  1. No shame in having a big head, unless it's hollow like my coconut.
  2. Hamlet is better if you imagine them in mechs. Seriously.
  3. Then for God's sake, don't watch Leaving Las Vegas
  4. I did my fortnightly booze shop, and picked up only wine. I have mostly gone for Aussies as light and good summer drinking, with two bottles of Portuguese. One rose, one green. Green wine is pretty nice, but new to me. Slightly petillant (fizzy), and quite sour. Good for tapas.

    Aliens?

I think it was Arthur C. Clarke who said that either there were aliens, or we were alone in the entirety of the universe. Either way it was pretty amazing.
  6. *Checks watch* It has been fifteen minutes since I told someone to watch Land of the Blind Watch it, you bastards! *considers audience* It has nekkid ladies in it, but you can claim it's political.
  7. Fair does, mate. You enjoy what you like.
  8. And yet you look so adorably tiny! Congrats on surviving so long. You are definitely smarter than I.
  9. Oh man, I loved that hotel bit. That was seriously scary.
  10. Like it too. I'm certainly going to have to name a Teladi M2 Business Time "Captain! It's Business Time!" "Not while I have breath in my body, ensign!"
  11. I need your help. *pauses to allow gags to subside* I recently dug up our old copy of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay - circa 1990. I figure on getting my new and old friends around for some sessions. I need a campaign with dark fantasy elements, hopefully some cool stuff, corruption, and flying goblins. Most importantly it is going to have to be free-form enough to allow the players to run around doing tehir own thing in between the bigger events. Thoughts, ideas, abuse?
  12. I've always felt that NO fantasy rpg has captured anything remotely magical about being a magic user. It always felt like loading a revolver more than tapping mystic powers.
  13. None of you wannabes impress me with you lame authors. Now E.E. 'Doc' Smith wrote appalling space opera.
  14. I rest my case. I don't really believe that. I was just poking fun at the stereotype that you're not a real man if you don't drink beer. You may be a real man, but you shall be a pale, sad man, possibly dying from consumption.
  15. Brainwave: Saturday Night, by Whigfield. To remind the mourners that there are worse things than dying.
  16. http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/textbased/ne...orest-base.html Scientists trapped by killer bears! Bears.... or zombies!??
  17. The only thing going against superman is that he is a moron. I mean total goddamned moron. He spends all his time fighting crooks. He could probably single handedly end all poverty, avoiding more crime than he can ever punch. .
  18. I usually don't rate covers or male vocalists. But this is just amazing. Man, though the guy is ugly.
  19. To quote from a similar discussion in the game Band of Brothers: "...He can shoot lasers from his eyes. From his EYES!"
  20. *mechanical whirring noise as I spool up* What sort of thing are you after? Kicks, or facts? Probably the best of both would be The Dragon Syndicates, by Martin Booth. Martin died a couple of years ago under what I consider suspicious circumstances, but he really knew his stuff.
  21. That's clearly wrong. I mean I look gay and drink beer.
  22. Oooh! GK Chesterton! Have you, by any chance, been prompted by Deus Ex?
  23. Damn you Shryke! Damn you and your awesomeness to hell!
  24. If you've a good head for figures it can carry you a long way in most branches of the military. It's a rare skill, and possibly even rarer amongst thrill-seeking military types. Frankly, it sounds to me like you should join the reserves, keep on with your studies, and get up to fun stuff in your spare time. Plus if you don't like it the reserves are easier to quit. I had a really humbling but cool experience tonight with my unit. Basically they found out about all the problems I've been having and the whole company en masse pledged to help every way they could. I thought: "Wow. I have a company of soldiers backing me up." I've always seen it as me backing them. It was great to see it working the other way. I mean uniquely great.
  25. Portmanteau from jihadist and fascist? I tried googling it and the only two hits were you using it in threads on this forum. As Muso says, jihadist implies that jihad - a requirement of the faith - equates to political violence. I prefer jifascist or just 'jif', since it makes plain that these radicals have more in common with fascism than Islam. Why allow them to purloin a nobler title?
