  1. It's because they test for steroids for those 'legitimate' competitions. Otherwise, all those people would have been out of jobs by now: http://www.ronniecoleman.net/monsterweights.html I agree it's a beauty pageant though.
  2. The guy squats 1200 pounds with his massive legs and still could do a full split. Sure, lots of his muscles are juiced up but I would still consider him pretty athletic.
  3. Makes me happy to be vegertarian. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Got to feed 1.5 billion people somehow... ^_^ Oh yeah, DL still needs you! More participants, please!
  4. I did say bodybuilding is No. 1.
  5. Just curious. Btw, how do you speak British in a non-British accent though? ^_^
  6. There. Judge for yourselves. It's quite obvious that outside of bodybuilding, American football is probably the sport that produces the most muscle freaks...

In US at least, free speech is protected by the Constitution as along as it does not undermine national security.
  8. What nationality are you again, Surreptishus? British?
  9. julianw replied to Gabrielle's topic in Way Off-Topic
That's why KKK is still around.
  10. Let's see: Civ 4, Prince of Persia 2, Max Payne 2, PS:Torment, Kotor2. Those are all the games on my computer now. I guess Civ 4 is what I play the most nowadays.
  11. The Chinese would eat it even when it is not... :D Now that I think of it, I have eaten some strange things over time... ) I guess caterpillars top the list. Snakes are a close second. Oh yeah, (Kafty), before you force choke me over the net, I have never eaten a dog before and have no plans to do so either. :">
  12. Seems like you and Commissar's opinions on evangelists are pretty similar. Judaism is a highly exclusive religion. It's no wonder why Jewish rabbis don't come up to you and tell you to convert. Confucianism is very much cultural-oriented. Confucius's philosophy has touched a larger portion of East Asia, but it spread through culture and not by missionaries. Buddhism spread in similar ways. This is largely due to the fact that both religions do not have a central institution that actively organizes the spread its religion. Now Christianity and Islam on the other hand, both have highly organized institutions of power that direct their followers' actions. It's no wonder both religions had spread much faster throughout history. For Christianity though, the church and even the title Pope was not officially sanctioned by Christ Himself. When Muhammad died, Islam also divided into sects. I will not argue whether these divisions and the institutions and priests emerged as the result are good or bad, but they are at least not designed by Christ or Muhammad for each of their religions. Hence, they are human institutions. Many would cite words like 'you are either with Me or against Me' or 'no one comes to the Father but through Me' to argue that Christ does not give man any choice about the practice of religion. But I would also cite words like 'not all who cry to Me 'Lord, Lord' shall enter heaven, but those who do the will of My Father in heaven' and 'whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is my mother, sister and brother' to argue that Christ does not condemn all non-Christians. As for Muhammad, he did wage war on the pagans to convert them into Islam. First of all, those were uncivilized barbarians who practiced many sinful acts such as burying their first-borns if they were daughters. Secondly, Muhammad did so out of self-defense for they pursued Him and His followers hundreds of miles across the Arabian Desert, seeking to destroy them. Muhammad left the Jewish and Christian tribes alone and only taxed them for protection from enemy tribes. (Do we not also pay taxes to our own governments?) He had always recoganized Moses and Jesus as true prophets from God. As I have stated before, actively preaching one's own religion is appreciated by me because it shows that he/she is sincere about his/her faith and care for others. But if any one ever comes up to you and tells you that 'convert now or you will be eternally tortured because I am right and you are wrong', you can just scoff at them. There is no need to get upset at all. Obviously he/she does not even know his/her own religion. Otherwise, he/she surely would have known how lowly and humble Christ, Muhammad and Buddha have conducted themselves during their lives, and they are the ones who claimed to be the Lord and could never be wrong and here some flawed (as we all are) individuals are telling you with arrogance that they are absolutely right. As I said, scoff at them.
