  1. I have thought as I've been playing that they should go back to the equipment stacking rules for PoE 1 -- weapon boosts stack with everything, but boosts (of the same kind) from other items don't stack together. That could solve this problem. Similarly, they should go back to the PoE 1 behavior of when you clone your character (like with Monk's Dichotomous Soul), you don't clone all the items they are wearing. Really, some of the problems can be solved just by applying fixes they'd already done in the previous game. That is mildly annoying; you'd think a game like this would build on the final version of the previous game, rather than repeating mistakes that they'd already fixed in the previous game.
  2. Ah, accuracy bonus sucks compare to other rings. I thought he really found +Fire Power ring. Ok, I was misremembering the accuracy bonus as a PL bonus. My bad.
  3. How did you do that? I assume you used the console; what commands did you use? I've been using AddAbility to add a subclass, but it doesn't show up the way yours does.
  4. Or you could select "has inspiration: might" and check the box for "not". Then it will only cast frenzy when you don't have a might inspiration -- that is, when frenzy wears off.
  5. I have Aloth as a wizard/fighter using a two-hander with cleave stance, and he's a badass. That'll work with Citzal's Lance even better when I get it, but it works pretty well with a couple of two-hander uniques that do aoe damage already like the lance does (I'm using the Whispers of the Endless Paths, but the aoe polleaxe would work too). He doesn't do quite as much damage as my Eder fighter/rogue dual-wielding, but he's much sturdier because of the wizard buffs. Overall, he feels really powerful.
  6. Hey, there are a lot of complaints about difficulty. So here's a challenge for modders: can any of you make some difficulty mods? Some ideas: increase enemy damage, increase enemy armor and penetration. Would that be hard to do?
  7. If you do that, I recommend a Kind Wayfarer -- you can heal with Flames of Devotion instead of using Lay on Hands. That's how I built Pallegina, and it is great.
  8. I second (or third, or fourth) the suggestion about Berath's Curses. Some random ideas for curses: (1) Double and triple enemy damage. (2) Modify level scaling - to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6 etc. above your level. If you already have level scaling, it shouldn't be that hard to just tell it to calculate based on your level +1 or +2 or so on, right? (3) Disable healing for your own party. Disable summoning for your own party. (4) Disable resting (away from ship or inn).
  9. Here's another suggestion: in addition to making level scaling give bonuses to armor and penetration, add armor and penetration bonuses to the PotD stat bonuses. That'll make you have to care more about penetration and armor on PotD, which is what you want (having to master all the mechanics).
  10. Here are some productive ideas: (1) Add more enemies, and tougher enemies, to lots of encounters. I want that screen full! (2) Make level scaling upward increase armor and penetration in addition to other statistics. (3) I second the suggestion that enemies apply more afflictions and inspirations. (4) Revert to the gear-stacking rules of PoE 1. Right now, a ring of protection stacks with another ring of protection. Disallow that. I'll post more if I think of more.
  11. Eder as a fighter/rogue and Aloth as a fighter/wizard are both working well for me in this role. The fighter/wizard is super sturdy (with AI programmed to cast all the self-buffs), and he's actually right close behind the fighter/rogue in terms of total damage.
  12. Sawyer literally addressed this BEFORE the official release, after the initial streams of gameplay registered the concern: https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/173590363081/cohcarnage-didnt-reload-on-potddid-you-tuned-down
  13. But here I think he's referring to the Shieldbearer addition to lay on hands that functions the same way as Barring Death's Door -- prevents death for a short period. What's funny about that is I've never heard anyone ever say that ability is overpowered. I remember a lot of people saying it was possibly the least desirable of all the paladin subclass abilities. I'm playing a Shieldbearer/Chanter, and it isn't even in the top 10 of my most powerful abilities.
  14. I use them both as Heralds (Paladin/Chanters) and just use different auras and chants -- there are more than enough to go around. i use Zealous Focus/Mith Fyr/Deflection chant on my main guy, Zealous (exalted) endurance/ancient memory/weakening chant on Pallegina. There are even more great chants coming up to choose from. Party buffs galore!
  15. One thing to consider: with the shortened duration on the beckoner summons, it is pretty challenging to keep summons up all the time, and that problem gets worse with the higher-tier summons since they cost more phrases. Mine (with high intelligence) can keep wurms up all the time no problem (cost 2 phrases, same duration as the higher-tier summons), and can just barely keep skeletons (cost 2 phrases, shorter duration) and ogres (cost 3 phrases, same duration as wurms) up all the time. Anything higher level than that I won't be able to keep up all the time. I take that to be a great argument for a pally/beckoner, since if you want to keep your summons up at all times, you'll want to focus on mid-to-low summons (ogres and below) anyway, which you'll get easily and early as a multiclass. And you'll get all the paladin goodness too. Now, if you want to be a non-beckoner summoning chanter (like a troubadour using brisk recitation), that would be more plausible to use as a single-class and go for the higher-level summons, since a troubadour can get the phrases needed for the higher-level summons much more quickly.
  16. But the problem is that I can't get Threshing Aura even when I've met all the stated requirements. The only other time I've seen that is when one of the other enchantments is a prerequisite (so you have to get it first). But the only other enchantment, as I said, seems to be incompatible, not a prerequisite.
  17. Has anyone managed to get the Threshing Aura (party damage boost) upgrade for Xoti's lantern? I have all the ingredients for it, but it is greyed out. So I'd assume that means that the other upgrade - Light of the Dawnstar - is a prerequisite for it. But when I get Light of the Dawnstar, the Threshing Aura upgrade disappears, indicating they were exclusive upgrades. So I see no way to get the Threshing Aura upgrade. Anybody figured this out?
  18. Passives stack, actives don't. Stoic steel and inspired defenses are on the passive side of the tree, they stack with each other and everything else. Zealous endurance and gilded enmity are actives, so they'll stack with the passives but not with each other. I've never seen an attribute checked in dialogue; dialogue seems only to check skills. Scripted interactions, on the other hand, check both skills and attributes. I haven't seen resolve checked too much; might and perception are often checked.
  19. Oh, I see. I got that. It only lasts until the next rest, right? I can see how keeping that buff up would be important for this build; it might matter enough to make me care not to just rest whenever I have an injury. That would be nice -- a reason to care about limiting resting.
  20. Also there's a watcher only buff you can get in the first village that adds +50% healing so I'm assuming with buffs like that and might you can easily get it up to 10hp per second. Tell me about this buff; I didn't come across it. How do you get it? Agree with you about the resolve. A handful of points of deflection is way less important than the extra AoE and duration on the healing (from Int) and the extra healing from might, and easy to make up.
  21. Very nice. The medium shield that emanates a healing aura, which you can upgrade, will fit perfectly with this build. (You can buy it in Neketaka, at the Dark Cupboard, I believe.) The singing saber (which you buy at the same place), which you can upgrade to emanate an aura that increases action speed for every held chanter phrase, also fits nicely with a chanter build that isn't spending phrases on invocations, like this one. The trick with that is that your max phrases held is just the level of your highest invocation, so you have to buy some invocations on level up to increase your max phrases held. P.S. Where did you find the Reckless Brigandine? I haven't run across it.
