  1. Since getting the latest version. Anyway to fix this? Also my barbarian can't go berserk either
  2. Is it actually possible? How? I summoned all the stuff I could summon... a few blights, spiders and beetles, she just breathed on everyting and everyone died without even landing a hit... I have only seen the thing killed on youtube using chanters to summon drakes and undead. Is the only way to kill it with a chanter in the party? Anyone got any tips for me?
  3. I don't want 3d... I love the 2d rendered BGs, like in BG2 and IWD2. There are pleanty of 3d games if you want to play them... I liked might an magic but I want this game to be like the old bioware games... 3d isn't better than 2d
  4. Are you planning to solo or play a full party? A high Int barbarian I think is generally advised in the context hof spreading debuffs (like stun or prone on crit) from his weapons through carnage in a party. The fighter build you're referring to is a pure tank build, which is ironic seeing the dumped Con, but a pure tank can become almost invincible (after, say, level 6, vs most level-appropriate fights) by focusing on passive defenses. If enemies hardly ever land a hit (let alone a crit) against him, his health simply won't drop enough for Con to matter. Note that this all applies to 1.0.6. The system has changed significantly in 2.0, which is still in beta and only available on Steam, but it will go live in about a week. Are you planning to play in 1.0.6 or 2.0? Hi. I want to make a full party... I thought I would try out having a barbarian and a fighter. If I don't have a high int is my barbarian useless? I really don't see this character having lots just for game mechanics, I don't won't him to be a smart as a wizard just to get carnage to be useable... could I just leave it at 10? Are the effects of lowering it very bad?
  5. I just completed the game and was thinking of trying again as a barbarian. I wanted some advice about making one and was quite surprised to see nearly every thread or web page suggesting that you should forget about CON and add intelligence... I never heard of intelligent barbarians before, but the land where PoE is set must be crawling with'em. The same wierdness happens with fighters... all the threads seem to suggest forgetting about CON/DEX and having fighters with high might, perception, and resolve... Doesn't this suggest that there is something wrong with the system? Are barbarians useless with low int? is the AoE for carnage so great that I should make one smart enough to be a wizard instead of investing in more dex or con? If a barbarian's abillities require high intelligence to b uesful/workable surely the system should be changed?
  6. I been doing this for ages to everyone I meet, but haven't seen any benefit. Does it actually have any point in games terms it'S getting real boring now.
  7. I think it would be good if the quest entries in the journal specified not only who it was that gave me the quest but also where they are when I met them... sometimes it just says a name, but a few days later when I have actually completed the quest I have no idea where they are, sometimes you get the area name, but it would still be good. Better would be to create a marker fo sorts on the map that links directly to the quest entry in the journal.
  8. IS that castle the only stronghold? I was playing a paladin... is that why I got given a castle? Would I have had a different stronghold as a priest or thief?
  9. Hmm.. yeah I miss those flame arrows and arrows of acid So if Anyone can carry anything and we can carry unlimited amounts of anything what is the logic behind limiting me to carrying 4 days worth of camping supplies? I'm carrying around 50 suits of armour, but a 5th days worth of food is some how too heavy? lol Also do game shops act like BG/BG2 - in that game it didn't matter how poor the shopkeeper was he always had 150000 gold coins lying around to buy the contents of your bag of holding with! I was rather hoping things would be different in this game!
  10. Thanks for the tips! Maybe you can also tell me how encumbrance works? I haven't found away to drop anything... right now i have a mage carrying 10 suits of armour but it hasn't appeared to have affected him, can anyone carry anything? How can I remove stuff? How big is the stash? What is the logic behind it? Is it a something like a bag of holding that I found somewhere? Also is there no concept in the game of ammunition for ranged weapons? Does everyone just have unlimited arrows?
  11. HI... I used to play games but havent for about 11 years. The last game I plaid was BG2 so I bought the new version from steam and played that all through march... I have now bought PoE... and feel like something is wrong or missing. Don'T get me wrong, it's amazing, the games depth is cool compared to BG2 but... Characters can do anything with any weapon or amour, everyone seems to have thief skills... I have all these different classes in my party (after about 5 hours play) but I don't really feel attached to any compared to BG as they all seem the same to me. They all seem to do what each other can do, sure there are a few new abilities and such but it seems not to make that much difference to the game...basically once combat starts it seems like you can forget about using ranged weapons - everyone just runs at each other and are standing next to each other before my bows have been fired... then there are the priests. I have 2 in my party, but I have yet to have any use for healing spells, the same for my paladin and lay on hands. I just don't understand why they don't seem to do anyting to the health... what'S the point in healing endurance it rcovers so quickly after a fight that by the time a priest has cast a spell there is nothing left to heal. I bought nights training when I leveled up my paladin but really I can't see the point in it, it hasn't seemed to have done anything and when priest join your party with 2 handed swords I have to wonder why I even became a paladin. I did think about hiring a thief - but why? My paladin has been picking locks for me for the last 5 hours... who needs a thief.. what advantages would it bring my party? Maybe I just need to play it a bit longer but seems like so much effort went into making something as immersive as possible that all the fun was left out - at least as far as characters go...if everyone can pretty much do everything what's the point in selecting classes... I also haven't seen that much benefit from my wizard either... sure he lets of a few spells every once in a while but after firing one spell the fight is either over or he is engaged in melee and has to use his weapon. Anyone else who came from playing the bioware games feel like this or is it just me? Maybe I just need to give it more time?
  12. I thinking about buying pillars of eternity. I use ubuntu linux, does pillars of eternity work on linux?
