Not GOTY, but damnit the game looks amazing and lots of fun to play. A bit too much gore for me though.

As long as the third person animation is smooth and transitions well, the game is good. Third Person Shooters tend to be better animated for some reason.

Of course there's Team Ico's next project... which I'll remind you is a sort of sequel to Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. Besides, online play is free, they have most of the non-exclusive games like Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, FarCry 2, etc. Heck, there's even the Orange Box on it! Sony always seems to win in the long run.

I think I'd get a PS3 for this game alone. Suddenly a PS3 looks like it'd worth buying... Now if only the price dropped to the same as the 360's...

I really don't like the gameplay so far, and some animations look a bit iffy for my tastes.

Gears of War? Duh. What I mean is, will we actually use it? No one used the cover system in Mass Effect. What do you mean? You won't last 5 sec in ME without cover, unless may be it's on easy. I've passed the game on the hardest difficulty without ever using cover. Hell, even walkthroughs say "screw that, ignore the cover system, you'll live fine without it".

Oh wait, add FEAR 2 to the list. And Gears 2. And then Call of Duty 5.

Has anyone actually tried it yet? Frankly it looks like the kind of thing I'd play for a year just because I absolutly love making levels. Also, cutest game evar.

How important is the cover system? Gears of War or Mass Effect? GoW has you constantly running from cover to cover, yet in Mass Effec the cover system is pretty much useless and is ignored. Personnally I think the combat feels more visceral with heavy coer system use, but hey, GoW wasn't an RPG.

I think it'll be called a Mass Effect clone.
