Bush uses 9/11 to Justify Iraq War
Walsingham replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Way Off-Topic
You all know my feelings on Iraq, so I shan't repeat them. But I do agree it was distasteful to try and make a connection that nobody believed in the least. Particularly when the lack of a connection was formally admitted the other day. But I've never been a fan of his administration. And can we PLEASE not have another Iraq war discussion? Can we try to keep this about the link only? -
What is any of this banter proving except why we're trying to get dates on a forum with only a few single women?

He would be taking us all with him. For his bliss. Although it could be a great thing and the intention is noble, I would not want to forced into someone else's bliss. Anyway it was a stupid joke and don't worry, nobody gets my posts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, OK. I get it now. I assumed you'd all have your tailor made bits 'o bliss in the great Blisstopia. I sure as hell wouldn't expect you to enjoy my own bliss. For starters I'd imagine many of you would have more blackjack, and hookers. And as for life without pain having no meaning (Schopenhauer, if I'm not mistaken) I rather suspect that the lack of meaning would constitute JUST enough suffering to keep me happy. EDIT: 'Mighty' moderator... *snigger*

"What did it matter where you lay once you were dead? In a dirty sump or in a marble tower on top of a high hill? You were dead, you were sleeping the big sleep, you were not bothered by things like that. Oil and water were the same as wind and air to you. " From my man, Raymond Chandler.

I don't mean to be hokey, but I wouldn't accept unless I could take all youse with me. Would be rotten to be hooting it up in perfection knowing everyone else was still suffering.

I have had bad days for weeks now. Consequence of running experiments in an unfamiliar area. You get all the data collected and realise a new depth of understanding and have to start over. Damned annoying, but necessary, I suppose.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Greylord. Enough said. I personally find the whole emphasis on hitting things without any storyline or characters quite terrifyingly boring.
-
Hah! Sounds precisely like what I've been doing!. But they tag team, for feth's sake. You get one down to near death and the other one starts nibbling on your lymph nodes.

Take care, mate. It's never easy having your folks need you. But I have a odd feeling you're going to hold up just fine. *shrugs* Pure hunch. But I'm often right. :D

They why aren't you wearing any pants? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think it would be hygienic to wear pants when you're covered in that much molasses.

My grandmother and my godfather both died of cancer. My ma and uncle are both fighting it. I got mad as hell when my godfather died. He was a very very fine and brave man. I couldn't believe any order would preferentially take him over the many worthless s.o.b.s out there. I tore up a bunch of furniture with my bare hands, shouted a lot, got drunk and generally raised hell. I'm sure he'd have appreciated the thought even if he would not act that way. He loved Kipling and Chesterton. I accepted things when my grandmother died. She was also a very fine woman, who raised my mother alone as a war widow in the days when a woman got paid half a man's salary for doing a man's job. She was fierce but wise and gentle with it. I know she would have wanted me to be calm and to merely remember her, not with sadness but with warmth. So maybe the key is to think what the person would have you do if they were there. If I catch it I want you bastards to get drunk, find the most officious petty bureaucrat or scrofulous bully you can and thump em on the head with a sofa. Because no life has been lived without feeling the strong arm of the law on you at least once.

Well, thanks to my cretinous ineptitude I haven't been able to get the ooo1 to work yet. Hva eto download it again, I think, as it looks to me as if key files are missing. Incidentally, and no complaints here, really, but how the feth do I kill clannfear? I'm in Oblivion and the little bastards keep appearing in pairs and I'm getting my entrails handed to me coated in candy floss.

Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade demo out
Walsingham replied to Musopticon?'s topic in Computer and Console
IG! IG! You gotta love the guard. -
I noticed the arrow thing, too. I was like "Ah! I've got an arrow poking out of me! OWOWOWOW!" And started hopping around. I couldn't work out how to get rid of it. Then it just disappeared. <_< I was looking forward to finding some tongs or somesuch. Thanks for the modlink. Ya gotta love some random guy just up and fixing a big game like this. Will be installing. It says the save games will work so I should be alright now I'm already level 15 and have a bunch of neat kit already. I have to say that the RPG lightness is very apparent. Frankly it's more like Elite with swords than anything else. This is especially apparent as I'm also playing Vampire Bloodlines, where the story and characters kick senor vorpal kickasso. Pop: I do know what you mean, but I hate to just say that you can't have non-linearity. I am sure you could have plenty of non-linearity. It just needs some damned inventive thinking. Not rehashing the same old dross.

1. Carbon dating is insufficiently accurate to work on this. 2. Crimson 3. War. Women. Song. 4. Songs about war and women. Only kidding. I used to like hip-hop, but it's so commercial now it sucks like a black hole. Now like country music. The music of pain. 5. Horror. Foreign mit der schtackle hanging out. Mmmm... Pascale Bussieres... 6. RPG! RPG! RPG! 7. Kindness. 8. Selfishness. 9. Negative. Meta: *slap!*

I love you, and want to have your babies. Now, what's this about a mod?

I've been playing Oblivion for 24 hours, and I'm bored witless. Why? Two reasons: - The lack of any sensible dialogue options makes me feel like I have nothing to add in conversation. Nothing to express. We all know BIS games had little actually mechanics involved in what you said, but you could pretend it did. - The enemies keep levelling up with you! This is asinine in an rpg. This is not an arcade game. I should have the option to take on weeds if I feel like it. Go down the docks and pick a bar fight = easy. Go into the woods and hunt goblins = easy. If I want a challenge I should have to go looking for it. That is what heroing is about! As a consequence I feel no less stressed having a punch up with bandits than I do duking it out with demons in hell. in fact I actually found myself preferring to fight demons in hell rather than goblins, for pity's sake! Because at least the demons were supposed to be dangerous. I'm very very close to jacking it in, and not playing the rest of the game.

You wouldn't be calling Fionavar sexually ambiguous if you saw all the dancing that went on at the last moderator barbecue. If I'd been wearing a monocle it would have exploded into pieces! That dragon can really break it down.

I'm having quite a lot of success with my 7900GT. Oblivion plays pretty good with most of the features turned on, even in big watery bits. I need to consider turning things off if I have abig fight, but then most of those seem to be happening basically in the dark, so go figure.

My company, as opposed to those owned by my massive filthy competitors.

Jeez. :D You'll be some fun! I say promise them all sorts of stuff, then deliver. At the least my folks could have turned getting him a speedboat into another adventure. Get him involved, turn it into another game. Would have been cool.

If any of you chaps had done something like this I'd give you the benefit of the doubt. But when a major US network does it, I'm afraid my charity mysteriously peters out. I think they did it cynically expecting massive frictions, and ensuing commentary in all media.

Incidentally, I found that for my tastes, the Tigerlillies Births Marriages and Deaths as the soundtrack when playing ToSC. Especially good for Durlag's Tower. But be advised, that album is not just adult, but quite disgusting lyrics.

I'd actually be very grateful for a dedicated Ai chip. Would allow for much cooler AI, and seriously, wouldn't that make for much better gaming than just have shinier graphics? I mean, what is the point in something that looks like a real person, but behaves with all the wit and vivacity of a cola machine? And by that I am of course referring to my colleagues on the mod squad. *ducks hurled ironing board*
