  1. Yeah, and we have to make our own choices, not God. God is responsible for its actions and inactions, but all examples you've given are not God's. It loves us, helps us, and gives us guidance, but it doesn't control us. We have to be responsible for our own actions.
  2. Yeah, so you'll have just a bunch of drones walking around not knowing that they have no free will and are being manipulted by an outside force? Yeah, that's real loving. If God controlled our actions, there would be no point to our existance. Those 'actions' you refer to are not God's, they are ours. We as humans have to be responsible for our own actions, not God.
  3. Yes, he had given people free will, but also manipulated that will as well. If he was truly a loving and just God he wouldn't have let such strife within his own believers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you realize you've just contradicted yourself there? God would be manipulating free will if he didn't allow people to decide their own actions. God must be your neighbor or something, cause you seem to know a lot about his motives... "
  4. Fine I can give you others why I despise God, beyond just its Christian roots. God formed three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Each of these religions are strongly influenced on one another and all worship the same God, yet through his divine intervention God has set these three religions against each other, sowing pain, death, and despair. It purposely made it so that there can never be peace until one religion is dominant over another, almost like some sort of social experiment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. Islam doesn't worship the same God as Judaism and Christianity. It also teaches radically different doctrines as well. I have read the Qur'an, I have studied Islam and its history, I know what I'm talking about. Islam was started by Muhammad who saw Christianity and Judaism as corrupt. Islam in fact teaches that Judaism and Christianity are not true faiths. 2. God has never 'deliberately' set any religion against another. That, my friend, is human nature again. We have a free will, as Alanschu pointed out. You must be omniscient, because you seem to know a lot about what god is thinking... I suggest you actually study the faiths more closely, because you don't seem to understand what you are talkig about.
  5. You're words in your profile are "I also dislike religion with all of my heart, since I feel religions, like Christianity and Islam, represents the worst of humanity when abused in the extremes..." Yeah, so you are saying that you dislike religion. That, or you have to phrase your statements better. I'll say it again: if that's your reasoning, you must hate public schools, capitalism, and law enforcement agencies as well. yeah, that's the only example you seem to be able to give. That only shows you really don't know what you're talking about. Your concept of heaven, hell, and punishment in Christianity is skewed. Your ignorance speaks for itself here.
  6. ooh...there's another one. Hey, this is fun!
  7. Cry me a river, this is the usual rant from you. "Christianity is not to blame, people are to blame!" Well NEWSFLASH for you kiddo, people created Christianity, they run it, and those fundamentalists in the US represents a minority of Christianity and and so does their bigoted views. There are of course far more good Christians than bad, no doubt, but like it or not, many people are driven to the extreme in the name of their religion and its scriptures, and that is what I loathe about religion! Islam and your religion in particular. PS. Don't talk to me about ignorance, mr. I-don't-agree-with-homosexuality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> (invokes "l33t shield of Jesus phr34chs" power) You're doing it again! You're only proving my point even more. So you admit now that most Christians are good, but you still loathe the institution? Okay, I think I see what's going on here. I'll say it again: it is human nature, not religion. And I reiterate everything I said in my above post. Of course, being a Christian, I do believe my religion was divinely inspired, I admit. But even if it was started by people, you can't argue that it is not a religion that urges the best of humanity. I know, because I've actually read the book. And let's please leave the whole "human sexuality" thread out of this.
  8. You're probably right. It would have been better had it not been added in the first place. The pledge had enough unity in it without mixing in religion. But as I've said, the only reason I'm opposed to the current situation is because I don't agree with their methods or actions. There would be better ways to change the pledge aside from banning it altogether.
