  1. Now that everyone can heal (thanks to the survival ability I think)... it sort of weakens the need for lay-on-hands or priest healing. Also means a lot of usless abilities like field triage are really completely useless. The knockdown wounds are nice, but I think they should apply to monsters too. Some times they get healed or have some kind of second chance ability so I think they should suffer the same penalties as PCs.
  2. I just killed Concelhaut. It was pretty tough and went on for ages. Half the party was dead - they died in the last few minutes - and I had just me, a wizard and a fighter and a paladin. After we finished the last of his helpers off he wasn't doing anything much just standing there. I guess he ran out of spells - it was a long fight. but he didn't seem to attack me much though after. He pretty much just stood there in his room doorway, either that or my fighters armour was too tough and he couldn't get passed it. I was quite glad as I didn't want to have to have another go at killing him and my wizard was also almost out of spells. Is this a bug?
  3. I felt the same way about the magic at first, having come from the baldur's gate games, but after a while it gets better. Priest have really good spells later on and druids have amazing area affect spells. The wizards spells have nice magical weapons but i find a lot of the area affect spells unuseable as they are just cones or bolts or area effect spells that also affect allies. If some of these would affect foes only the wizard spells would be a lot more useful. But you can eventually learn to move your characters around and get some of these spells off. I like the mooring spell... attach that to an enemy and run around moving the beam part over his pals! The parasitic staff is also nice, especially at low level. It makes your wizard a killing machine. Things like fireballs are a bit dissapointing damage-wise. I haven't seen any bugs but I think the ?? by the creatures means that you don't know. I think your characters learn more about the creatures the more you encounter them. You can look in the bestiary about what you know of different creatures.

  5. What like old age?? We were in the middle of a fight, it must have been something I did!
  6. Well I did it on normal difficulty at level 13 after several attempts and 200+ hours of playing. I found it easier not to bother going to get scale breaker and just after the first conversation killing the two ardagons and then the priests and then the dragon. Wiped out half my party and all my summons but only took a few scrolls of paralysis, hold beasts and malestrom. It was best to send the summons to die and take the wing buffets and breath weapons. What's really annoying is that I have no idea anymore who killed it, it must be one of the hardest creatures but when I look at the toughest creatures killed by my party members I see things like priest (ewthigan or something similar) or forest lurkers! How can that be? ...whoever killed the arda dragon couldn't have killed anything else more powerful.
  7. Often unless I direct every single creature combat turns into something akin to the benny hill show with NPCs/PCs running aroung in circles around each other. Sometimes they change direction or others join in... sometimes enemeies start running in circles following my characters.It looks so stupid seeing paladins in armour carrying 2 handed swords running around an enemy tyring to find somewhere to stand next to him... the swords have extra reach, if I direct them I can get them to attack over thr heads of others without all the running around. It gets even worse when they all decide to change direction in the middle of their circle running.
  8. Haven' yet... maybe I shall but I was didn't like chanters or ciphers either. Maybe I shall try a party of classes I don' normaly take.

I just played a themed party: robin hood and his merry men Robin Hood, ranger with Aslan the lion as a companion Little John, fighter who uses a quarterstaff Azim the barbarian (prince of thieves) Maid Marion, a wizard, maybe druid would have been better Friar Tuck the priest Will Scarlet the rogue. That was fun! Another thing i do is theme characters, like I had a white wizard who specialized in casting freesze spells and doing freeze damage, or a druid who specialises in corrosive damamge and who buys items/weapons that do corrosive damage or have some ability that fit decay like bilestompers and rotfinger gloves, that ring that gives you fetid carcass and so on.

  12. Hi! I meant either create a custom group (that works for in the game like any predefined one - so you can specialize too if you are a fighter), or give everyone a focus at the start so at least then if you wanted two weapons that were in different groups you could do so with only one talent... I know you would then have loads of weapons but come on... you only get too slots, you can't use loads, it's a pain in the arse to swap them manually and you spend money enchanting them so I can't see people being to abuse having this extra focus group.
  13. Why can't we create are own weapon focus group (that could also be used by a fighter to specialise like the existing focuses)? I want to use certain weapon combos but they are sometimes spread over 2-3 focuses... currently so as not to make a talent half useless I end up using the weapons in that group (1 ranged, one hand-to-hand), but it's really annoying as for role-playing or just personal preference I may want a different weapon - it means if I take knight for the sword that person always uses a crossbow too as I don't want to lose the accuracy bonus by using a different ranged weapon, or I have to waste another talent just to get the ranged weapon I want. It also seems to be completely random as to why certain weapons are grouped together (like why all the implements are grouped together except one). I don't like guns and would prefer to be able to use bows instead. Is there anyway to suggest this? Or view what suggestions are being tracked by obsidian? Or maybe just give every PC/NPC a free weapon focus at character creation?
  14. There aren't many battle axes or hammers, are there any plans to add more unique axes? I want to play a dwarf fighter with dual battle axes but there are hardly any good axes, and the best is on lvl. 14 of the unending path... it takes forever to get
  15. Has anyone ever played without a rogue or wizard? Were there any problems by not having such NPCs in the party?
  16. Why can't everyone carry 4 weapon sets (like in icewinddale 2) or at least 3... I like to have a ranged weapon, and primary hand-to-hand and a secondary hand-to-hand either with more reach or doing a different damage type. I mean, I can carry 300 suits of armour and a weapons shop worth of arms, so why do I need to waste a skill slot when I level up buying the extra weapons slot. Are the any mods that give everyone 3 weapon slots?
  17. I have the ability... but it doesn't help much as everyone dies before they get one hit in... but level 12 is like the end of the game... what is the point in doing it then?

  20. I think this dragon is unkillable... I just get killed either by it or the 50 other creatures it sees to have with it... please someone help me kill it. All I find on youtube are cheats or people 50 of the same scrolls who have eaten 30 meals... surely there must be a way to kill the dragon and his friends without "cheating"? I'm on hard difficulty.
  21. I've seen something with a ring that should give the wearer combustable wounds... no one ever got that ability in my party.
  22. Please fix. That causes all kinds of problems.... like when your in a fight that is going quite well and a fireball bounces off through a wall and causes half the things in the dungeon to attack you from behind and block of your only way out!
