I have forgotten to post this yesterday. I was fighting the skuldrs and skuldr kings (on hard) in the lowest part of the eothas temple. (The room where you find the helmet.) Aloth casted slicken and the enemies fell on the ground. One enemy moved to Aloth in the prone position and when he stood up again he attacked Aloth. I have used knockdown or slicken a lot, but it happened exactly once that an enemy moved while prone.

This is the room south of the room with the closed door and the bells. I have defeated the skudrs. I was fighting the skuldrs using the door of this room as bottleneck. When the fight was over the world looked normal but the ghost was standing there. I saved the game and entered the room. The look of the world changed to the way you see at the picture, but I was unable to interact with the ghost. The look remained when I was walking around the entire map. Leaving the area removed the effect. When I returned to this room it looked normal, the ghost was still there and I was unable to interact with it. Reloading the game did not help. Leaving the game and loading it again from the title sceen allowed me to interact with the ghost normally. I was unable to save the game when this visual effect was there (save button grayed out in the menu).

The formula is: damage done = (base damage * ( 1 + modifier1 + modifier2 + . . . + modifierXXX)) - DR So you have 20 base damage, +15% from might, +50% from crit, +50% from sneak attack, +30% from weapon enchantment, +10% fom buffs and your enemy has 10DR. This would be: damage done = (20 * ( 1 + 0.15 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.3 + 0.1) -10) = ( 20 * 2.55 ) - 10 = 51 - 10 = 41 If the targets DR is more then 80% of your damage before DR, you will do 20% of the damage before DR. Is this formula correct? The wiki itself said it is outdated The game guide (also outdated) does not give any formula.

I started my char with mig 3, con 9, dex 18, per 21, int 18, res 9. I can confirm what mazeltov said: Create a char with high interrupt. Fight until you have interrupted and enemy with a graze, hit and crit. Put your mouse over the combat log line with the interrupt. You will see: your interrupt value + 1d100 = sum > enemy concentration On a hit your interrupt value will be the same number as in your character sheet. On a graze it will be 25 lower and on a crit 25 higher.

Thank you Regarding stats, if I max out perception, I have to sacrifice something else. What should it be? Low con and res would be bad for a melee char and a barbarian with dumped might seems really strange. I want to play on hard with a full party. Pallagina as tank, Zahua and me as melee damage, Durance for buffs and 2 ranged chars (Aloth, GM, Hiravias, Sagani, 2 of them) Lets say I consider hard mode as story mode for advanced players. Edit: I know that you do not need an optimized char for hard (actually I have not played PotD yet), but I do not know WM1+2 and I like the story more than very hard combat. Having an optimized char makes the game easier on all difficulties and all those infos here may be useful for someone who wants to play on PotD.

As I have already said several times, I want to play with a barbarien who focusses on interrupting and CC large groups of enemies with his auto attacks. I played around with the stats and I thought about: mig: 9 con: 9 dex: 17 per: 17 int: 17 res: 9 Are those stats good or do you know something better? I do not want to dump stats, but a barbarien with low might feels strange. For those who do not know what this char is: I want to focus on dual wielding weapons that have a high interrupt and/or cause prone/stunn. And I take interrupting blows and threatening presence. As race I think about hearth orlan, pale elf or moon godlike.

I have 3 questions about interrupt: - In order to interrupt you have to hit somebody while this somebody attacks with a weapon, casts a spell or reloads a weapon. Nothing happens if the target does nothing, is already interrupted, moves or is in recovery time. If you interrupt, the target stops whatever it is doing and cannot do anything for X sec interrupt time. Is this correct? - The wiki says, that you get +50 interrupt on a crit and -50 interrupt on a graze. So if your default interrupt chance is 25%, it would be 0% on a graze and 75% on a crit. Is this true or is the wike even more useless than I thought? - Does the lengh of an interrupt depend on: a) your intelligence? b) if it is a graze/hit/crit? I have not played for a long time and when I start again I want to use a dual wielding interrupt barbarian.

I have finished the original game some time ago. The game is good, but the second half of the game was extremely easy (except one creature deep underground). When WM2 comes out, I will play again. I have read that WM1 is inserted in the original game, so either the expansion or the end of the game are very easy (depending on what you do first). - Is WM2 also a "side quest" of the original game as WM1? - Does the level scaling for WM1 work or are parts of the game always very easy? - How will level scaling work if you have both expansions?

I read this and I think about something to combine this with the monk you (Boeroer) have posted. I want a barbarien that attacks so fast that he interrupts/CCs a large group of enemies by just standing around and auto attack. That means: - high dex (attack speed), per (acc and interrupt) and int (AoE and duration), so mig,con and res will not be high (no dumping either) - dual wielding weapons that cause prone or stunn - abilities and talents: brute force + threatening presence, dual wielding, interrupting blows, accurate carnage, vulnerable and savage attack (no specific order) I want to play on hard (not PotD) and with a full party. I know that almost every char can finish that and the last time I played (which was at version 1.06) I could beat almost everything without problems (except the ardra dragon, after a few wipes I gave up). But I think that having a good main char makes it easier so I can focus on the story. some questions: - Do you think such a char could prevent a group of enemies from attacking so that other chars can do damage? (He will also do some damage, but there are barbarian with more damage, especially when my char does not have a very high might.) - What weapon type would you suggest? - regarding race, I thought about hearth orlan (dex, per, crit), moon godlike (dex, int, heal, but no helmet) or boreal dwarf (more acc vs many foes, but the stats do not fit well). Role playing wise I would prefer the orlan to have an barbarian/rogue mix. - does high int make the interrupt time longer or does it only affect status effects caused by abilities?

