  1. Yea only opened chests/discovered hidden loot fix what loot you get, entering the location is np.
  2. I would keep your current setup for pala and fighter till level 13 and Sacred Immolation, then switch it around to shield for pala try to maximise your defenses and once your cipher get's mindweb you put on an item with + 50 to defenses while prone and prone your pala with your priest after he used SI, then the cipher can cast mindweb and all your party will have the palas defense +50 and while SI still does damage while the pala is prone your 1h weapon doesn't matter too much since he is not attacking. Best 1h weapon to use with a shield is Drawn in spring cuz the wounding isn't affected by DR of the enemies. Sanguine is probably best on fighter. Best dual wield combo for barb is Godansthunyr main and We Toki off-hand for stuns and prones in AoE. Unlabored Blade is not that good, use it in the 2nd weapon slot for whatever char for the per rest abilities I guess?
  3. @MasterCipher I think he meant because he saves way before the container, which actually works, too you don't need to do it right before. @B4nJ0 I'm talking about the file name of your random loot list, is it called LootDays.xslsx? Because that is the latest version.
  4. Are you using the LootDays file which has White March areas in it? For me that one works fine strangely enough.
  5. If you have high Survival the bonuses of the camping supplies are far better than the inns, but ofc that only applies to higher leveled chars. @Slack83er I'm not trying to say you're doing anything wrong, I'm trying to say your playstyle is right and don't worry too much about being optimized, just enjoy the game. Before I ever visited this forum I had my 1st pt done and my solo cipher was already almost thru the game but then I needed help with Sky Dragon on my cipher and many people here gave me super useful advice. The build section is more for replaying the game and not necessarily for first pts.,
  6. You don't need to. Stats aren't verything in this game and as long as you know to get as many points as possible in the stats that greatly help your character (for most it's MIG and PER) you're doing fine. In this game you get great bonuses to stats and if you want to travel around a bit for those you can run around with +4 to MIG and CON all game by using one of the inns that give +2 to those and the dwarven whore in the Salty Mast.
  7. That OR characters like barbarians, paladins, fighters who only need more CON in very specific situations, but even they can't play 3 CON in every encounter. If you don't want to go around respeccing all day 3 CON is even worse.
  8. Well you kinda got a point there but that is because always going with 3 Con is NOT optimized. There is situations where you just need more. :D
  9. I never understood how an optimized character would work less well on easier difficulties, but since many people seem to think so, there must be something to it.
  10. Just got to level 10 and can confirm this also works with seven nights. To reduce the cheese I only cast 4 times, for 200 damage without crit.
  11. You will need summons later for sure - it would be a serious mistake not to invoke the animated weapons. Well, the way I used to play chanter was stacking Dragon slashed, which doesn't work if you interrupt it by casting invocations. Tbf you can't really stack at level 9 and with this exploit I might as well chaincast seven Nights. :D
  12. I just tested this and it seems to work with White Worms, too. edit: tested it again and it also works with Thrice she was wronged etc, so I assume it works with any invocation.
  13. I started my own ultimate run with a chanter and the class is just absurdly good. I'm not even level 9 yet (just got to 8 in chapter 2) and this already feels much stronger than a paladin. Ancient Memory has no limited duration so you can rely on the heal for however long a fight takes contrary to Veteran's recovery that only works for a limited amount of time. All I need for healing is Vital Essence potions since chanter hp are pretty low and I picked Moon godlike for +1 IN. The defensive stats of the chanter are not much worse than pala and White worms is insanely fun.
  14. Lol, ofc this get's posted when my ultimate chanter is almost at level 9 and doesn't need summons anymore.
  15. It's important to note that the random loot only works when you save and reload before your very first random container, this wasn't always like this but got changed in one of the last patches.
  16. This sounds like quick switch excludes GF. I always had both talents, start out with twin sting build 80 focus, quick switch to dual bittercut for 0 recovery cast mindweb, go ham in melee. :D
  17. I avoided taking Greater Focus in my Trio party until after I got mindweb. Then I realized you will always get into a situation where you don't build enough focus to start web at combat start. Twin Sting is the best choice because of 2 chances at a hit if the first one fails. Needless to say GF is better taken earlier than level 15 and I gimped myself needlessly. :D
  18. 1. Dark Souls 1 2. Fallout NV 3. Baldur's Gate 2
  19. The 3 eyeless before Abydon's can be cheesed quite well. If you run to a certain point on the map(and have good move speed) they will stop chasing you and each go to a separate place on the map but the fight will not end. YOu can now kill them seperately with summons, takes some time tho
  20. Chanter is by far the best class to solo. The difference in defenses to paladin is not that high, because of the level 1 chants with bonus to all defenses except deflection +10. Ofc until you get Little Savior you will also lack +5 from the Outworn buckler, but then again dragon chant with level 9 is a lot earlier than SA with 13. Also phantom summon is until level 9 much better than anything paladin has offensively and obviously Soft winds is not that bad either.
  21. @Livegood I don't wanna sound like a ****, but your post on page 1 (sorry still can't quote no idea why) about parties of 2/3 compared to a party of 6 is a little weird to me. Enemy groups do not increase in size if you have a party of more characters. You level slighttly slower but the bounties alone more than make up for that. Any party of 6 without a priest stomps the game that hard, that can't tell any more if you're "better" than with a priest. I made a thread about this a while ago: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/89907-what-would-be-your-personal-faceroll-party/?p=1853717 Where I specifically said a priest would be the strongest in my personal party but I'd rather play without one. Now from my personal experience with my party of 3 I made the party of 6 in a way that I would retain my playstyle and just have 3 extra chars supporting this very playstyle. And even tho I have duplicate chars it's totally doable without. Once again don't wanna sound like an elitist know it all, no offence intended
  22. For a weird reason this forum is broken for me since some days so among other things I can't quote and To reply I have to use the "more replies" option. @Jerek Yea and before that I had another trio with fighter instead of chanter which was super weak compared (no mindweb back then) and still did fine. In my very first blind pt I had Durance, only played on hard, but I got annoyed by it and stopped it after Dyrford and soloed first with a cipher and then 2 different paladins. But apart from soloing the player characters in this game are so broken compared to enemies that you can use any combination of chars you can also skip not only priest but chanter on top of that, ofc solo rogue would be a bit hard vs dragons (but totally doable) but as soon as you have any 2 chars or more it's not just about winning anymore but doing so with the greatest of ease. 2 rogues for example shouldn't have any trouble and if you combine 2 chanters it's probably the most broken duo out there. (Imagine combining their dragon chants and shield chants in a way shield never runs out and you always have +30 dr + super high defenses and dragon chant) Ofc a priest is also great at soloing or support in a very small party (2-3 chars), nobody really denies how good priests are.
  23. I don't see why so many people think a priest is absolutely necessary. Like rheingold I never had a priest in my party and always did fine. A chanter is much more powerful than a priest even tho he doesn't have the same type of buffs (that would be boring, no?) but shines in the damage department. Dragon chant is the highest dps ability in the game, once you doublestack it (and guess what you can even triplestack it ) and on level 9 when you get it no one comes even close to the chanter in damage output. You still have all those utility chants and they don't need to something similar to other classes the chanter is a unique class after all.
  24. I wouldn't master Vital Essence, since it's a very easy to create potion, rather master something that's offensive, like Alacrity, since you can use that every fight, while you need Vit Essence only when hp is low.
