  1. You're right! The rate is actually way too low. The AIs are definitely cheating though, since it's impossible for me to get a tech lead.
  2. Looks like it will go even higher. Luckily the rate only applies to government spendings but not including the research money. Once you adopt civics with low upkeeps and build tons of courthouses, it's not that bad any more.
  3. I am beginning to think so myself. 23% inflation is just ridiculous though. I'd join a multi-player game too.
  4. It's at 23% now. I searched on google and found no answers. Tried a few things like keeping a yearly deficit, getting rid of my stashed gold, etc. No solutions yet. Does someone else know his inflation rate in the game?

  6. Pessimistic way of thinking. I'd like to think everybody here is a hot single woman until proven otherwise.
  7. Haven't gotten that far yet, but Communism looks promising with 'state property' civic which gets rid of all city maintenances and could cut the financial spending in half. Another thing I noticed is that wonders are not as important any more.
  8. I have a different approach though. I always emphasize food and production first so I can grab as much land as possible then I start working on my commerce. The problem is that my inflation rate is a whopping 22%! It costs more than my upkeep money. Doesn't inflation rate usually stay around 3~5% for a healthy economy?
  9. A quick question: does anyone know how the inflation rate works? It's eating up my research money.
  10. Though I'd like to think for a religious man, his love for God should come before his love for everything else because that is the foundation of his entire being. So if either of you two would like to convert, I would hope it's due to the result of the union of you two not so that your union would be the result. Just some friendly advice.
  11. Go China! (w00t) Btw, I pissed under one of those before... :D
  12. Never mind. She's a Muslim. I should have read more carefully. I think if the difference in culture couldn't stop you two young birds from falling in love, the different ways you guys worship the same God shouldn't be a problem. I wonder if you have seen Kingdom of Heaven. There is one scene when Orlando Bloom saw the Muslims praying in the morning at the beach and asked other Christians about it and said "they don't seem all that different from us". Maybe totally irrelevant but I just thought I'd mention this.
  13. CoF - If you don't mind me asking, what religion does the girl follow then?
  14. I don't think Christ ever forbade any man to get married, teacher of the faith or not. Also I think a person cannot know truth without doubt and the search for truth shall never end throughout our lives.
  15. I guess I would take a shot at this. If God wants to get rid of all prejudice and hatred, he could; but that will take away our free will as well. Personally, I'd like to think that the world is a workshop and God has given us all the tools necessary to make this world perfect. The rest will depend on us. If God has made the world perfect in the first place, what work is there left for us? Our lives shall then lack purpose. Why would you then ever want to become a man of cloth if there is no work needs to be done?
  16. If the God thing doesn't work out, you can always worship Baley instead.
  17. President Bush looking sharp in a dress...
  18. Why does Bao-dur's head look like a teapot? Cool link btw.
  19. Actually I did. How are different names or birthplaces related to a contradiction in the nature of the prophets though? Christ is called Yiesu instead of Yeshua in Chinese. It really doesn't mean much.
