  1. I have a graphical bug at the top right corner of the screen that looks like a piece of a scroll at 21.9 resolution (see red marked spot in the Image). The graphic bug disappears at 2560x1440.
  2. Does anyone know by how much Abraham the dog pet reduces the armour penalty recovery time? The tool tip does say nothing about the percentage.
  3. Yes, I as well only play solo potd ironman, but with my hands tied behind my back and just randomly pressing a button on my keyboard with my nose - everything else would be far too easy, you know! And by the way, your remarks make perfect advice for a new player, as was requested... i had to laugh for 3 straight minutes
  4. Alright thank you for the tips! Cipher was pretty golden for the Llengrath fight my monks with blades and cipher with desintegrate obliterated the dragons (PotD scaled stats). In my opinion the alpine dragon, adra dragon and the Roedwith headhunter quest were a lot harder. I probably gonna reload and pick the peaceful solution for the stat bonus anyways as the spells from llengrath are pretty much useless to me.
  5. Does it mean that blunderbuss isnt good anymore for ciphers? And if i had to decide if cipher or ranger can it be said that one of them is better against bosses like dragons or big mob groups?
  6. I'm curious what kind of parties out there are working out good in PotD for you guys. My Current Party is: Monk (Main) Light armour high attack speed focuses on dealing damage to casters but also heavy armored due to high accuracy Eder (Tank) Zahuha (Second damage dealer) Durance (Buff & Heal) Aloth (Crowd Control and Damage) Hiravias (good CC with storms otherwise feels a little weak) I have tried Maneha for quite some time but she didnt deal enough damage compared to Zahuha. P.S. i did not respecc any of my story characters that im using. My intention was to replace Hivarias for either a Ranger or a Cipher but im not sure if Cipher is good. The last time i had Grieving Mother in my PoTD party (2.0 patch), all she did was grazing hits or not hitting (missing) all the time because her accuracy was kind of low with 8X ish. I only used her for amplified wave (the aoe spell) the other spells either missed or had a very short duration if they hitted. So is Cipher still like this? And how is ranger currently? Would it make sense to replace him for my druid or is druid superior for his crowd control abilities? Also what kind of Spells for Wizard/Druid/Cipher/Priest you consider good for PotD? - against single target like dragons and against big groups
  7. ^this i bought the written guide and was tremendeously disappointed as i m used to high quality guides in written form (example baldursgate 2 book) as mentioned: - no item location summary - lots of missing information - partly outdated if you look at some stats (espcially shields) - (edit) oh yeah i totally forgot about the error of sidequest resolutions and quest rewards i found a guide online for free while i have played PoE which i liked more because the navigation is a lot better and its not overpacked with useless information : http://guides.gamepressure.com/pillarsofeternity/
  8. really no need for this hussle on potd some willbreaker curses like the level 3 skill of griving mother and alots curse on lvl 5 are enough for the gaze of the adragan (from alot) to hit like 70% of the time from there on its instant win even with the adds btw i did it with a almost pure physical damage approach on normal with some true damage spells of druid and cypher
  9. as your "fisticuff" monk is almost 100% the same as my main monk in my second playthrough on PoTD i think the stats distribution is mathematically close to the optimum aswell as skills chosen.
  10. ohw ohw ohw a priest who isnt moon godlike GG your done restart game.... no jokes asside path of the damned is pretty easy (in a team of 6 people) i think even if you would take 6 monks you could do it there is not really much you can do wrong as everything that comes after defiancebay is super easy mode even on path of the damned.
  11. as im on my second playthrough where im not roleplaying anymore im min/maxing does it mean you have to choose the cruel dialogue options as much as possible to take the gits from the machine and to sacrificer a companion? - is it possible to sacrifice more than one companion? And as i read at the end by choosing a god it is possible to gain one stats of desire is that correct?
  12. wow i didnt know there is permanent stat buffs other than the blood ritual, does anybody know if there is more perm stat bonuses other than heritage hill? i dont wanna miss them
  13. good thing this game is not balanced for soloing purpose there is a achievement yes, but the game is meant to be played with a team. i hope they remove this solo crap from the game in the expansion or atleast make it impossible to solo. in recent times there is to many cries for nurfs from solo players while in a properly build team everything is alright even on PoTD.
