  1. I assume there's a link.
  2. Wasn't Onur from Turkey?
  3. In my experience Scotsmen just swear on and on.
  4. I think that's cute.
  5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6209249.stm Look like British troops bulldozed the 'Serious Crimes Unit' in Basra this morning, freeing more than 100 prisoners, who they feared were going to be summarily shot. The prisoners appeared to have been tortured, according to initial medical examinations.
  6. My family had a pretty good shout of it, although all were pretty cranky.
  7. Well I do like it. Despite all the annoying relatives. So festive noodles to you, sir!
  8. Well that's equally stupid. Japanese people should only kill themselves for the express purpose of sinking Essex class aircraft carriers.
  9. I was going to say Star Wars Supremacy, but Homeworld really grabbed me by the nuts, I have to say. I just LOVE the initial fly past opening sequence as the ship powers up for its maiden test flight. "What a beautiful sight" ... And even though it's old, the music and the lighting... *sigh* you really get this sense of being attached to the old girl. Later developments got to me even worse, but I shan't spoil them. Play it for the story if nothing else. Relic should be the next strategic partners for Obs. They really do quality games.
  10. I was thinking that what we need is some English majors or anthropologists to come up with a grand mission/story generator, that is kinda setting independent. Obs should sponsor that, like Bae sponsor advanced physics research.
  11. I assume that means both of us? If the firm can be sued Stateside, that's just fething stupid.
  12. I cant believe we've not got a proper happy christmas thread. I wated to say best seasons greetings to alla youse apes. I hada good day in our fashion. Family aggravating and prima-donna-ish (why can't people make a tiny effort to be pleasant on Christmas?) but I did very well on the presents, and only half gone out so far. Friends still waiting on some of theirs. My presents less than stellar by and large, but most very thoughtful and hence appreciated. How about you kids?
  13. You're clearly confused. That would be Welshmen. And before anyone complains I should point out that Meta's already observed an Englishman can't swear in at all.
  14. No. I think he's distracting you so I can creep up on you with this cricket bat. *fwap* )
  15. Uh, no. At least in the UK you can't sue. I know this because frankly I've been involved in two suicides by train this year. And for the record, people notice your passing like they notice stepping in something unpleasant. What a great epitaph. Suicide isn't cool any more than killing people is cool. It may look like fun in the movies and in books, but in reality it's cold, unpleasant and messy.
  16. You're right. Leet is no joking matter.
  17. I'm blaming Santa in a big conspiracy.
  18. Because you might not be first to the castle? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, you chaps can share the castle with me, but I don't like the notion of a bunch of randoms showing up. I also dispute the notion of avoiding the zombies. I say you stake out your area and you proactively neutralise them. I'm thinking catapulted nets, followed by methodical smushing. If you clear out your region you could probably expand outwards in time. Get back to normal.
  19. I'm going to pretend you mean Miller as in beer. Because that would be a happy ending.
  20. We are lucky in England because aside from the cricket bats we also have working castles. Which are pretty much ideal for zombies. The very best kind would e one bordered by water so you have non-ground based egress and entry. High walls would work for classic and running zombies. I'm mostly worried by how many of us have put a lot of thought into this though.
  21. This reminded me of the film 'Sonatine' by Micheline Lanctot. And you'll notice I said sub-optimal not bad or evil. I just think 'wow, you're getting help, but in all the wrong ways'.
  22. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/4071805.stm This strikes me as sub-optimal on many levels. Thoughts?
  23. Got a point. .22 brainshots for zombies. I still say that 155mm howitzer wins. You can attract 10x their number. Just makes it easier to kill them. Hell the muzzle flash alone could kill ten or twenty.
  24. My four: 1) Run DMC - Walk This Way 2) Giuseppe Verdi - The chorus of the Hebrew Slaves 3) The Pogues - Fairytale of New York 4) The Wailin Jennys - I Forget* *Not the title, although it would be a good one. I really do just forget.
  25. Mmmm... silk.
