I liked that so I could unlike it again to show how much I do not like it. I can't recall the last time I read something so utterly ridiculous on the internet.

Can anyone tell me why my ass should be burned, apparently? Neither Russia nor the olympics have really registered on my radar for the last ten years. They're irrelevant to me.

It's cool, it's just that people here can get a bit... heated. Especially Oerwinde, who seems to run on comics and cartoons, and gets upset when his fix isn't pure. :D

No way, Fight Club is one of those movies you have to watch at least twice - the entire thing takes on a different meaning once you know the truth.

Might I recommend freehand? I always feel more creative when writing with a pen on paper. Plus it has the added benefit of not being able to correct mistakes until you transcribe it into the word-processor so (after some early annoyance) you will start to ignore mistakes and just get on with the fun bit, which is writing the story.

True, but one of the reasons the portrayal of women stands out is compared to the portrayal of men. I saw it said here that Bioware presents its women as incompetent slaves, but that's incorrect. Bioware presents its people as incompetent slaves - its a bad portrayal of everyone.

Okay I respect your opinion but we will have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't think Bioware objectifies the various female characters in a way that is offensive. At least, not in a way that men aren't as well. Everyone in Bioware games is useless and needs the protag to give their life meaning. I don't see how Bastila is different from Anomen.

And neither my wife or I had any trouble keeping track of them. Seriously LC I don't get it. Luz, Buck, Malarkey, Heffron, Popeye, Roe, Bull, Blythe, Winters etc. ... are as distinctive a group of guys as you could create. Apparently not since it is made abundantly clear that Guarnere does find the letter accidentally - he picked up Martin's jacket by mistake during a movie before the jump. Martin and Lipton discuss whether to tell Bill about Henry's death before the jump and Martin ultimately decides against it. Bill even apologizes to Martin for grabbing his jacket by mistake. Multiple awards for Best Television mini-series including an emmy and golden globe would indicate otherwise. Let's just agree to disagree. Man, kgambit, I don't know if you're intending that but you sound condescending in your last few posts here. "Well the facts are that your opinion is wrong! Psh, what you found unclear was abundantly clear! What you found indistinct was totally distinct! Fact!" I find having to impress the great old ones much more imposing than a few meatbags.

I remember in Fahrenheit when somewhere in the start of the game, you had to pick up a guitar and do a QTE mini-game to wait for the next story bit - that's when I realized it was a bad movie with bits of procrastination in it masquerading as gameplay. At least The Walking Dead's QTE's were happening inside the story instead of outside of it.

I thought The Walking Dead's story was far superior to the dreck that Fahrenheit was. Pretentious nonsense.

To be fair, I find the shameless ripping off of Miyazaki's work much more grating than the "turning person into a bear to make them realize the value of family" plot and theme conceit ripoff.

The humor is a bit too referential at times and it's a bit loosely plotted (by virtue of being a serialized blog in print) but this is the only book that made me go from uncontrollable laughter to pure existential horror in the space of two pages, so I consider it time well spent.

It seems the writers aren't all that good at endings. Season 2 ends disappointingly as well, though not as much as season 1. Personally I feel the series never exceeded the high that was the season one finale of the original series.

That does sound fun, I enjoy visual hallucinations. But I can arrange a little piece of paper for you that will give you the same effect without the lack of sleep I can do it with a pingpong ball, some tape, a recording of static and some good headphones. No joke.

I can't see what you mean. I was disappointed by it as well, but even the finale dealt with some pretty dark subject matter including genocide and the death penalty. I mean, it dealt with it badly, but it didn't shy away from adult subjects. I'm talking about the first series now. Korra, on a whole, has been pretty bad. Trying too hard, I feel.

Might just be America - I see a gun, I call the cops because that sort of thing implies a certain gun-toting moronity in more civilized places. Last time I heard of someone just walking around with a gun here he shot a bunch of people in a mall.

Toy Story 3, yes. Monsters University, not so much (it was hampered by the fact all character growth was rendered meaningless by the developments of the original). Cars 2 was subpar, and Brave was extremely subpar - an awful ripoff of Miyazaki movies crossed with Brother Bear. Beyond that, I'm not as positive about Wall-E and Up as some other people - pretty good adventure movies, but they were only elevated to great movies because they had fantastic opening sequences - I personally feel both films worked better as shorts (Wall-E alone, and the tragic lovestory beginning Up). Neither of them were on the level of Ratatouille or Finding Nemo when it comes to pure storytelling.

Just came back from seeing Frozen, fantastic film. With Tangled and Wreck-it-Ralph being just as great and the last few Pixar flicks being subpar, Disney has really clambered it's way back up to being the animation king. Hoping Pixar will start doing their thing again soon, though.
