ye olde Red Alert
-
sent in the unemployment papers today... now to talk to officedepot and turn in the application to Barns and Nobel booksellers.
-
City of hero's Up -n- away burger (instead of In-n-Out) and a few funny NPC chats. Aww it took away the UI so you couldn't see the Chats.

I donno if this was said before but isn't Palin in court against the EPA over the fact that the Polar Bear was put on the Endangered species list and that would impact Alaskan Drilling? That said I would prefer either candidate over the fool in chief we have now.
-
I did (drumroll) nothing. Tomorrow I work for my four hours a week but thats about it. I'm waiting for job corp and need to send out tomorrow for unemployment. other than that it's just a matter of waiting on applications oh wait... I raided on WoW and got nothing... I am truly pathetic.

maybe it's because they have to be able to identify routes with the red in order for you to keep moving and then have extra textures should you choose to switch off the red stuff? I'm reaching I know. Mirrors edge looks awesome.

I never got into it, tried the trial. I think it was more of a timing issue than the game itself. I like to play games when they are brand new, it's harder for me to get into a game if it's been around for awhile. I had the same issue with EQ1. the thing about COH/COV is that most of OH doesn't suck you in as much as COV does. In CoV you see stuff like Luddites talking about "This is a good protest, that is a bad protest" "can we use hammers?" "no that's part of the bad protest see?" or you see two thugs shooting at eachother with tommy guns while you fly past to your next destination. COH, most of the backstory is told by quest text... and god all mighty is there a lot of quest text.

Ever tried City of Heroes?
-
I've only really played COH and WoW for any length of time. I probably liked COH better but the drama has a tenancy to get out of hand as the servers are quite small in comparison to wow where you might see another person again but it's more than likely not.

MGS4 was Hideo Kojima going "I swear I'm really done, so I'm not going to leave any plots hanging!" and tied everything up for good or evil. Personally MGS2 was my favorite but it generally gets yelled at for having a cerebral plot and a pretty boy protagonist MGS3 is overly menutastic while MGS1 just feels wierd to those who grew up on MGS2+3 Edit: I broke down and bought City of Heroes/City of Villians Good Vs evil edition.... it came with a month free (which makes up almost all the price of the games) so I'm gonna try it again for a month.

Fringe is brand new. Gen Kill is very serialized and very... different Heroes season two just came out on dvd.
-
two things, one I can't find where Kingdoms Grand Campaign is (found 3.4b but not 3.0) and two, why has nobody mentioned Rome total Realism?
-
Apart from the cutscenes, how's the actual game? your standard fare hack and slash for the Nariko parts. I personally liked the other bits better as you were able to do some... interesting things with that crossbow bolt.

you wouldn't happen to be able to tell me where to go to get unemployment would you? Have had several generally unspectacular days, basically just hunting up and down for a job and hoping that one of the applications that I put into the county pops (because the government is a nice boss in general), trying to get insurance for my meds (thinking about going on the disability list) and trying to find out where to go to get unemployment because having 0 cash sucks. I managed to suckerpunch my way back into my the job that only gives me four hours a week with the fact that I was technically on "military leave" but I'm not willing to go back to that horror show called McDonalds for any amount of money... I just hated that place with an intense passion. Current applications in are for Borders and to the county for the Landscaping Maintenance aide. Hoping to get the Landscaping one because it could turn into a career. Need to call Job Corp back to get in touch with a councilor... I'm rambling aren't I?

Just finished too human... You know, for a game that spent 10(?) years in development it kinda ends abruptly.

He nails it. Assassin's Creed can be such an awesome game but ended up lacking and unsatisfying. The unskippable bad written dialogues in-game that can even last up to 5 minutes does push your patience and limits. Do have a zen book closeby and make sure your gun's locked, unloaded and nowhere within arm's reach. The plot itself is unnecessarily convulted. I would prefer the game to simply set in the Jerusaleum setting than going back and forth from past to present timeline. Anyway, meh. Good graphics and awesome scenery. I'll just give that. the dialogue level is refreshing after playing Metal Gear solid 4

you'll get "speed travel" where you simply leave a city and hit another city once you've done the first three assassinations. You're never in blend mode unless you hold the button.

eh... we've already got a georgia... they'd be New Georgia.

