A fire godlike barbarien should enchant weapons with additional fire damage and take the +20% fire damage talent. The talent works now and it does work for additional weapon damage. Does it? Do the boots with jolting touch (animancers boots?) still cause carnage? I saw a picture where a barbarien kills an entire room with one use of it. The retaliate ability of the cipher works only once per encounter, right? If I play a rogue it will be a ranged one. Most likely with the warbow that causes stunns. Leadspitter goes to my cipher.

I do not see a connection between Moses and Durance. Moses was successful. His god talks to him, he beats the pharao and he leads his people to the promised land. After the godhammer, all that Durance did was to kill, beat and insult people. Maybe Durance is more like the "volunteer beggar" (I hope you know who is meant) from Zarathustra. He gives away away all of his posessions and he tortures himself alone in the wilderness. He tries to life "if it does not kill you, it makes you stronger", but it does not work. So Durance is the "spiritual successor" of Dakkon. He endures suffering, but the only result is more suffering. Dakkon is an example for "lawful stupid". He keeps his promise even though it makes him a slave, the whole thing is based on a lie and the person he gave the promise does not remember him or his promise. Grieving mother is the spiritual successor of Kreia. Physically weak, mentally strong, manipulating others. Kreia is my favourite character of all computer games. In the star wars universe (created around the conflict between good and evil) she identifies the struggle between good and evil as mayor source of suffering and goes literally beyond good and evil (to stay with Nietsche). Of course, her point of view is strongly biased by her desire for vengeance. I hope Chris will continue to make good games. His characters are the best ones (though I never want to meet such people in my real life). By the way: "Beyond good and Evil" is also a very good game, but it has nothing to do with this topic or Nietsche.

Thank you I play a barbarien right now. I really like her. Boreal dwarf with max might, max int, some dex, cloth and tall grass or tidefall. She makes more damage than the rest of the party together (Aloth and grieving mother use mostly debuff spells). But she needs to wait some time until the enemies gather around the tank (Eder). Else she is dead within seconds. A barbarien that charges in first and enemies die around him because they attack him sounds nice.

Ich habe jetzt die Datei aus deinem Link runtergeladen. Der Name des Speicherplatzes ist zu lang. Auf Englisch sieht es in Ordnung aus. Hat das was mit dem Patch zu tun?

note: I am from germany and I read Nietsche in german. My translations are just guesses. Nietsche wrote "God is dead, god stays dead and we killed it." (This is not from Zarathustra.) Overview: Zarathustra leaves his home at the age of 30 and lives alone in a cave on top of a mountain for 10 years. There he invents his "theory" that can be summarized as "transformation through challange". He likes those who seek change and danger. He hates those who want to live a peaceful life where things stay as they are. He says" Man is not a goal but a bride. It is something you must pass. Man has evolved from worm to ape to man. As man now looks down at the ape as something primitive, the übermensch will look down at man in the future. I tell you, you still got too much worm within you." He travels the world, meets lots of people and gives comments about it. Which means he insults half of the universe. At the end he find several people (one after the other, not all at once) he consideres worthy ( which means most normal people would call them insane). He sends them to his home while he continues his search for the übermensch. When he comes home, they pray to a donkey because the animal is happy and does not desire anything. Zarathustra is shocked, he beats them and sends them away (with the worst insults you can imagine). Then he continues to travel alone. It think this is very similar to Durance. A strange hermit who follows the principle "transformation through challange" and who beats and insults lots of people all the time. However, Zarathustra did not kill people nor did he build a bomb.

I see strange icons
Madscientist posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
When I select another char and then I select Aloth, I see this symbol. I do not see such a symbol on any other char. If I press the "print" button to make a screenshot, I select this spell. In case I did create a hotkey, I have no idea how I did it. It is not written in the "control" options. I have also no Idea how to remove it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9zhr1pkwraej3xr/0ee25d71d5054a4a9a9e289f647ae6a9%2011441492%20EndlessPathsofOdNuaLevel7.savegame?dl=0 When I created this save, I saw this and Kanas chant icon was also jumping. The jumping is gone now, though I did not load a file since then. -

description: When you enchant the sabre resolution before using it with the statue, the sabre will loose your new enchantment when you get it back from the statue. steps to reproduce: - get "resolution" from lv4 of endless path - enchant the sabre with any enchantment - go to lv 3, give the sabre to the statue and get it back - When you get it back the sabre will be as you found it. All additional enchantment will be gone. I have version 1.06

Kana Chanting icon jumping up and down
Madscientist replied to a question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
I want to add that it happens for me too. Not always, but sometimes. I have version 1.06. I am in Endless path level 2 with Kana. Edit: When it happened, it remained after leaving the map, including leaving the endless path. Saving and loading the game solved the problem. -
Is there a way to see what accurancy the trap will have, when char x with machanic skill y wants to use it? (except placing the trap and looking at the combat log when it hits the enemy.) When I put the mouse over a hostile spell in the hotbar, the tooltip shows the accurency and targeted defence. This is not the case for traps or scrolls. So the attack roll for the trap in the right picture used by a char with 0 mechanic skill is: X = (-40) - (target defection) + 1d100 The accurancy for a scroll is: X = (base spell accurancy) - (enemy defense) + 1d100 It would be nice to have, if the tooltip for hostile items shows the accurancy in the same way as it does for hostile spells.

