And yet from simple pond scum humans (supposedly the only sentient race) developed, and yet species that went through more generations in a larger span of time never came close to developing our level of complexity or intelligence. Given that insects also have a far greater population, if you were to figure the enormous number of insects that have lived on the face of the earth since the age of dinosaurs to today, and compare it to the supposed evolution of humanity in a much shorter span, none of it makes sense. People also often say that we evolved from primates like apes. Well another problem with that is that Darwin taught evolution occurs when it is a necessity to survive. The parent species dies out. Yet we have reason to believe that apes and other primates existed around the time of early humans. It stands to reason that we thusly did not evolve from them. If evololution was necessary for survival, those who didn't adapt would have died out, not exist alongside us for all these years. I love how people call some of these theories science when they have HUGE holes in them. These theories are popular, widespread, and perhaps our current best guess. That doesn't make them right, or well founded.

WH40k is a big money sink. I picked up one of their cheaper fig games, I think it was Necronomicon when it was on clearance. GW had decided to cancel the game, but sales increased so much when it went clearance that the game got picked up again. In that game you had small gangs instead of much large forces, and you could even get cheap plastic figs. The game was quite fun. You had character sheets, and your gang members had unique stats, and they gained experience. And even then I was dumping quite a bit of money into a clearance game that required very few figs.

That was clever of those spiders! I'd like to try something like that myself! (w00t) Any suggestions for what I should develop? :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was in a Junion High biology class. We watched a 2-hour video about these scientists who went down to South America and watched insects progress from generation to generation over 3 years. Since many insects only live a few days, said generations are frequent and thusly insects are great for studying evolution. However, since we had insects millions of years ago, and they have considerably more frequent generations than us, and haven't evolved into a super race in a larger span of time since humans supposedly evolved, I find it hard to assume that there are huge jumps in species evolution, such as the phylogenic tree would suggest. I did not come from pond scum.

China renews their crackdown on the internet

There are those that believe that when Christ said nobody, he only really meant Christians, and that his words didn't apply to those that didn't really want to listen to them. Again, I think this is a stretch and a cop-out. But there is a prevailing theory that all paths lead to the same Heaven, except this would contradict the repeated messages in the Bible that few will get to Heaven. The Bible says that before all is said and done, everyone will have the chance to hear God's message and decide. Does this mean there is reincarnation? Does this mean those that didn't receive the Gospel get a free pass? Does this mean all roads lead to Heaven? That doesn't seem very clear. What does seem clear and consistent in the Bible is the message of God handing out free will. Some feel that God is a tyrant for denying Heaven to all, but one could argue that is not condemning anyone. We either strike a path to Heaven of our own free will, or we don't. And really that is pretty consistent with other major religions, yet Christianity is the one where God is made out to be such a bully. -

The problem is that interpretation would be greatly inconsistent. Most prophets in the Bible, well every single one save for Jesus if you classify him as a prophet, were largely selfless. They didn't appreciate being thrusted forward, and didn't take credit for being a personal vessel to reach God through. Did Daniel or John the Baptist say you reach God through them? No, they were extremely humble and kept the message away from themselves. When a guy says that you can't get to Heaven except through him, whatever means, the road goes through him. Either he is an extreme narcisist or he's telling the truth. Again, pick one. -
As a random side-note the website for the Mothman Prophecies actually really creeped me out. Too bad the movie wasn't that good. And Puss in Boots in insanely cute. I hear he is getting his own spin-off movie.

As a stupid party trick I have intentionally lit my hands on fire. Don't try this at home, but if you cover your hands in a fuel source, it will burn quite spectacularly before your hands do. You don't want to use something like gasoline because it can also explode. However, I have covered my hands in hair spray and put on a human torch demonstration. Mind you, I had to put myself out after only a few seconds, but I didn't receive any burns.

China renews their crackdown on the internet

Christ said pretty plainly that he died and was resurrected. He also said that no man reaches Heaven except via him. Either you believe that Christ is actually the Son of God, or that phrases comes off more as something David Koresh says. You can't say that Christ spoke the True Word of God, and then suddenly ignore Christ's message. -

His words are the true words of God, except when Jesus said that he was one with God, or that he was God's son, or that no man reached Heaven except through him, or that he was resurrected, etc. C.S. Lewis was paid lump sums of money to debunk the Bible since he was such a smart cookie. C.S. Lewis went from devout aethist to devout Christian after pouring over the Bible. He said that you can't accept that Jesus was a prophet and discount that he was the Son of God, because you can't accept 95% of his teachings and then someone assume he was bonkers when he said that no man may reach Heaven accept through him. If he was egomaniacal and crazy, then he wasn't a very good teacher, role model or prophet. I believe it was in the Screwtape Letters. -
I declare Child/Eru and RolePlayer to both be winners. Eru had the best pitch and logic. RolePlayer offered a good avatar upfront. So I will take RolePlayer's avatar for a month, and then let Eru pick my next one.

Alias borders on melodrama, but personally I think good actors made it work. The concept of the show is flat-out silly. There is no denying it. Yet every single person I showed the DVDs to kept saying "one more episode!" The cliffhanger formula, action sequences, etc. are good enough to keep an audience hooked anyways. Jennfer Garner gives empathy and credibility to a pretty incredible character. Season 3 wasn't quite as good because it lacked the tension and danger, not to mention suspense. They foreshadowed the villian, and then gave it away early in the season anyways. So you waited all season for a brief showdown that was pretty anti-climactic. Then Season 4 flat out abandoned the whole serial-cliffhanger formula and meta-plot for random badguys of the week. Didn't people realize that is why X-Files lost fans? Damon and JJ talk about how they realize fans got impatient on Alias with nothing really revealed so perhaps they have a much better perspective on how to handle Lost. I don't think I'll watch Season 5 despite people telling me the Season 4 finale was pretty good.

Howard the Duck is in the Marvel Universe, but I think they left him out of the recent Marvel game.

The Bible seems fairly clear that Jesus is alive and didn't die a second time which is an important distinction. Islam branched off and insists that Jesus couldn't be the Son of God, because God can't die. They see Jesus as dead, and thusly not divine. -

We've witnessed evolution and documented it. I've seen spiders develop a second spinner to create ultra-violet webs that look like flowers to insects, when it didn't have that trait previously. However I think it is fair to say there is very little evidence to suggest pond scum became humans via evolution.

It no longer burns. I went to the clinic and got that cleared up.

Fixed! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes! With big guns. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And big packages. Wait, that was Darque's line.

Financial success equates directly to quality in Darque's book?

Devs can't answer when they don't even log into the board.

They did consider closing down their own boards. Ultimately I imagine it was Atari who pushed for the NWN:2 boards to shift to Bioware, or maybe not. Then again when I read the Bioware forums, I'm not sure I want those posters here.

I think it is just a matter of nettiquette, but I agree with you. If you quote more than you post, then you need to trim it up. If you're quoting a lengthy post, then break it up and reply point by point, or if you are only really replying to one small part of a previous post, then don't quote the whole thing. Certainly don't quote someone else quoting someone else quoting someone else.

Actually THAC0 is based on STR except for Melee weapons, and I thought other classes started with a THAC0 of 19, such as notably Fighters. D&D is that wacky game where one attribute governs damage and your ability to hit.