  9. And as I said, you have them, we don't. My point wasn't that they were the majority in the US, nor do I believe I ever said so. And as for my profile, however pleased I am that you have such a keen interest in me , I do believe it states that I loathe religion with all my heart when it is "abused in the extreme" or some such. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You said in your profile that you loathe religion because it represents the worst of humanity when abused. News flash: that has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with human nature. A policeman can abuse his authority to bully others. Do you loathe all law enforcement agencies now? A teacher can abuse his/her authority or position. I guess you hate all public schools now, huh? A business owner can abuse his/her postion in the company to bully or manipulate the workers. You surely must loathe capitalism now. See my point here? I've seen the ignorant statements you've made about religon in the past, and this is nothing new. I'm no fundamentalist, but I tend to defend my faith when people make ignorant statements about it.
  10. The "right wing religious folks" who "produce hatred" are far from the majority. In fact, they are in the minority. They seem to be more numerous then they are because they tend to be outspoken and are unfairly given all the media attention as if they speak for the rest of us. Then people look at them and think the entire religion must be to blame. Heck, just look at Lucius's profile. And for the record, there is nothing in Christianity that condones any of their behavior. As for the pledge, it's not that I actually support "under God" just being there in the first place, but that I don't agree with the methods these people are using (banning the pledge entirely because of two words). The actions they are taking I feel are not appropriate and would only serve to anger the majority more. And it's the same guy, to boot! It's not even a different person doing this. If the non-religious, atheist, Buddhist, deist, etc. people are offended by "under God" and want it removed, then it is their constitutional right and duty to speak out against it.
  11. Or maybe she was just evil. :D
  12. "Practice doesn't matter." And just for the record, I did do Judo for a few years back when I was younger. I eventually lost interest though, and got up to a blue belt before I finally quit.
  13. Yeah, that Carth/Revan pica were great. Just wait until DL sees it... Keep drawing! Me, I am a less-than-mediocre drawer and am just too plain lazy to do more than just write fanfics. So keep up the art, everyone! :D
  14. I'll go with GoA on this one. I think the male LS storyline in K2 is my favorite. As for K2, they could go with male or female exile for the canon as far as I'm concerned.
  15. I write fanfics. Which reminds me...I gotta get chapter 5 out soon. I also do sports, too. Mostly wrestling and outdoor track.
  16. Cute baby, Ender. Good luck with her.
  17. Sweet! And sorry to hear work has been a pain in the arse. What was wrong with that Visas pic, anyway? It wouldn't work for me.
  18. Ironic, because there's an entire thread here devoted to Jade Empire not being a financial failure. I for one have never heard the JE soundtrack, so I can't comment. But for the record, I do like K1's soundtrack better than K2. And the Halo 1+2's soundtrack is probably the only game soundtrack I'll listen to just for the sake of it. I would say GTA: Vice City's soundtrack, but those aren't original songs.

  20. You forgot major scandals as well. People just tend to be more interested in current events when things aren't going so fine and dandy. I'm shocked Metadigital hasn't commented on this thread. Come to think of it, he hasn't been around for a few days.
  21. Okay. Btw, if the Supreme Court denies students the right to speak 'under God' or 'religiously' during the pledge in schools, you can still pledge in private. But I agree the issue of the separation of church and state should be decided by the court. The build-in check on the court would be to pass a constitutional amendment which the congress and the states' legislatures can vote on. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but then again, we shouldn't have to pledge privately.
  22. I have an X-Box. Is there anyway to do it with that?
  23. Which reminds me - how do you switch to first-person view anyway? I haven't been able to figure out how. :">
  24. Urrr! Wrong!! Kreia yelled at you if you killed random people just for the sake of killing them. Why? Simply because they didn't benefit your PC in any way. That is no way to be a proper Sith Lord. Kreia, however, would have no problem if you killed someone for your own benefit.
  25. 1. Gabs is a grrl 2. There is also such thing as tyranny of the minority. Thanks to our system, it's possible for a small group of people to weild power over a large group, as we see here. Of course I don't think everything should be decided by vote alone. But for something like this, I think it should be up to the people to decide. And for the record Comissar, your examples don't hold up here, because people tend to want things that are beneficial to society. I highly doubt we'll see enough people voting for something like "church attendance fines" or a ban on contraceptives. Why? Because majority of the people won't see it happen. God loves you.
