I admit that I wasn't familiar with Levon Helm before this video, but... Well, hot damn. Call me a sentimental and/or pretentious sucker, but that was magical. Genuinely touching, especially when you consider the spontaneity of the performance. If you'll excuse a banal thought: this, to me, is a glimpse into what lies in the heart of music as a whole. This is that pure, expressive kernel of beauty and humanity that will outlive us all and move people for as long as someone can remember the song. Thank you for introducing me to this one.
