  1. Haha, I asked about this shield ages ago, wondering if it helps vs dragon flames.^^
  2. This happens with potions too, and is super annoying. You can't delete threads here, sadly.
  3. Yeah, there is no dps paladin. Not compared to other classes, at least.
  4. Just beware, there is no such a thing as a "tank" wizard. The spells do the tanking for you, so max Intelligence is for example more important than Resolve. I just started a solo wizard and I think not many people would argue it's the strongest solo PotD class out there.
  5. So I just remembered, there is such a thing as an AI script.^^ For maximum laziness I did a fight without any micro and even though some of my guys stood still and did nothing due to pathing I killed a phantom.^^ In future I will let them run into the fight and see what the AI does and correct possible mistakes, but AI is sooo good for this specific group, since their auto attacks don't really matter and chants are cast anyway.^^ Vid:
  6. I feel like they don't but haven't done extensive research. ;P It's not even close to the strongest party you could have, but it's so simple I just love it.
  7. Yea often even better than phantoms and the corpse exploding thingie is also fun, should have used it instaed of phantom.^^
  8. So I killed the first Skuldr King in Temple with my hirelings being at level 2 and my PC 3, Only my PC has a ring of deflection. The wussy even ran away midfight, which I never witnessed before in this game.^^
  9. Those kind of fighters are hard to kill, but they just don't do much damage. I did the regrets worth trading quest in Stalwart village with my pala yesterday (uploading right now) and in the fight in the temple theres among other enemies 2 Ondra shieldbearers with unbroken. One of them also has 89 deflection. First I died, trying to kill those first I took massive damage, then I killed all the squishies first and left the 2 fighters for last, guess what, they do NO damage to my level 8 pala even tho they are 2 and I'm weakened from killing at least 6 others guys before them, constantly disengaging (taking no damage whatsoever). If I fight humans, apart from wizards rogues do most damage to me, just deep wounds itself i so op, not even factoring in sneak attacks.
  10. True that, but still no competition to rogue and I guess the 3 Might rogue was a player char to begin with.^^
  11. Eder sucks. Seriously, even a hired fighter is not a damage monster by any means. When I played my 3 chicks party I had a fighter and picked all the damage talents, while being as defensive as possible and was gravely disappointed. A rogue outshines that easily and if you take Eder into the mix who doesn't even ahve good stats...
  12. You don't start BG2 with a level 1 char. Ranger gets good once he can permabind people maybe he/she referred to that. Completing the game means you kill more dangerous enemies like Dragons. While almost every caster can do that with ease, martial classes have it hard if they don't want to cheese, barbarian has it very hard vs Adra Dragon for example. Paladin is the best purely martial class for doing all content, wizard the best caster.
  13. Nice, thx for testing. :D. So for me 5 chanters will cast dragon and one Courage. :D:D:D
  14. But it's 12(!) Ogres. You can pretend they are the dozens... dumb as they are. Wut, I didn't even notice that.^^ Those can kill the Adra dragon while the chanters stay back. :D
  15. I agree with most of your points, but the cipher is one of the most awesome solo classes for PoTD and was also my first completed game solo. You might find my most recent vids useful they are all after Ver 2.02 dropped: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzscMCQ3321tZnhMkVkMjshoDKzyRRf2s It's no guide but shows you how to solo PoTD.
  16. Level 4 chant: Her Courage Thick as Steel Please tell me this doesn't stack... Wait, please tell me it does. :D
  17. You can have two games open, but I tend to just play 2 hours on no ToI and then replay that part on ToI.
  18. Yea, those skuldr kings cry for rings of deflection.^^ 6 Ogres will be fun, but I think 6 dragon chants will evaporize most foes before I can summon.
  19. True, tho depending on personal playstyles some people including me, play their party chars quite similar to solo. In Pillars your attributes don't really define whether you play ranged or melee for example, so whether you want more defense or are ok with squishy is totally down to personal taste.
  20. It actually is not that different from a normal playthrough with reloads, when you failed. You play the part where you don't fail twice, that's true.
  21. Hmm, MIG for the self-heal, INT for the duration-based things? What if you build it entirely around modals? Well even the self heal is duration based. As long as you don't solo it doesn't matter anyway. You can definitely build it around modals then. If you solo you'll look for max efficiency and since fights are longer you want long durations and since 1 char doesn't do a lot of damage you want to maximise that too.
  22. It's actually not that hard. You just need two saves one ToI and one not. Find a 100% working startegy for a fight on the normal save, adapt it to the TOI save, done. It's not really different from reloading on a normal save.
