Injuries, the red-iconed semi-permament debuffs, seem to be underutilized. I see them in scripted interactions and that would be it. Is there a reason there isn't more of them in the game? I wouldn't mind seeing injuries being inflicted: 1. When the character is knocked out. (Perhaps 50% of the time, with the chance being further reduced with Survival?) 2. By bosses. (It would make them more terrifing.) 3. By magic weapons on crits. (For flavor. If proper injury is chosen it shouldn't be more powerful than Stunning or Overbearing weapons.) 4. By spells on crits. (For flavor AND it would make enemy spellcasters more terryfing.)

Do Weapon Focus bonuses stack?
Magnificate replied to Magnificate's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Well, I wouldn't mind more combinations of weapons getting their own talents, so that each weapon is present in two or three Weapon Groups. There's no problem if bonuses from those don't stack. The issue is having varied weapon combinations, especially melee/ranged weapon pairs. Perhaps the Fighter could get an unique class talent, Weapon Focus for 3 cherry-picked weapons of his/her choice? -
Character signatures for all!

Indeed, you'd need to fiddle with the background for that to work. -
Character signatures for all!

Sure, why not. Avery "Adventurer to the bitter end. Spice merchant afterwards." Dark Blue -
https://eternity.obsidian.net/img/media/artwork/pe-pillarsofeternitymap-1750x1426.jpg I've looked at the above map and saw that the village of Dyrford was marked on it. Why would it? As far as we can see in-game this village consists of several buidlings. Isn't it to small to warrant inclusion on general maps? Or is the population so sparse that every settlement is significant?

BTW, any suggestion for an Elven Ranger with particular dislike towards ogres? Perhaps in the 'Name the Nickname' format? -

1. Does this game have an ending? By which I mean, is the story fully resolved by the end of the game OR are there plans for PoE to be duology/trilogy/ect. ? 2. If I'm doing every quest and sidequest available, how fast can I expect to hit the level cap? Half of the game? Two-thirds? Never? 3. Are there any checks that require low ability scores or skill values? 4. Can I choose Woedica as the deity for my priest? If no, why not? -

Focus on one of the companions. Perhaps Sagani, whom we already saw joining the team? Or Aloth, one of the earliest companions? -
Character Names
Magnificate replied to BlueLion's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You can always look up variants of that name. 'Hrodger' should fit nicely. I'm being told that it's old germanic. For the record, my first character will be named Avery (if from Aedyr) or Charlotte (if from Vailia), I haven't quite decided yet. -

In fact, I wouldn't mind if the game suggested appropriate names during character creation, in the vein of CK2 character editor. -
Aren't you afraid the realeased game could contradict some of your writting?

Number of portraits?
Magnificate replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Quoted for Truth. The problem is even more exacerbated in BG1. Heck, not even the new companions from BG:EE have in-style portraits! I've been on the lookout for good female portraits for years, and found only one portrait that barely qualifies as "in-style". Namely, this one: That being said, PoE seems to have much less distinctive style, which makes it significantly easier to find potential portraits online. I approve. Of course, the more in-game portraits, the less need to search for them on-line. There should be at least 3 per Subrace/Gender/Culture. Class portraits are less important, since in PoE all classes can use all armors and weapons. If all else fails, I've got this one in reserve for the first character I plan to play (Human Priestess): -
ā ?
Magnificate replied to Magnificate's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
So, it's just about looking cool? That explains why I couldn't hear a difference between " sāt " and normal " st " and why those enotikons appeared in both the descriptive text and actual dialogue. I assumed that since one of the designers is focused on culture, then ā meant something. -
I've seen some dialogues in the most recent Twitch stream and saw enotikons being used. Why? What're they supposed to denote?

BTW, why aren't there more deities to choose from? There are 11 deities listed in the wiki, yet only 5 of the can have priests?