Does anybody know if retaliate and the damage from being a fire godlike at low endurance cause carnage when version 2.0 comes? If yes, I might create a barbarien with max res, dumb dex, the shield and cape that give retaliate and a 1h weapon that either drains endurance or stunns the enemy. He will get the usual tank talents (cautious attack, weapon + shield style, +deflection) plus frightening presence and OSA. How does OSA work together with hold the line or weapons that give +engagement? It will do less damage than the ones you posted. But it will survive well while doing more damage than a paladin tank. I want to play on hard, not POTD.

Sorry, my mistake. I did move the file to dropbox, but when something new happened, I replaced the old file with the new one. I guess all files I posted today are gone. If I put all files I have ever had into that folder, I will have no idea what file is what. I think it would make problems if I change the file name to a name that makes sense. I am new to dropbox and I forgot that I do only created a link to a file. I do not upload the file itself. There is always an error message when I try to attach a file.

I enter Cilaban Rilag and move forward. The developer comment starts and a moment later Eder starts to talk about his quest. When I wait until both Eder and the developer have finished their talk before I close the dialogue box, the devoloper comment sysbol remains. I can close it by clicking the X. Please do it like most other games that you put an icon in the game world and when you use it the developer comments starts. I could not listen to many comments because they are interrupted by combat (level 2 of endless paths) or by dialogue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8wemo6gpgqkm93s/0ee25d71d5054a4a9a9e289f647ae6a9%2010751359%20ClabanRilag.savegame?dl=0

I am in the Inn. I talk to Lord harond and finish the quest. They walk away slowly a few meters. When they are at the position of our group, the screen gets black very fast and gets back to normal very fast to. This appears irritating to me, compared to the other cut scenes in the game. They should walk away until they leave the screen and the fade out and in should be slower. This is not really a bug because I can finish the quest without problems https://www.dropbox.com/s/ah7sd6njfraivor/0ee25d71d5054a4a9a9e289f647ae6a9%2010691599%20GasthausDracogen.savegame?dl=0

I left the skaen temple through Trygils shop (killing them both). Then I talked to Hendyna to give her the dragen egg. A scroll appeared at the top of the screen to show the quest update. At the same time I saw that there are 2 new stronghold updates (green glowing icon at the lower screen). I pressed on the stronghold button ( while the scroll showed the quest update) and saw that I earned money and got a quest. When I left the stronghold menu the scroll (as it is in the picture) remained permanently on the screen. The strange thing is that I cannot reproduce the bug. When I load the game, the scroll is gone. If I load the autosave and finish the egg quest, I do not get a stronghold update (no money and no quest) You can see in the save that I do have a stronghold quest after finishing the egg quest. autosave when entering town https://www.dropbox.com/s/zx8iehhucs7pndv/0ee25d71-d505-4a4a-9a9e-289f647ae6a9%20autosave.savegame?dl=0 save after finishing the egg quest https://www.dropbox.com/s/r46xugwuws26415/0ee25d71d5054a4a9a9e289f647ae6a9%2010690291%20DorfDyrfurt.savegame?dl=0

BUG: hostile cultists
Madscientist posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
description: The cultists in the skaen temple should be friendly, but they are hostile steps to reproduce: - I entered the dungeon through the statue. - I went to the main chamber by killing only a few cultists. - I allowed the cultists to continue their plan. - All cultists in the area became friendly. - I left the chamber with the cult leader through the secret door and killed some beetles. - I explored the rest of the dungeon. The cultists were friendly. - I saved the game while standing near some friendly cultists. - I quit the game and shut down the computer. - Later I loaded the file and all cultists except the leader and his group were hostile. expected behaviour: Once you become a friend of the cultists they should remain friendly until you perform a hostile action. files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h49v7a4gcl501um/0ee25d71d5054a4a9a9e289f647ae6a9%2010677366%20RuinenvonDyrfurt.savegame?dl=0 -
problems with spell targeting
Madscientist replied to Madscientist's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
New Bug: When I load the file in the ruins, the cultists are hostile. I entered the dungeon through the statue and killed only a few enemies between there and the main chamber. I agreed to their plan and they became friendly. Then I explored the rest of the dungeon without problems. I saved because I had to stop playing and when I start again they are hostile.