  13. So you are saying your God came first, and all other religions are branches of your religion? I'm not talking about Christianity, I'm talking about all the religions of the world. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't have a religion and God is not my personal God but the universal God. All the religions in the world deal with the subject of God and they are all God's religions. Yes, they use different words to describe God's nature and give God different names. They had different rituals and customs about how to worship God and they don't all agree on how God should be served. It's because different messengers were sent to different regions of the Earth where people have different cultures and historical backgrounds. A Christian is no more right than a Buddhist on the subject of God because they worship the same God. You can believe in reincarnation or heaven and hell in this lifetime. These opinions no longer matter in the afterlife. They all believe that souls are eternal and this body is only a physical entity that perishes sooner or later. They all believe that there is a greater being that connects us all and that we may strengthen that connection through the practice of religion.
  14. God has only one religion, that is to be good. It's the interpretation of 'good' that led to all these sects.
  15. Blank - I think Mothman has a good point here. Blank - You think the child-molesting priests actually know and believe in Christ? I say they don't. A man who could be afraid of the law, the government, or other man so that he does his crime in secret yet has not enough fear from his Lord to prevent him from ever doing such a crime obviously doesn't know God, doesn't know Christ, and cannot call himself a follower of Christ. Of course if he actually repents and tries everything in his power to atone for his sins, he might still receive salvation, but as those have not happened, I do not call him a Christian. As you said yourself before, you judge the words from the Bible by your heart. Read what Mothman said above, Christ did say that 'nobody comes to the Father but through Me'. He declared Himself to be the final judge and the final gateway. Yet you know that He is the all-knowing and all-powerful. A good man might not know Christ's name or the words he spoke. But if he knows the spirit of Christ, which is truly what matters the most, and his actions exemplify all the good Christian qualities. Ask your heart, will Christ, whose heart is 'gentle and lowly' turn away such a good man? Remember Christ also said 'whoever does the will of My Father in Heaven is my mother, brother and sister'.
  16. I know. Sports are destroying humanity...
  17. Meta - There is even pink in your avatar! (Just noticed...)
  18. Nice work, people! Came across this while surfing: yoda calls ... (13+) I thought it was funny as hell. :D
  19. Probably not related but a nice little story that gives people hope: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051107/wl_nm/mideast_donor_dc At least it gives me hope that as long as we love humanity, the different religions can coexist peacefully.
  20. Think about your friend who wouldn't give up until you actually went to see the movie with him and how enthusiastic he was about this; and that's just over a film. This is about the question. The ultimate question. The answer to life, universe and everything. He wouldn't be much of a friend if he ever gives up on persuading you about that (unless you persuade him to see things through your point of view first).
  21. As has been said ad nauseum in this thread, you can be Christian all you want without any trouble from the average atheist, agnostic, Jew, whatever. Right up until the point where you try to convince us you're right. And you get bonus points for actually quoting scripture to prove your point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think of yourself in their position though. What kind of Christians would they be if they truly believe in Christ's cause yet do not follow His example, which is to heal the 'sick' and make the 'blind' see? I would have more of a problem with the Christians who could care less about me going to 'Hell'. The Christians I have typed with on this forum have always shown great respect for others' beliefs and that is enough with me. None of them are exceedingly preachy, either. But think of it in this way. When you find a great movie or a nice restaurant, don't you want to share what you have found with your friends and those you care for? I actually appreciate the Christians who share their beliefs with me. It at least shows that they are sincere about the faith and care for others. Some of them could be a little more tactful though. I used to have a Christian floormate who is deeply concerned for my soul and every day he tells me I should convert. One night, the kid woke me up 2 am in the morning and cried to me something like 'save your soul now', so I was finally fed up with him and told him to shove it... You guys don't know how blessed you truly are that our Christian members are all so reasonable.
  22. Mothman, Eldar and Blank - "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." My suggestion: defend your faith when necessary but do so with a gladdened heart.
  23. No no no... My line is totally different. It's am I right? I mean, am I right, fellas?