  14. i wasnt spoiled at all i just liked to join the knights regardless of the other factions or future rewards which i had no clue about if that was your post about (not sure). Anyways its not that big of a deal an easy bracket block would have solved this issue as i mentioned before. For those who dont like those tool tips there is expert mode i dont see a problem at all. Aditionally i dont see it that dramatically to write an essay back so enjoy.
  15. its because some think they "have" to play solo ond PotD thus raging hard when they are petrified.
  16. Are we so adverse to thinking for ourselves, that we need to be spoon fed and outlined the consequences of choices? What happened with just rolling with it, your character made a blunder... why does that ruin your game experience? :shrugs: Of course I understand that you guys are angry with the fact that you feel cheated by the game (which is a ****ty feeling), I just don't see why you feel that way. there is an expert tag that doesnt spoon fed those that dont wish to in my next playthrough i will know. However on my first game I planned from the beginning to join the knights, i dont know how you cant see why so many people feel upset about it. (especially on first playthrough)
  17. i had the same problem with the knights i wanted to join them but it was to late as i was one member of the dozen already this could easily be solved by a bracket behind the dialogue which displays your alliance once choose and accept the quest
  18. i found that fire beetle (i think lvl 5) is the most damaging spell in the game given the time/damage ratio then there are 2 true damage spells one is a flower on lvl 6 and the other is an insect swarm at lvl 4 or 5 im sorry that i cant remember the details anymore. Those are extremely good against highly resistant enemies. And of course there is the lightning storm which damages and stuns enemies.
  19. But what i got from the conversation earlier is that those petrify encoutners are pretty rare in a bonus dungeon which is purely optional (Caed Nua or how that thing is called). That being said i appreciate if the game has atleast one optional area where its nearly impossible to do solo. Its also something I would expect from an expansion: higher difficulty(not just inflated numbers) which means getting rid of solo mode as a achievement so that the game is not communicating that its possible or shall be done that way.
  20. its respectable that you try soloing the adra dragon im curious what class? As im pretty sure the dragon is simply impossible solo although i could be wrong. After all its a bonus enemy that shall be hard for a group (porbably impossible solo), managing to beat the adra dragon without petrify in solo mode would make such a optional enemy labeled as strongest encounter just too easy.
  21. in PoTD there are plenty of fights where you come up against enemies that use petrify and i already limit myself to not using the super OP moonlike the game should be balanced, i shouldnt have to balance myself can you hint me where? i probably never noticed petrification during the fight but i could imagine its more noticeable in a solo run than playing with a group. However as someone mentioned already there was a lot of safe or die spells for instance in D&D (finger of death insta dragon kill anyone?) i beat the adra dragon myself in the first playthrough with aloths gaze of the adragan but it didnt felt right (for myself) so i decided to pump in a lot of tries and finally beat the dragon with a physical damage aproach with some druid spells to support. I remember starting my first topic after the adra dragon how ****ty wizard is except for those cheesy spells which were mentioned: sliken, confusion, sleep and gaze without those i'd say there is no need for a wizard in my party. And before the fan of flame argument comes its a decent lvl 1 spell but in terms of raw damage hands down druid wins.
  22. I would say dont use it if you find it too cheesy as for enemies i didnt came across enemies that used it except for traps maybe i didnt notice. its like in baldursgate 2 where Timestop outclassed every other spell by miles. And beyond gaze of the adragan there is still confusion which in this game still works a bit too well on PotD to consider it not beeing cheesy aswell.
  23. interesting but so far i have seen a PotD iron mode walktrough or lets say thaos kill by every class except ranger which doesnt make the monk OP. Infact it would be much more interesting to see some of the more challening fights like the higher bounty quests in solo mode done by monk VS. lets say fighter so far thaos iron man PotD is or was in every youtube video: get the beetles kite thaos away solo statues and thaos with a trap (or without) which isnt outstanding at all. My question is not if its doable with a monk or fighter but rather who have the easier time in PotD solo?
