Massively disappointed by game 2, questions about mods and other Obsidian games

I wanted 6 characters, the same magic sytem. I disliked that everyone had magic like abillities... it made the more realistic fighters in poe1 seem like super heros along with everyone else. But, after many thousands of hours with deadfire I agree with @Boeroer, the deadfire sytem is much better than poe1 although the story and setting in poe1 were better. I also disliked the characters, how many there were and the strange names... i laughed when your character tells serafen that they can't cope with anymore names... that is exactly how I felt then too. Now though I would give anything for obsidian to re-release poe1 with the deadfire engine. It is now really difficult to go back to poe1.... the old graphics, interface and rules. I don't think you will get the mod you want, the engine and the way it plays can't be made to resemble poe1's

Ship combat balance needs work...
I just click "Close to Board"... I always found the fighting pointless and boring. If I do get caught in a fight I just jibe and sail away. The only thing I hate about the fights, if you turn tail and run you lose morale for 'fleeing a inferior enemy' also when it is 3 red skulls and 10 levels higher than you. That annoys the hell out of me.

Any guide to Grimoires?
There are so many in the game and I normally just use the same two or three. The DC sells loads that I never even bothered trying. Is there any guide on all the Grimoires and what kind of wizard each is best suited to?

Vengeful Grief Triggers when Play Dead/Deadly Surprise is used

Bloodmage MC and losing empower
Never played a Bloodmage, but thinking of trying it. As they lose empower, what happens to the second class? Do you still have empower that just affects the 2nd class or is the option gone completely? In this case would BS give back resources to the 2nd class? Or can the 2nd class never get back resources?

Marux Amanth lost it's worthy sacrifice ability - no longer shows up.
Thanks all, I decidd to give up the dagger and use my other weapons... I don't use the console so decided against that option. I have been playing for nearly 2200 hours and never seen this before. I hope I never do again either!

Ydwin uppgraded this dagger to worthy sacrifice but now it is gone. I have removed her from the party, reloaded etc. There is no sacrifice ability anymore. Is there any way to get worthy sacrifce back? Has anyone else had this happen? For some reason there is no explanation what worthy sacrifice does, I think this is the issue. I normaly use sacrifice to make fights like frightened child/Wael easier... This has never happened before

Simoc's Heart of Fury
Playing PoE1 for the first time in 4 years (potd upscaled) and keep getting killed by simoc. I don't remember him being this tough. He is a barbarian and so is my MC, but I can only use HoF once and it has no duration but Simoc's is happening every 5 seconds or so throughout the entire fight and has some duration that I can see counting down on him. Did he always have this permanent HoF? It's wiping out my entire party in seconds (level 13/14).

Island Aumaua affected by Slog zone
I never played an island aumaua before but wanted one for a fast moving mage slayer. On the first island my MC is being affected by the slog zone caused by the pool. Is this just an issue on the first island or will all slog zones affect my MC?

Best belt for healers
Is Physicker's Belt better for healers than Girdle of Maegfolc Might (+3 might) via a mod that adds PoE1 items to deadfire. MIght helps healing and damage where as the physicker's belt just affect healing you do. But maybe this also affects healing from other items that maybe might won't?

How to update a mod on steam?
I followed the guide here but when I click on the steam button I do not get the update option, instead it tries to upload a new mod. How can I get my mod updated? In case it matters, I had to reinstall my OS and everything including reinstalling steam. Is this why it wants to upload my mod as a new mod?

So is there any point to taking this ability? Does anyone ever use it?

Do abilities that let you move really fast also count to reducing recovery? Like Escape, Evasive Roll or Leap? I guess not? I will try counting the time whilst standing still, it's difficult when moving to tell if it is reducing faster or not.

Which upgrade do you all prefer for Lay on Hands?
I'm starting to like it more. As you say, if you have a char who needs to get off an important ability the last thing you want is to get interrupted, especially if surrounded. A Fury Druid empowering greater Malestrom, someone about to use Worthy Sacrfice - the last thing I want is for those to get cancelled. It gives the ability more utility, you don't just have to use it to heal but to make sure a character can do what you need them to do. I think maybe I shall pick it more often, I have a cipher at the moment in case I need Robust too

Which upgrade do you all prefer for Lay on Hands?
I have to say I really like GLoH... it has saved my life more often than any other healing character (priest/druid). It gives 2 sources of healing and boosts health and armour. Robust is pretty good if you are trying to go without a real healer in the party - often I find a Paladin and Cipher is enough to keep my parties alive and if I do have a priest it is one of the reason why I summon a spiritual ally