Hmmm this is a genre worth reviving

I always found splinter cell to be to slow for me. Donno why. Hitman I think falls into the spygame catagory too. -

Calax replied to Seeker1's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I don't think spy games are considered very "fun" by the main gaming demographic because they are usually implemented as a first person shooter that has missions that either require you to do XYZ in exactly that order in precisely the correct timing and take forever, or they get turned into action games where the actual spying is just moving from point a to b without being seen or killed. I personally hate that gameplay as I find it a little bit boring and tedious. I think it'd be hard to implement as a Crpg without going the Oblivion/Fallout route. -
so it's a three way? :doesn't have picture of game yet... going back to rainbow 6 vegas 2

You could always check out Metal Gear Solid 2-4 in the meantime ) bah, Console games don't count. my PS3 is too busy being a really expensive DvD player to play these console games you speak of! heh tranqs Xiga

That'd be it. I gave up reading them after I read about someone cutting/digging their way into a fething MOUNTAIN using a lightsaber. It was like that point when you're kids and someone refuses to die after the 'bang bang'. I felt really sorry for the poor stormtroopers. They'd done a proper professional job of securing their fortress and the jedi just get silly. he also did most of the mainline battletech stuff back in the day, then he quit because they didn't give him enough money/recognition for the fans he was bringing, and the star wars books he did were only the Xwing novels and maybe a few comics. He also has some really fun fantasy stuff (dragons vs guns for example)

They didn't' court martial me (I'm back home now) all they did was dock my last weeks pay (well after the Captain signed my paper) and send me home greyhound. What I really want to fight is my re-enlistment code. That sucker is the big thing that pisses me off, because I've got an RE-4 which means I'm unable to re-enlist and most federal agencies won't even look at me for a job... I'm just wondering how the heck to go about getting that changed. I had bipolar well before I entered the military, I just didn't think it was a big thing because I told my recruiter and all he asked was "are you on medications?" to which I responded no and he just went on like there wasn't a problem in the world. the thing I did knowingly (and stupidly) conceal was that I'd had counseling up until about 2 months before entering the navy. :shruggies: I guess I'll go Job corp or Borders (currently working on the app to the latter) I was curious about this so I did a little research. It all depends on th type of discharge you got. It sounds lie this will be an entry level separation or "For the Good of the Service" discharge which it a General Discharge or Medical Discharge. It that is true there may be very little you can do about the RE code. If it is a General on "Other than Honorable" that you would have legal standing to challenge since you did not deceive the service to enter. I've posted the Link below. The short answer is if you can upgrade the discharge it upgrades the RE code. Ironic isn't it, you have to hope for a bad deal to try to get a better one but if they give you a fair deal you have no shot at a better one. That's the US military for you. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Careers-Militar...ent-Navy-re.htm Crap... From the sound of it I'm pretty much screwed. As most jobs that are within the Gvmnt won't hire an RE4, nor will I be able to get a job that requires a clearance. Dast and Fie, there goes my chances at joining the post office. Well now I'm unemployed with debts topping about $2.2k for my schooling misadventures in the past. Plus I need to find a way to get enough money for the medication so that I can stay in stable condition and not have another... incident like I had during boot, and for the therapy I need. I supposed I could stop the actual therapy as really all it is is me just getting what I need to talk about out of my system because I have nothing remotely close to what many would consider a social life. Most of my social interaction I'm sad to say comes from my computer either via this board or (prior to entering service) WoW. Anyone know where I could get either Medical, Medicare, medicaid or somthing similar? I've tried but it looks like you can only get it if your Old, Pregnant, Terminally Ill, or really young. Maybe the Bipolar support group I'm headed to on wends will help me out.

It's Ok. Think baldurs gate: Dark Alliance without as much stat toying you most of your stat boosts come from either skills which are dependant on your class, or your equipment. Doesn't have a very deep creation system you just find plans and pay money to make the item you found the plans for. the Items themselves come with bonus's not unlike the Diablo system. Hell I'd consider this game to be Diablo 2 and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance's Love child. Combat can get boring as all you do is push the right analog stick towards your chosen opponent. you also get abilities based on your class and weather you chose to be human or Cybernetic at the VERY beginning of the game. it's visually appealing but what isn't these days My biggest beef is the way that they called it an RPG. It's more an Action RPG with out much in the way of quests or dialogue options or anything close to the amount of story that most RPGs (even Action RPG's) these days have. You find yourself kicking the main characters in you're head because the game pretty much leaves no mysteries about what's going on, only once have I ever found myself even going "huh that was unexpected". Admittedly I'm only about 4 hours in but I don't think based upon reviews it'll get any better. It's a game for the diablo crowd and even then only the casual diablo fans imho.
