  1. Spring cleaning! In August. Possibly not a great idea to start overhauling everything today since I'm going to Gamescom tomorrow.
  2. Yep, that's what both video reviewers I watch (Chris Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns) said. They said both previous movies and the Corman one were better. One compared it to Batman & Robin, but said at least that movie provided things to laugh at while this one's just horrible.
  3. They should have kept scenarios, relevant high level dungeons, reputations with story content and good rewards and more interesting end-game zones. Like Timeless Isle.
  4. It's always been "kind of" the case but in WoD there is literally nothing else and I'm pretty sure that's a big reason why it dropped from like 10 million at its peak to 5.6 million just now after a huge patch launch and the WoW token being introduced. I mean, if you look at the numbers even at WoW's peak during Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard said only about 3% of the players even did the hardmode raids. The vast majority of WoW players never stepped foot into a raid before LFR, and even now there's still a massive segment of non-raiders.
  5. Now that the announcement stream with the devs describing it and all the features is done, I still feel like there's not going to be anything to do other than raiding.
  6. Well, the reason it makes me sad isn't that I dislike restrictions but because the Horde is already 50% Blood Elves.
  7. Demon Hunter class, but looks like that's limited to Night and Blood Elves. That makes me a little sad.
  8. There's pushback. Not sure it's definitive. The only thing stupider than that rant about how men have all the power is the way it was responded to.
  9. Pretty sure they're vector drawings, yes. Drawings and animations that can be scaled because they were drawn in vector programs like Flash or Illustrator. Orogun might be right too, vector drawings are still used but they're kind of out of vogue. They've got that old school Flash feeling to me, though. I think the term you might be looking for is "sprite"? All pixel art in games are sprites, but not all sprites are pixel art. A sprite is just a pre-created character made out of 2D images. An interesting example, look at the original Dungeon Keeper game: The characters are 3D models, but you're not seeing 3D models in the game. You're seeing pre-rendered 2D images of 3D models, so they're sprites. Technically the same as the characters moving around in that video.
  10. Yes for all except the demons. Those ****s are real.
  11. I'm still waiting for Hades to log in and make one last post about how much the afterlife sucks.
  12. Wow. That sure puts things in perspective. I have issues but my dad never tried to kill me. Also, it's pretty cool that he got the help he needed and recovered. Mental illness is no fun.
  13. Nope. In fact, my elementary school was situated right beside a trailer park. I wasn't exactly a natural fit in my neighbourhood.
  14. Every family has their black sheep. Actually, my immediate family (mother, father, brother, me) are by far the most normal in my extended family. On my mother's side, we currently have six generations because they breed like rabbits. Rabbits who live in trailer parks. On my father's side, I have sixteen aunts and uncles because the previous generation bred like rabbits. Two years ago, it was fifteen but then we found another one - my dad's brothers and sisters grew up in the system because they were taken away from their parents. We're kind of the lone white sheep in a horde of black sheep and the occassional goat.
  15. Useful advice. Sure. But from your description it sounds like they cant really be arsed to raise the children properly. Maybe they don't want the children "taken away" by the state but they would be okay with family taking the children in? I have never met a psychotic parent who did not consider themselves to be an expert parent.
  16. Oh my god Blind Al is in it!
  17. The reason why WoD has been such a disappointment is that it's all geared towards end game raiding so if that's not your thing, you might be better off passing on this one. I'm hoping the next expansion will have more to offer since I am running out of things to do - Pandaria had much more to offer, to the point I did some of their reputation grinds despite them not being relevant because progressing also gave you neat story quests. Example: During the rep grind for Operation Shieldwall I went to war with the Horde, found a magical artifact, released and hung out with the legendary Monkey King (yes, they did go extremely stereotypically asian with its themes), saved the Prince of Stormwind and personally stopped Garrosh when he tried to unleash a weapon of destruction, doing all that story content without stepping foot into a single raid. It was a handful of scenarios and a bunch of quests. Lots of content for non-raiders. And at the end I got a completely revamped gryphon mount to finally replace that ancient TBC flying mount, so I had fun and I got rewarded. To compare, Warlords of Draenor has no scenarios at all and their reputation grinds are mostly "kill mobs and touch random quest objectives until your bar fills up" with no real story progression. Not really fun, and there's no reason to do them if you don't raid. EDIT: Don't get me wrong, said raiding content is really good but it is also the only thing good about the expansion. Well, the leveling experience was pretty good too but that doesn't last very long.
  18. Little awkward liking that post with some of the bad stuff in it but you do seem pretty well-adjusted to me considering what you've been through, so kudos on that. I do want to point out that people who don't have abusive parents can still have those issues. I've been dealing with chronic depression, chemical imbalance, high sensitivity, low self-esteem and extreme social anxiety for as far back as my memory stretches and my parents were supportive. And I've known people with abusive parents who turned out completely fine. Go figure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  19. That's a very sharp decline since the last expansion, I guess quite a few people were like me, give the game another go every now and again for nostalgia's sake but at some point you just give up the hope they'll actually improve upon the things you care about and move on. Judging by that graph I kinda expect the spike at the beginning of each expansion to be less and less over time. Judging by how steeply the subscriptions fell off after WoD release I'd say they ought to be happy if they still hit 8million when the next expansion is released. (I'm also kind of surprised there was no decline in subscriptions near the end of WotLK, that's when guilds on my realm started folding due to either being bored of killing the Lich King heroic, or being frustrated due to not being able to beat him on heroic...) It's not that sharp if you discount the spike caused by WoD. Seeing all the old Orc chieftains probably hit everybody who played a WarCraft product from WarCraft 1 to Burning Crusade in the nostalgia crotch. If you just average them out, it's a pretty regular product cycle playing out over a long time. I assume everyone who was done with the game and came back realized that, yeah, they were still done with the game. It's a really old game at this point. Still, I came back for WoD and I'm having fun with it, but that's partially because I had a bunch of Cataclysm and Pandaria content to go through that I hadn't done and because I'm in a guild with mature people who don't raid as a fulltime job. Also, big surprise, Pandaria content was amazing. I kinda wish I hadn't discounted it as "that Panda expansion", would have been fun to have been there when it was relevant. It was better than WoD anyway. Hoping the expansion announcement tomorrow is gonna be something cool.
  20. That sucks. My SO grew up in an environment like that and it's been a long road to get her back to a state even close to mental health. I hope those kids end up okay. I totally feel for you, and your emotions about wanting them to die but feeling bad about wanting them to die. I think that's a pretty normal thought in such a situation. I once told my girlfriend's father, an alchoholic manic depressive with a history of abusing his family but also suicide attempts, that he should man up already and do it right this time because it would be better for everyone. I still stand by that being true, but it still feels awful that I said such a thing to another human being, even one that I consider despicable.
  21. Discussion pruned. Can nobody read? The forum guidelines don't allow circumventing the language filter. The opening post clearly states in GIANT LETTERS that circumventing the language filter will get your posts deleted. If you want to argue with what words are censored, take it up with Fionavar. Until it changes, the rules are the rules and you have to follow them. This bull got the thread closed last time, if you want that to happen again keep going.
  22. No child services or police intervention possible?
  23. Thanks man, you too. It's not easy to deal with problems in your family.
  24. Anxiety attacks suck. That will be all.
  25. Judging by your response I believe you may have meant to communicate this: "That would mean she is only ten years younger than and twice as badass as Steve."
