  1. KotORII: Project 1. NWNII: Project 2. PNJ: Project 3. KotORIII: Project 4?
  2. Okay, we get it, you're a feminist and like evil things. It'd still suck.
  3. Most complaints about Drizzt are so out in left field, it is laughable.
  4. Jetlag has, literally, ZERO to do with the discussion. Jetlag is having to adapt suddenly to a change in the timezone which causes you to go to sleep earlier or stay awak longer for a single day. Then you suddenly resume what seems like a normal routine only to be thrust into a new one after the return trip. Our bodies weren't "designed" to work this way. They evolved to work during the day. Also, I'm not sure where you're getting this bit about hormones and metabolism, study after study has shown that metabolic rate is not fixed, and that it adapts. You'll have to support this. Stress related disease are also more prevailant among certain races more than others. Obviously, humans were not designed to be those races. AM = morning. 12am (midnight) until 11:59am. PM = night. 12pm(noon) until 11:59pm.
  5. First rule of off-topic...
  6. Lancer, you have no idea what you're talking about. People are tired at 2am because they wake up at 7am. If I woke up at 11pm, I could work grave yard shift work too. Studies show people are most productive in the window 2 hours after waking up and 2 hours before. It has nothing to do with the hour of the day, it has to do with the hours of the day which you have set your schedule towards. I have worked graveyard shifts, no problem. The first few days are rough, as you try to reset your schedule, but after 2-3 days you're completely normal in terms of productivity.
  7. And you don't think that's caused by the "mechanics"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Mechanics has nothing to do with simple enemy design.
  8. As far as I'm concerned, the combat engine of KotOR is fine. The problem was not the mechanics of the fights. The problem, for me, with KotOR's combat was that the fights were dull and there was no real diversity. Stab, stab, stab, die. Stab, stab, stab, die. Stab, stab, stab, die. Level up. Stab, stab, stab, die. Stab, stab, stab, die. Stab, stab, stab, die. Level up. If the combat had been more diverse, the multiple fighting styles mattered, it had been more challenging, etc... it'd have been much more fun. I liked how the combat handled, just not the actual fighting.
  9. Roy Roger's Cheeseburger and fries. Don't look at me like that, I just worked 12 hours.
  10. I like cheese on my popcorn! No! I like butter on my popcorn! I like caramel on my popcorn! STFU or you're not getting ANY popcorn.
  11. The Jedi Knight combat may be realistic, but it is also twitchfest 2006. I hate that kind of combat, especially when it is fast-paced and there are friendly NPCs running around with AI stupid enough for them to walk into your swinging weapon. I'll take KotOR's combat, if enemies were more difficult. Thanks.
  12. I would rather they make games they want to make than RPGEEZ like Diablo. If they like the game they're working on, we get better games. Even if they make an action game, it is likely to have RPG elements. If they have to do that in order to make more RPGs later, fine with me.
  13. Uh... its been 1 episode since Starbuck was in. Clash with the Cylons? 2 episodes back they took out their ressurection ship. The show is about humanity, coming to grips with what they lost, and what they need to do in order to survive. The conflict with the Cylons should take a back seat, especially now that the Ressurection ship has been destroyed. Also, they're in a constant struggle with the Cylons, like the whole baby issue, and the group being led by the blond Cylon (did they ever give her a name, or is it just number 5?)
  14. No particular order, except in the order they came into my mind. Jolee Bindo HK-47 Dak'kon Tiax Xzar Visas Canderous Kheldorn Magus/Janus Frog
  15. None of which actually qualify it as an RPG. They are staples in the genre, but not genre-defining. Common misconception. Sports games have stats and skills. Some even have classes and equipment. Meh - It is an alright game. Nothing really groundbreaking, aside from the multiplayer aspects.
  16. Well, aren't I the fool? I thought you meant the NWN script language wasn't, since you mentioned it in the parenthesis. At anyrate, even some NWN scripts are rather imposing. Like my modified crafting scripts and death system. If you intend to mod games, you need at least a basic grasp of programming. I would consider myself a novice programmer, and I get dumbstruck when staring at some code, especially if there is insufficient commenting.
  17. Meh, I should've used oPC, since in this case Gromnir would be the PC, but meh.
  18. Setting variables is as user-friendly as it gets. If you dedicate yourself to it for more than 5 minutes you can understand the functions I wrote above. Most people just panic when they see it isn't written in sentences and give up. The top line is the new function used to increase a variable's value by 1. It would look like this in a script: IncreaseLocalInt(oGromnir, sVillain1); That, if placed on a dialogue option, would increase the Villain1 tally by 1.
  19. I just cooked (and ate) some lemon-pepper and garlic chicken with alfredo noodles. A bowl full of health food... Okay, so maybe the alfredo sauce was a bad idea in terms of healthy living
  20. Newsflash! Most modern script languages do, actually.
  21. /* Function to add increments of one to local variables. */ void IncreaseLocalInt(object oTarget, string sVariable) { SetLocalInt(oTarget, sVariable, GetLocalInt(oTarget, sVariable)+1); } /* Function to decrease variable by one. */ void DecreaseLocalInt(object oTarget, string sVariable) { SetLocalInt(oTarget,sVariable,GetLocalInt(oTarget,sVariable)-1); } /* Define oPC, no matter the method. */ object GetPC() { if(GetPCSpeaker()!=OBJECT_INVALID) return GetPCSpeaker(); if(GetEnteringObject()!=OBJECT_INVALID) return GetEnteringObject(); return OBJECT_SELF; } There is a nice include for you. It allows you to increase and decrease variables by 1. It is that simple. The lower function allows you to detect the PC whether it is during conversation or entering a trigger. If you can't figure it out from there, I really can't help.
  22. Yes. But that would be the worst way to do it. Setting variables would be the more appropriate way.
  23. LAWL! I'm not going to disagree with that. Obviously, it is absurd. I don't think anyone is saying "small choice = big consequence." Big choice = Big consequence. No one is going to throw around choices willy-nilly that would effect something so big as the UBG, without SOME information.
