  1. I've been there on multiple occassions. It's nothing special.
  2. Sick again. Ever since I moved last May, I've been getting sick more and more often. I wonder if that's connected, and if so, how.
  3. But can anything beat Joss Whedon's approach of "Cowboys and Hookers.. In Space!"? There's a story that after Die Hard came out, every action movie was pitched as being "Die Hard in a....................". A lot of these actually got made, such as Die Hard on a plane (Air Force One) or Die Hard on a Bus (Speed). Now, nobody pitches it that way anymore. This is because some dumbass pitched something as being "Die Hard in an office building".
  4. Eastpak Laptop Backback. Tried looking for the exact one but I couldn't find it anymore. Looks like a Provider or an Egghead type.
  5. So, I'm a student who uses his laptop at school. I also happen to live a two hour commute away from that school and have to make this daily trip twice in busses and trains, so there's lots of picking up, putting down, road turbulence, on again off again, etc. My old laptop is showing the scars of this battle damage, broken hinges, torn plastic, etc. and is due to replacement because it is literally falling apart and held together with duct tape. And it's only about 5 years old. I don't want whatever replacement I'm going to get to suffer as badly and as fast. So does anyone have any advice about preserving the condition of a laptop in these kinds of conditions?
  6. Real men do whatever they want and don't listen to what people on the internet say real men do. Wait.
  7. I can't stop watching this thing. I think I'm dying. Losing weight, anyway.
  8. I hope not. "well, that's a nice story" should be a goal for sure, but what I really want is for the emphasis to go on whether or not something is fun to play.
  9. Because the US is the most influential country in the world and whatever the US does is quite likely to affect others.
  10. The former doesn't play into the "hope" aspect and the latter is too much effort and hard work as opposed to the escapism from effort and hard work that a lottery works for. I get what you're saying, I too think playing the lottery is a waste of money because the likelyhood of returns is just very, very small, but it does offer something besides that.
  11. It's because the numbers get so big that people can't put into perspective and because we're raised on movies and books and human interest stories where the one in a million chances crop up ninety nine percent of the time.
  12. 50 words the NYC department of education is trying to get banned from standardized tests. I find it hilarious, anyway. Other people might not, but I enjoy how some Americans attempt to keep their children backwards to prevent them from learning more forward thinking notions like...? What, it says "home computers" and "unemployment"? Wait, what?
  13. Spent all day filming reference material for animation. It happens to have combat in it. We don't happen to have any mats, and we had to shoot about a dozen takes for each of these things, wherein I was the actor: - Being thrown into a wall. - Simply being thrown around. - Being knocked down on my back. - Being knocked down onto my face. - Being thrown against a table. - Being knocked off a chair I'm standing on. - Knocking someone else off me. - Repeatedly slowly getting up from being knocked down. Everything is sore. Plus, I have carpet burn on my hands and elbows and even my face. Despite that, I had so much fun. Plus, I got to knock a few other people down.
  14. Mr. Black and Mr. Grey. Maybe I should have given mine easier names, I somehow envy you because I decided it would be funny to give them ridiculous names. My three cats are Dr. Droolbabble, Engelbert Humperdinck and Binkelinus the Third of Liechtenstein. My girlfriend, however, refuses to call them that and has renamed them Murphy, Rachel and Binky. Wait, or were those the real names and did mine come later? I forget.
  15. Yeah, that's what I thought. Wasn't there some documentary recently that did the Supersize Me thing, except with just meat and the guy got much healthier? Fathead or something. I vaguely remember it.
  16. But people working during the day in the sun run risk of skin cancer! AAAAH!
  17. Excercises, using work breaks to take walks and stretch, at home occasionally opt to use the laptop and sit on the sofa instead (toasted leg syndrome be damned).
  18. As someone who lived on the internet almost exclusively during his teenage years I can state with experience that any member who requests to be made a moderator without there being a notification of an open position is without a doubt the worst person for the job.
  19. I was going to say that with the people currently poised to run America, I'm glad I don't live there. Then I remembered my country has in a short span gone from a frontrunner in human rights to a frontrunner in racism and discrimination, so I really have no right to speak. What the **** is up with the world?
