon Skeleton as soon as he reaches 3 phases chanted. So maybe he cast a spell without you noticing? It will be easier if you can submit a save file for the devs...
