  1. Animation tend to be very late on the to-do list because it requires finished assets to animate. It'll be fine.
  2. I don't even consider McConaughey in the running - pre noms all the buzz was "It's going to be Hanks or DiCaprio" and since Hanks wasn't nominated DiCaprio seems like an obvious choice.
  3. "Yeah, um... perhaps we should... split up?" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  4. If I were a betting man, I'd bet on DiCaprio. Looks like he's riding the wave of good-will straight to the little golden statue. It'll be like Meryl Streep or Martin Scorcese's oscars - not for their best work, but they'll get it as sort of a lifetime achievement thing because they should have gotten a bunch years ago.
  5. Oscar noms are in, and the only one I really care about this time around is special effects - I find it hard to choose, on a whole, Gravity had great special effects all the way through and they really deserve recognition, while The Hobbit was generally pretty unconvincing... but the Hobbit had Smaug, who was utterly amazing and is my favourite special effect ever at this point and the work on him alone is worth all the awards ever.
  6. Lisa Hannigan is an angel. Look up her contribution to Way To Blue: The Music of Nick Drake music show, she's bloody amazing.
  7. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
  8. I've resigned to the idea that Sherlock realized Watson would do it and did it so Watson was in the clear.
  9. Hrm, I don't usually dig stuff that I hear on the radio but that Lorde girl is quite good.
  10. What's an interesting build to go through Baldur's Gate EE with? I'm thinking Ranger/Cleric Multiclass, I've never done that build before and I heard you get access to Druid Spells because of a bug.
  11. Sometimes you can't fight it. My grandmother was diagnosed with leukemia and was gone less than a week after. My best friend's mom died when he was 18, and his family has been struggling since despite their good, universal insurance because one of the providing members of the family fell away. Very hard not to make a joke about "you could always cook meth".
  12. Double thumbs up from me, love the portrayal of that character.
  13. Watching Sherlock right now and my mind is being blown.
  14. Brocolli and cauliflower mix with cheese sauce, roasted jacket potato and ground beef wrapped in bacon out of the oven.
  15. Wait, initech is a real company? I thought that was from Office Space!
  16. I wanted to love this game. I really did. It ticks all the boxes of things that I love... but my GOD is this game impossible. It ended up being my most hated game ever. Something is only tense if you don't have to repeat it 50 times - then it becomes a rage-inducing chore. Seriously, ten minute long first person platforming chase sequences where every action you do has about a two second margin for error and if you mess up once you start over? Who the hell approved of that? Hehe, yeah. There is a hook: The game / player character runs faster / slower depending on your hardware. On certain computers, the chasing scene is like totally impossible. The faster the game runs, the easier it gets for you. I only managed it back in the days, because I reduced my screen resolution and all that. The whole world makes sense now. :S

  18. It's true about weapons. The second Penumbra game was far more terrifying than the first because I wasn't preoccupied with trying to hammer the enemies to death. Just having a weapon puts a player into a mindset that says "I have this weapon, I should fight the enemies", take away the weapon and the thought barely crosses the player's mind.
  19. Wow, what a high quality mod for Amnesia.
  20. Definitely the highlight of Korra so far, I think. On a side note, I love how the thread title seems desperate to rationalize liking cartoons. Cartoons are awesome.
  21. Legend of Korra isn't as good as The Last Airbender but not for lack of trying. The storylines are ambitious but the resolutions thus far have been lacking.
  22. Same as Jarmo. I generally leave the exotic choices out of it on my first playthrough and discover the world through a mundane surrogate. I voted human fighter, but it might be human rogue.
  23. Avatar has so outgrown being a kids' cartoon it's not funny. I bet the first season finale gave many a child nightmares, between Koizilla and Koh the Facestealer.
  24. Also praiseworthy for a great performance by Joel Murray.
