Does it seem interesting to anyone else that the song Midnight Vultures by Beck is not in fact on his album that carries the same name? Funnily enough, I was just listening to that album, on the last track: Debra. Hilarity. "Cause only you got a thing that I just got to get with. I got to get with you and your sister; I think her name is Debra!"

I don't really have anything important to add, but I just noticed the word dyslexia and it's spelling. Now, we have a different word where I come from, so I hadn't noticed before, but isn't the word 'dyslexia' an evil prank? Not a dyslexic person can spell it. Same for stuttering. Try to get someone who stutters to say stutter.

This has probably been mentioned, but I think "Power To The People" by John Lennon is essential to this list.

Are you kidding? Cthulhu is already an internet culture phenomenom. All it needs is a slight nudge.

Fair enough, but shorts are not conclusive evidence; often these are fitted and cut to appeal to a certain demographic while the film may offer more.

It's not out, yet, in the US. And that's the important thing. It's not that funny. That's the important thing. Explain this. "I didn't see it. It's not that funny." How does that work?

Here's one I made recently, as I'm starting to discover the wonderful world of photoshop (starting last week).

You see, I thought Tubgirl and Goatse were pretty much the crop of the crap.

Upcoming Movie Discussion
Transformers: It's a Michael Bay movie, so I'm going to sit this one out and wait for it to arrive in rentable DVD form. I'm probably seeing the Tritrilogy (I use this to refer to the three third big franchise movies; Spider-man 3, Pirates 3 and Shrek 3). Spider-man is probably my favourite Superhero after Deadpool, and I dug the first two. Plus, the previews look hella awesome, so I'm way there. I loved both Pirates movies; they're perfect popcorn entertainment for me, so count me in for the third. As for Shrek 3, Shrek movies have always been great date movies; they offer something for pretty much everyone. Plus, I end up seeing most animated flicks anyway since I'm an animation student. Looking at Computer Animated flicks, Shrek is still one of the better ones in there. I'm sick of seeing animals forced into/out of the city and into/ out of the wild. I'm also thinking about seeing Hot Fuzz in a different city because it's not playing here, but that's always such a pain, so I might wait for the DVD release. I did dig Shaun of the Dead though, so I bet this is gonna be pretty good too.

Really? There are communities for that kind of stuff? The internet is more screwed up than I though.

I don't think this is a case of just 'snapping' one day. These incidents seem to just build and build over time. The columbine incident was planned and built up over a long time. They even put explosives in cars so that people evacuating would blow up, but thankfully the bombs didn't go off. They basically were trying to set a body count record. While I've read some of what one of the Columbine kids wrote, and he was obviously psychotic, I think it is also scary that he found a like minded friend willing to go that far. Back in the 50s or 60s there was a husband and wife who both believed drinking blood would prolong their lives. I just can't fathom how these two hooked up. Was it just one of them who was a nutcase who slowly 'converted' the other to a nutcase or did they meet at the local blood drinking club? "Come on honey! It tastes great!" "Well, if you say so... hmm it does taste good! Lets go kidnap teenagers and suck their blood!" "That's my girl!" There were a couple of guys in germany a while ago. One of them wanted obsessively to eat someone, the other wanted obsessively to be eaten. How the heck do people like this get together? It doesn't make any sense.

Points of interest: A former teacher of the gunman expresses that if there was a way for teachers to get their students to counseling this whole tragedy might have been averted. Any thoughts? The international debate this has spawned has been about the right to bear arms. Generally the concencus here is that the right to bear arms will always lead to a vicious circle of violence. Any thoughts? Jack Thompson predicts the shooter will have Counterstrike installed on his computer. Any thoughts? Personally, I predict this is probably the outcome of a terrible upbringing and not enough attention payed to mental problems. I think there should be more government-based help for parents trying to raise their kids. Any thoughts? I am non-religious so I will not say something akin to "my prayers go out to blah" like so many of my non-religious friends have been hypocritically doing, but I will say that the ones who live on will find the closure they need to carry on their lives.

I saw that album in a record store once. I considered buying it for a moment, because of the irony in the title. Then I realized, I hate Shatner's voice and I don't really like Ben Folds either. Incubus - Vitamin Ah, a good, funk rockin' Incubus. I miss the old Incubus. Morning View managed to grow on me, but their last two albums just didn't sit with me at all. Eels - Jehovah's Witness A less serious, more rockin' Eels. I dig it; it's a favourite of mine when I need easy listening. "Jehovah's Witness, leave me alone. Jehovah's witness, I'm not at home. Keep on a'knockin, and ringin' the bell. Knockin' your way, straight to hell."

Yayz!!!!!!
Actually, outside the Cannibal Island thing (of which I'm not sure why it was in the movie at all), the second movie was pretty coherent. Jack finds out what's happening, Jack finds a way to stop it, Jack fails and dies. There is not much else that happens in this movie. I have to say that the kid from The Mummy 2 was pretty much the first time I saw one that DIDN'T ruin the movie. He was annoying, but on purpose. And to the bad guys. Most things that are annoying and ruin the movie do this by accident. Honestly, I thought the way he kept taunting that henchmen was great.

Well, it had silly characters, monsters, and a plot you don't need to use your brain for. Pretty much perfect for relaxing and still being entertained.

It's funny. I've never actually heard someone say anything than praise for the second movie, yet I see it typed all the time. It's like people are scared to say they didn't like the second one except on the internet... for whatever reason that would be. Personally, I loved the second one, and I can't wait for the third. I dig popcorn movies.

Yeah, it seems to me that Good News was their first attempt at making this new album, except it just didn't work out just as well, with all the experimental tracks. Deftones - Change (House Of Flies)

Man, this was the first forum I've been too that avoided vet nostalgia, and I wanted to keep it that way. It always leads to arrogance and shutting-out of newbies.