About SW: I play KotoR2 and yesterday I saw SW A new hope on TV. My thoughts: KotoR2 (mostly Kreia alone) has more depth then the 6 movies together. So KotoR2 is truely very unusual for SW. The movies have better graphics and better special effects, but the story is really flat. We already discussed something similar : http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70520-does-the-term-realistic-have-any-meaning-in-rpgs/. Is what we called "deconstruction of the monomyth" in KotoR2 the same thing as realism in the video of Sakai? Or simpler, is KotoR2 realistic? about the thing that used to be the topic: I am happy that Larian achieved all stretch goals and Chris writes for them. Before the good news many people demanded Chris as stretch goal, but Swen answered "Sorry, Chris is too stretched already." I am happy he was wrong and I hope they make a great game. -

Thank you. You said it better than I ever could. I do not like Kreia (I mean, in my real life I don´t want to be in the same room with such a person) I do not agree with her. But she is one of the most interesting chars in gaming history because of the points above. PS: TSL means The Sith Lords, the game we talk about, right? There are too many abbreviations in this world. @Zoraptor: You are right. Both jedi and sith are psychos. jedi codex (in my own words) You are a tool of the force. You must not have emotions. You must not think about your own needs. You must sacrifice yourself to help others. My comment: Every person who tries to live that way will either leave and hate this nonsense or will go insane. People have emotions and they must learn to live with them without being completely dominated by them. When you consider yourself a tool and you think you do only exist to serve others then you should realy visit a doctor. sith codex (in my own words) Only in the fighting of everbody vs everybody else it is ensured that the strongest rules. Kill your masters and suppress your servants to improve your position. Other people are only tools that you can use to achieve your goals. my comment: People who are unable to cooperate and to respect each other will never achieve anything. They will never build a huge empire. The fact that you could kill your master is not enough as qualification to be a good (good means effective, not the opposite of evil) leader. Everyone who tries to live like this will become paranoid or die by the hands of the people around him. As I have written before: jedi and sith are mages who are drunk with power and who follow extreme ideals that will finally fail. But they are good to make a 2h movie full of epic fights, special effects and big emotions. Who needs realism when you have all of this -

I think I understand the problem now. It is about SW fans vs. RPG fans. The center of the SW universe are 6 epic movies and I liked to watch all of them. SW is a simple story about good vs evil. It was never designed as base for complex RPG where there is not only black and white, but also lots of gray in between. As RPG player, I prefer complex stories (like the ones chris makes) over simple ones. Let me put it that way: KotoR2 is a game that may not fit well to the SW universe. But I consider it as one of the best RPGs ever and the fact that it is set in the SW universe does not matter much to me. -

I guess you mean outside the box. (= unusual) out of the box = normal I am from germany and I have a book about mistakes germans usually make in english. It called "The devil lies in the Detail". But I agree with what you say. -

My final words about this off topic thing: 1.) I disagree pretty strongly with this. The great thing about Kreia is that she's not right, but she does a great job of convincing you that she is. Thats the important point. Kreia talks all the time. But why the hell do you listen to an old frustrated woman who is ranting all the time. In many things she is right about the jedi and the sith. But she fails to see that her own point of view is also extreme, fanatic and causes lots of suffering. The difference between her and most other chars (not only in this game) is, that she is very good in talking in a very convincing and manupulative way, even if her talk is complete nonsens. 2.) The only one who can judge if KotoR2 fits to SW is George Lucas. In an interview he said that he was sad because SW was a movie for children. (good hero vs evil empire and the good one wins). The sith (especially the emperor) was also strongly inspired by the nazis and Hitler, a person who was good in manipulating others by talking disgusting nonsense. And no, Kreia is not Hitler. -

@gkathellar: I Think this scene was in the original version. I played it once without mods. Now I start again with the mods that restore missing content and the planet. He will write the background of a character. Larian games are good in world exploration and interactivity, but they are not so good in story and characters. I hope Chris will give them some useful input. @POLE7645: You don´t get it. Chis is good because he looks at an universe (DnD, SW, . . .) and then he deconstructs it to show us that the whole concept is flawed. Do you want to hear the same story a million times again or do you want some new ideas? I am really looking forward to Torment:Tides of Numenera. I hope it is even better than PST because they are free from the DnD restrictions (like good/evil and law/chaos alignment or class system, . . .) and they work together with the man who created this univers. -

You really hurt me. I play KotoR2 at the moment and I believe that Kreia is the best char in gaming history. Chris is great in playing with expectations and turning everything upside down. SW is about the good jedi vs the bad sith and the good ones always win in the end. Thats what you expect. To hell with that. Both jedi and sith are mages who are drunk with power and both follow extreme ideals that will finally fail. The world is gray and the fight between different fanatics causes nothing but suffering. Best get rid of all of them. Thats why I love chris. And by the way, Chris will not be the only writer at Larian. They have 7 already (8 with him).
