Plus I doubt anyone ever got a promotion in these groups by suggesting they just chill out for six months. And there's how many Palestinians being 'represented' by these folks? Damned if you do and damned if you don't, really. Either the militants are elected legitimately, in which case isn't Israel actually legally at war? Or they aren't legitimate, and ... I'm not sure.

Good luck with the pure blood in a country with so many land borders. I honestly don't know why you keep going on about race. It's creeping me out. EDIT: and if your point is just to be creepy, you really need to get out more.

I'm amazed at how long it took even the BBC to get on this story. I get RSS'd stories on Egypt regularly and the past four days ahve been manic. This is NOT something provoked by the government. This was in response to escalating vanadalism and threatened violence. At least as far as I know.

Had almost written today off, work wise. Then unexpectedly, my good manners ( and a degree of following my nose) appear to have saved 40 thousand pounds by way of some insider info on a deal I've been supporting. Never underestimate: please, thank you, and a kind word.

I live on generic-brand Loratadine tablets. Both for the nose and for the skin reactions - very tiny, itchy bump rashes that randomly flare up on exposed skin for 30-60 minutes then disappear entirely. When a room fan is going, when I'm outside, when I'm sitting on a couch, in a chair...suddenly itchitchitch. Any maple trees around? That slightly fuzzy stuff from their leaves on some varieties can be very irritating to nose and skin, I find, especially in the fall...all that tiny tiny leaf fuzz floating around in the air as dust everywhere. A bunch of folks around here have been feeling weird today and this last week. I've ... well tbh I don't recall having worse to anything other than ivy and mould. But *shrug* I was able to work a slow day so little harm done.

Completely exhausted by constant puffiness and itchiness, sneezing, etc. If I ever find out which ****ing plant is doing this to me, then I shall exact some sort of herbicidal revenge.

No problem. It's always interesting to assist when others create. I would suggest, purely for consideration, that people like fantasy and like apocalypses because they: - Provide a change from real life - Provide a stark contrast with real life - give the opportunity for the player to act out a fantasy version of themselves, echoing the above So, the life people want, lived the way they want to. ~ Therefore I guess the question becomes what you think bugs people about real life, what they like and what they'd like to be doing. Have your your apocalypse tapdance on it.

But dear boy, oby is dead keen on racial purity and etc. Can get snotty with underhumans if they're allowed to be simply from wherever they're born.

I've been sneezing all day, and I have no idea why, either. My whole face has swelled up. I'm putting this in context of a big meteor shower, and I have to say TRIFFIDS!

Glad you like it. I'm trying to remember where I picked it up. Insisting that servicemen are representatives of a code of honur is something I understand. But you surely must concede that 18th century honour has very little to do with 21st Century policing. If it makes you feel a bit weird, imagine how some random wahhabi feels. So far as he's concerned, he's just doing honour to Allah and his Prophet (PBUH). the break down, so far as I can see, is that there needs to be a public referendum in many countries where people are asked to stipulate where the line should sit between liberty and security. until they do, no public servant is going to feel they are doing their job unless they ALWAYS ask for more power. Because currently it's impossible for officials to turn around and say "**** you, Johnny Public. We said this might happen, and it has. But you said you'd be cool with it no more than once per year."

If you're going to choose you need to be more elaborate on what you want the IMPACT of the Event to be, and what you want the subtext of the Event to be. I mean, do you want everyone to be reduced to animalistic levels? Do you want an over-turning of the World Order? Do you want to criticise the EU, or MacDonalds, or Jemaah Islamiyah? Define that and you will probably write your own Event.

I apologise if i gave the impression that I thought you were being OTT. I did try not to do that. Veterans are a genuine threat. They have both the operational skills and weapons training to kill a lot of people. I'm thinking of John Allen Muhammad here. [Although it seems his motivation was personally deranged rather than political]. Factor in how many current veterans have experience of terrorist tradecraft by virtue of fighting them, and it gets even worse. The other example I have to mention is the Oklahoma City bombing. Tim McVeigh was also a veteran. You yourself admit _in the post above_ that you can imagine groups taking extreme action to protest government activity. I can't speak for the USA, but certainly in the UK servicemen and ex-servicemen are routinely monitored and investigated. I think it would be naive and dangerous for law enforcement to do otherwise. Because plenty of people in uniform are self-serving ****s, liars, racists... and the only way to see their just desserts served is to beak about in their affairs.
-
You know I'm not anti-you, GD. But i have to say I think you're putting the worst possible interpretation on the DHS guidance. Al Qaeda notwithstanding, the USA has a long standing problem with veterans and anti-federals. Never mind a far right scene that is on the increase, driven in large part by a better organised prison gangs. Talking about the Pres as if he's the socialist anti-christ doesn't help, either. I mean you're pretty moderate. But you can't deny there's a lot of folks practically advocating armed rebellion. It would be an extremely weird intelligence apparatus that flat out ignored all this.

I am having the hayfever day from hell and I don't understand why.

Bad dude, or just a really slow day for Elk Falls PD?

My own view is that any entrenched militant movement is 80% oriented on tehir own people, not the 'enemy'. They certainly kill many times as many of 'their' side than they do police or soldiers. In this case I knew that the casualties were low, but was assuming it was a case of Hamas et al. hoping for a lucky strike. On reflection I wonder if this isn't more about giving a public display of violence for the benefit of the poor bastards they bully every day. "I may not be able to get any amenities, and I may be terrified of offending anyone in the 'party', but at least I get free fireworks." After all, since the barriers went up, if it wasn't for the rockets, these militant groups would be doing next to **** all. Besides pushing their own folks around.

What would you suggest instead? I suggest we elect a less corrupt and overreaching one. I'm not saying it's a daft idea. But i don't think you're going to get that unless and until we stop people going into politics at a young age. Politicos are completely specialised, and entirely isolated in their little world. At least over here. It's no wonder they think they have all the answers when they think that only they understand the question.

So. Are there only men in German ceremonial military units or will drilling with nazi-era rifles become the new hot trend among women looking to improve their looks? But you'd need two rifles at once, or you'd get all lopsided. Plus I'd be concerned about residual nazification. I'm not sure I could grapple a nazi nilpferd.

If you have any boxes from when video games were still physical, stuff it in there. Put the ring on a mousetrap.

The (three dozen) kids actually listen to me, and I can send them packing after 55 minutes It was pretty funny trying to work with my 6 year old on reading this summer. She is convinced we don't know what we are talking about. She loves to say that's not how her kindergarten teacher does it. I've lost my cool more than a few times, I have no idea how people do homeschooling. That reminds me. I tried all sort of filters to turn your son in a coffin into a t-shirt. But nothing quite worked. The best I did was line-style him, and colourise the blue plane on his shirt. but it still didn't capture the awesomeness.

Running with the ball a little here. But isn't that something good take away from this? Spend a little less time facebooking peole who do nothing and say nothing, and reach out when we find someone who is genuinely interesting?

Not so solid on your defence notes on this one, oby, old son. Grad is electrically fired. You don't need an MLRS to launch them.

Not happy with that last post. I'm pretty sure a bunch of those were blokes from Exeter, dressed as Russians.
